#1404, "Role question"
|
I know that the Gods do enjoy a well-written role. Even more when it is for an empowering class.
My question is that yes, I've had priests in the past. Yes, I've been fully empowered. But I'm still insecure about my roles. We can say that I am a perfectionist. Just wish to know though, if the roles are a bit long and perhaps not perfectly written in English (Second language). Will it be considered? I mean, I am unsure to put a plan of mine in action because I am unsure if this role will even be looked at.
Thanks!

The most important thing about a role is that it communicates what the character is about. Based on your posts in general, I've never had a problem reading them, and I doubt any language barrier would come up.
As for the length of the role, my advice is that if it's a 4-page role that can be said in 2 pages, say it in two pages. Additional background may be useful for you to have (to get into the character, to plan future updates, to draw from in conversation, etc.), but it isn't necessarily needed by an observer to know what your character is about. Also, we tend to be fond of roles that evolve a bit with the experience of the character, vs. a role that is pasted in at level 1 and never updated.
Your experiences with specific staff members may vary from the above-- I'm trying to give a general overview of what I hear from people.
