I'm not saying you have to do this, but one thing I've seen some players in a similar situation do is send up a pray or two early on explaining the situation.
If any questions come up later it's never a bad thing to have on the record that you were up front about it right away.

Here's the quick answer... if you obey the rules, you'll be fine playing at the same times.
But, to expand on that a little, you'll have to be a little careful. It's best if you have very little interaction with people you know ooc, and keep that action completely in character.

The only way around this one, is if you happen to have very little interaction between characters and end up joining the same cabal, it's usually alright. Me and a friend of mine lived in the same house off the same IP. They called us to RotD once, we explained, and it was all alright.
