#10312, "question i'd like answered from an immortal perspective"

i live with my boyfriend and play cf quite often. recently he's shown some interest in the game, but i'm wary of playing at the same times because, even though we're on different computers, our ip addresses are the same. we'd even play from the same room. of course if our characters were to play together this would be considered cheating, so we won't be doing that. i'm wondering if, even though our characters would be kept very separate from one another, our sharing the same ip would lead to some kind of rotd consequence.

it's not my intention for us to permagroup or anything. i'd just like him to be able to enjoy the game as much as i do if he wants. would we end up having to play at different times, or is my first solution possible?

I'm not saying you have to do this, but one thing I've seen some players in a similar situation do is send up a pray or two early on explaining the situation.

If any questions come up later it's never a bad thing to have on the record that you were up front about it right away.

I like this idea. If nothing else, it should keep you (i.e. the two players) honest.

Here's the quick answer... if you obey the rules, you'll be fine playing at the same times.

But, to expand on that a little, you'll have to be a little careful. It's best if you have very little interaction with people you know ooc, and keep that action completely in character.

Hope that helps

The only way around this one, is if you happen to have very little interaction between characters and end up joining the same cabal, it's usually alright. Me and a friend of mine lived in the same house off the same IP. They called us to RotD once, we explained, and it was all alright.
