Has anyone else deleted and re-rolled a lvl 9 char with 6 hours on him, not to mention some nice eq that probably won't come again, Solely because every single rank those first 9 or so ranks was sub average hp-mana gain for their race class? Yes, full con, no no -con gear.

Let's say I have played this race/class before, and my gains for hp/mana usually look like...

9/18, 8/19, 9/22, 9/20, 8/21, 9/16, 7/20 the first seven ranks...

but, this new char looks like....

7/16, 8/19, 8/17, 7/21, 9/16, 8/17, 7/18 the first seven ranks...

Now, consciously, I know that a 5 hp and 12 mana over 7 lvls isn't going to either make or break a character... and it's only 37 hp and 87 mana at hero even if it continues like this....

And I consciously know that in all likelyhood, this is just a bad run of the rng,

But I can not help but feel subconsciously that the char is now jinxed with bad luck, which will effect all sorts of things.

Am I alone in this?

But I have found that my characters That I do stick out to hero with crappy gains like that all the way through are abnormally afflicted with bad luck.
I had a storm giant polespec
I couldn't ever get ANYTHING to go right in a pk
I'd miss chops over and over again, bashes as well.
I'd get TERRIBLE rounds against people on random occassions more often than I've noticed with other characters
IE everyone has a bad round or two, but DAMN every fight almost?

Personally though this doesn't make me delete just a little more careful about my character in the future on not relying on luck so much...

If not alone, relatively alone.

To be honest, I've always been a little surprised that that behavior isn't more epidemic. It's not something I would do or would think someone SHOULD do, but considering the lengths some of the players have gone to looking for a small edge...

Wow.

It honestly would never even occur to me to pay attention
to that. Personally, I wouldn't want to stop showing that
information to people, so maybe if it gets to you like that
you should use your client to gag that line.

People do tell me I am mildly ocd when it comes to some things. That's why I asked here, didn't know if I was alone and crossing the line, or others felt the same way.

I think that qualifies as mildly ocd, as far as CF topics go.

Over 50 ranks I imagine it averages out anyway. I bet every dwarf warrior that heroes, training hps and loosing con aside, have VERY similar natural hp levels at hero.

But, do what makes you happy! It's all about the opportunity cost. If it's more valuable to you to delete, reroll and gain 15 ranks again just to have 7 more hitpoints, when you could make level 25 in the same time span... then go for it. For me, it's not even close to worth the time.

Aarn!

p.s. I hate economics.

I'm with Q on this one, I never even notice. I think I only started to semi- pay attention once they tossed in skill gains. Oh, and practices, so I could smack myself for forgetting to take off that -int gear. That's happened way too many times.
