#2361, "Maps"

Long time lurker, first-time poster, with a question and a proposal.

I'm using the CMud/ZMud mapper to map the roads and major cities of the game, and I'd like to offer that map to anyone who wants it. Assuming I can find a filehosting site, would it be all right if I posted the link to the file here? I know it isn't forbidden under the written rules, but I don't want to risk upsetting anyone by breaking an unwritten rule.

I don't speak for the entire imm staff, but I think that the maps we want to support being out there are the ones you can find in game.

Well, then, I'll keep it for my private use.

And no, I don't intend to trigger it to retrieve my corpse - too close to botting any way you slice it, for my comfort or enjoyment.

The Wiki is found in www.qhcf.net .That map is pretty comprehensive, IMHO. Or is it some kind of client-map thingy for those clients in particular?

Zmud and some others allow you to map your steps. This is an *extremely* elaborate and frustrating process, because once you mess up, or the client reads your steps incorrectly, your entire map can be ruined.

I very much doubt this is, or should be supported by staff, because I am aware of a zmud function that would allow you to instantly run back to your corpse.

#TRIGGER You have been killed!
#RECALL <==puts the mapper position back to your designated recall spot

then you use the auto run function within the zmud mapper to instantly return to that location.

If someone is outrageously anal, you can map much of the game that does not have random exits, allowing the creation of an auto run function.

I've killed people and had them retrieve their things from their corpse in one tick from half a continent away. After that I was much more inclined to "get all corpse" and then sort things out in a different location.

I can run most places in Thera within 1-2 ticks WITHOUT auto-maps. I know most of Thera well enough to run around it blind.

Always shoot first and then call whatever you hit the target.
