Assume that you like the way corpseguard works (I do) and that you want people to have some small chance of looting items individually from a corpse when it's being guarded.
Rather than repeatedly spamming and getting whapped in the head, kicked in the ass, or whatever, you could have it so when you tried to get an item from a corpse you started to "wait for your moment of opportunity" to dive in and grab it.
This would work like request - instead of repeated spamming of the command, you would have a low to zero chance of failure in getting the item but it would take a while (1 tick?).
Unlike request, you should be able to cancel the action or respond if interrupted by combat.
Less spam, same net effect, and probably even more benefit to the corpse-guarder since they will have a longer time before it's even possible for an item to be grabbed from a corpse.

As a high ranked char, I would like this. I don't care if a lowbie grabs all his middling gear, I don't want him to grab the troll pendant or cube of force or whatever. Right now corpse guard often lets them grab some of the creme of the loot with the spam. "New payment options w/ Iron Realms"

Don't like this idea much at all. The point of corpseguard wasn't to completely negate corpse robbing (thus why it's not 100%), but to slow it down/make it harder. What you're proposing is that whether you hit or miss an item, and you're saying you will almost most definately HIT, you have to wait a tick before you can do it again? What lagging skills lag for an entire tick? What happens when a GROUP of lowbies show up just waiting for the tick? At what level do you decide that you can just loot freely with no tick penalty? Just seems like you want corpse looting to cease, which it will never. I like it the way it is now, minus the spam. I'd like to see, if it's not already implemented, a difference in trying to get one item compared to trying to get all. I think if you try to get all you should be lagged much more sufficiently than if you try to grab one item at a time, and then as Isildur said, find some way to fix the spam on it. Perhaps make it one sided. Like...
Your point of view: You smack the crap outta that greedy lowbie for trying to loot the corpse. Nothing. *then if they hit* Greedy stinkin lowbie evades your defenses when you aren't looking. - lowbie gets such and such from the corpse
Their point of view: Guarding corpse guy whomps you over your dumb greedy head for trying to loot the corpse. Now either you can have this succssively on the looters end, or change the echo or whatever.
I just agree with the fact that sometimes it really is hard to see what's in the corpse when you have 3 rank 12's spamming get all corpse, but don't think it should change in a timer fashion. There's already lag associated with it, the only change I'd like is more for the "get all". Yea... my dime and a nickel I hate a liar more than I hate a thief a thief is only after my salary a liar is afgter my reality

I love it. Perhaps not have it go for an entire tick, perhaps 5 rounds, and make the item they get random, if they're going to almost definitely get an item, you know, they get their chance, and slip past their defenses (perhaps not in the best position) and grab whatever's closest at hand.
I'd also love to see the corpseguard actions do damage and lag to the wee looters. Put a little danger into messing with the bigger dog. It would definitely limit spamming.
