#4317, "Hit roll question"

Does having a high hit roll have any effect on the landing success of (any) active combat skills? Or is hit roll just used for normal melee hits to see if they get past the defender's AC/armor deflection?

I was pretty sure that hit roll over 30 helped me land 3 strikes when doing strike of faith with my elf pally, but imms said it didn't come into play. I'd tested it quite extensively so that came as a surprise to me.

Most active combat skills do not care.

I think it would be awesome if they did care so hitroll actually had a place but for the most part hitroll is just used for normal melee hits. If you see a lot of "misses" on your normal hits you probably do not have enough hit roll.

The aim skill helps your hitroll to avoid armor deflection.
