#12140, "We need a newbie friendly cabal."
|
I think we should create a cabal for newbie players. It should have special skills like an outfit after level 10, and maybe a recall. Create food and water maybe. Simple things like that to help them survive and explore. The cabal should have a chest for the older characters in the cabal can put equiptment. This is a really good idea and i would like to hear what everyone has to say about it. I would be more than willing to put all my time into substaining this cabal and encouraging newer characters to join. Skill suggestions are very welcome also.

I believe it was Nivult that pointed out that there practically is a newbie "cabal" already. You just have to rank out of it after level 10. Let's recap:
-They get "who newbie" -They have their own newbie channel. -They're completely protected from being pked. Definitely overpowered there. -Free use of the "outfit" command. -They get the ability to recall for free. -They're protected from entering a lot of dangerous areas. -They even have their own area, called "the Academy", that only they can get into. -Cabal hopping is encouraged once you decide you're done with this one.
Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me!

. . . of the episode of The Simpsons where Bart is put in a remedial class.
Bart: Let me get this straight. We're behind the rest of our class and we're going to catch up to them by going slower than they are?
Basically, I don't think you do newbies any favors by segregating them from all the players who can actually teach them anything. At best, this would be a gear farm for caballed or veteran players who enjoy picking low-hanging fruit to prey upon.

That may be true but newbies are prey to veteran players anyways. The cabal may not be very strong but it would definatly be good practice for newer characters to get into the feel of belonging to a cabel and the roleplay that is involved.
