#924, "The Mystery of Thief Skills/Paths"
|
Now that I think about it twice, I'm sure it's been explained before, but I've got a little thief that's coming up, and I was wondering why players aren't allowed to know how many/which skills they can choose, or when they are able to get more "points" (or how many) to "buy" skills with?
I mean, sure, a newbie could just make sure to go all the way in their chosen path, but it seems the current system hampers us from mixing and matching very well, because you never know when you're going to give up that awesome 3rd/2nd to last, or final skill for whimsically getting plant, or something. What if there was a mechanic that allowed you to know just what you could end up getting (tokens(?) from your guildmaster and token cost displayed in helpfiles, etc.)?
I guess it just doesn't seem too abusive/number crunchy when you're dealing with all the class skills you'll ever have. Just curious what's up.

Thieves need some work and at the end of it I'd like transparency to rule the day in terms of knowing what you can learn from the outset.
So I'd rather not have time wasted on explaining a system that's going to be unsucked anyway, and I'll just ask for your patience while this works its way up the list.
Not exactly Nepenthesque, I know.

ps: Maybe someone'll want to display the points between now and then, but I'm not asking anyone too.
