Hi everyone,

1) Does a 'resist heat' prep have an impact on fela's vuln to fire?

2) If 'resist heat' has an impact, how does it compare to a 'resist fire' prep?

3) Is there any 'resist fire' prep in game?

4) Somebody recommanded me to use a certain potion that gives 'desensitize' for PK situation:

Syntax: cast 'desensitize'

This spell divorces the transmuter from his or her sense of pain in an
attempt to limit the trauma of injury. It provides a limited resistance to all attacks. While under its influence, the transmuter will be less able to assess their own physical attributes, and will underestimate physical damage done to them. Also, they will be unable to feel if abilities are currently helping or hindering their more physical attributes.

I'm melee class and I've found the prep, tried it and the effect falled while I was fighting (not 100% of HP) a mob... :

4a) My HP didn't move at the end of the effect, so I wonder what the helpfile means by : 'While under its influence, the transmuter will be less able to assess their own physical attributes, and will underestimate physical damage done to them.' ?

4b) I also wonder what physical attributes helpfile is talking about with :"Also, they will be unable to feel if abilities are currently helping or hindering their more physical attributes.

4c) Guess true question is : Is this prep really worthed to use?

Yes. Normally you would take 4/3 the normal damage from fire. With resist heat you take 2/3 the normal damage, just like someone would who doesn't have a fire vuln. Having "resist heat" takes you all the way from "vuln" to "resistant".

Nope. Resist heat = resist fire.

Depends on how much you value the "limited resistance to all attacks". It's cheap and easily purchased, so it seems worth it to me. The down side is that it causes certain things to not show up in your affects list. You're still affected by them, you just can't *tell* that you're affected by them by using the "affects" command.

I'm not 100% sure I follow you, but:

Resist heat and resist fire are the same thing. Yes, they're useful to a felar.

Desensitize doesn't work exactly the way you think it does. Part of what you're missing, you'll notice if you pay attention to the affects command and it's relevant. (E.g., you won't see some affects or as much information about some affects while desensitize is going.)

No. But it reduces damage from things that tend to exploit your fire vuln.

25% rather than 33%, iirc.

It's the actual hits appear to be less strong than they are. e.g. You'll take 90hp of damage and see DISMEMBER when you should be seeing MANGLE. But your hp themselves will be accurate.

You can't tell what maladictions have been done to your stats. e.g. You can't tell your current strength.

If you can live with the drawbacks, yes. And they're not THAT hard to live with.
