#11477, "Necromancer's Becoming for Paladins and AP's..."

I was thinking about how a Necromancer can become a Lich.

I started thinking about Paladins and Anti-paladins and wondered what it would be like if they could "morph" like the necro into Angels and Demons?

I can see AP's doing this fairly well. Necro's draw off the power of Negative energy and, to me, AP's seem like they would draw more of their magic from Hell and... stuff. Granted that probably not how things work, but I'm just thinking out loud.

Necro's draw from the Negative Plane, so I don't know how the Hell thing would work out, but, for the sake of arguement lets just say, AP's of sufficent(sp) power can attempt a becoming of their own and drawing on the powers of Hell, transform into the very demons or devils they use in/with/whatever their magic.

Paladins on the other hand seem a bit trickier. Since they get their power from an god, it wouldn't really work the same way. Since the "divine" realm in Thera doesn't work the same way in real life, (the conjurer circle for example, elementals are Celestial and angels are Thaumaturgic) I'm not real sure how to work that on out.

I thought it could be a groovy notion. I'm sure there's a lot of problems in it, but I'd like to hear what you think.

The usual answer is that the necromancer's becoming is unique, and it's something that's preferred to stay unique, rather than diluting the specialness by giving it to a bunch of classes in some form or another.

I at least thought it was something worth thinking about.

Maybe with the right attitude it could be a nice cosmetic change for a special character for something.
