Do you get any bonus to damage with wielding a single handed weapon with nothing in the off hand? A lot of places I know offer like a 50% str bonus or some such since you can use both hands on the weapon and strike harder.

There is a built-in bonus to damage with heavy two-handed weapons. Other than that, if a weapon is designed to be wielded in one hand, the second hand doesn't do you any good.
