We ranked a bit but I didn't have the time to stay more that a few hours at a time. Appreciate the ranking for sure. I didn't guess this was Pro and I have been around a couple of your rangers and outlanders a few times. I won't say that the Keep is safe, well, because nothing is safe if you ask my character to guard it. She'd be more likely to get bored and walk away. Didn't guess it was you though that absolute honor thing you carry irl tends to bleed over and I can see it after the fact
PS: I spent approximately 3 years trying to beat <Name removed due to potential for flamewar> to that necklace and gave up 5 years ago. To get it handed to me was damn funny.

It's great for a low hp high dex race. I wanted the extra damage so I kept the wool cloak instead. lol

It had been handed to me earlier and I was thinking great but it just didn't feel right with me and I tend to keep trinkets to gift to people.

Well thanks for the complement. Have fun!

Despite wands, you still ran him down to gushing even though you managed zero useful commands in this fight.

I don't think there's any opponent you deserve to beat with tactics that are slightly inferior to getting up and walking away from the keyboard.

I'm just saying. Sure, sword warrior is probably about the most effective character without entering any commands, but seriously? You're upset that you lost this fight?

Lets not forget that metabolic quickening, accelerate and slow all (almost) definitely play a role in this fight. Also, IIRC Pro is wearing no saves gear (I'm not in this log, but I did see Athaniel shortly before he deleted).

You probably should've fled.

1. You simply didn't have nearly enough damroll (obvious from the lower-case damage vs. the Orc) to outmelee him with the 2 or 3 hits/round you'd be doing.

2. Being slowed, with him hasted, it's even more unlikely you'll hit him.

Just sayin'. Nothing is more frustrating as that mage player than to be all wanded up (which can take like...two ticks, esp. now that you can't do it while duoed), finally get to take the fight to a guy, and he flees when it's obvious you've got his number.

STAY THERE AND FIGHT ME AND DIE, DAMMIT! is what I'm thinking when I'm that mage.

I hadn't highlighted the slow affect so I missed it.

And normally I was throwing massacres but the Orc was a mundungu so resistant to light.

I was hopping crashing would surprise him so I stayed in the fight. I figured I'd try the bash to see if he was sloppy and it lagged me out longenough for that freezing thing.

I was under the impression that affect only happened at the beggining of a fight.

I get trip lagged from an evaded trip, tried tripping him one more time, nope he's flying went for the flee, Frozen, all done.

You can say "And Yet" But it was only that I had Crashing for a legacy that I was able to really do anything. His spamming spells let me get that much damage on him.

I don't see how it's even possible for a wanded mage to die.

Agmar Stonebones being one. While he didn't get very high he was a very survivable character even though he was an uncaballed Outie.

My lowbie Necromancers were very survivable.

As were my Conjurers (Except to my own Servants)

And a handfull of other invokers.

Give all mages, shield block or maybe a spell that acts as a shield (Same echos as shield block) until it's dispelled or expires.

I just don't think they need the damage reduction they can get.

I dropped an Unpseak ambush on a sleeping unprepped Drow AP while using Mithril blades and he escaped. 30 mins later he caught me while he was preped and leasurly walked over me while I was doing lower case damage to him on a vuln exploit.

Every instance I have had with mages and wands, whether me using them, or they using them, leaves me thinking they don't need them.

Of course, I don't look at mages as front liners eather, rather support, how ever powerful they may be.

I would have ran once the orc was dead. My rule is: if I didn't start the fight, I run. Particularly with a warrior.

Probably, used some of my spec skills. I don't know what your second spec was or what your prime stat was, but in your situation I wouldn't be bashing or tripping once you realize he's not taking very much damage (for whatever reason -- this is also true if your gear is terrible.)

I rp a pretty broad spectrum of charater types and you've never commented on them before except to say you liked them.

Yes, but you also have some habits that can stand out and you displayed many of them with this character.

As someone who has played a hero muter and a handful of other things at hero fairly recently:

People with good saves (vs. spell and vs. paralysis) tend to do a very good job against muters. I attributed the outcome of a lot of fights to gear alone, and I mean that both as the muter and as the guy fighting the muter.

In that fight in particular, being a dagger spec probably would have helped a little bit, but mainly being level 51 and having some (more?) saves gear probably would have done it.

I tend to go for Divine saves with all my character. I was using plate of protection, couple bandeds and a mantle of ait though this time. So yeah -23 saves.

I like how fast humans rank but I didn't like available edges (Didn't even spend mine) and this one didn't seem to play the way I like my warriors to play.

When dealing with a transmuter, generally speaking, paralysis is your most important save, followed by spell.

I'm not going to die. It's just that simple. If there's a small remote chance I MIGHT die, I'll just stay duo. You CAN'T find me unprepared. You CAN'T make me come get my cabal powers because I simply don't need them. You CAN'T do anything but hope I screw up, which I'm probably not going to since I can pick when to fight ANY time I want. It's frustrating at best.

Yeah, I often think we made a mistake letting transmuters have full regen again while duo, but at the same time -- the list of PK-successful transmuters at any given time is always short.

It doesn't seem to have any logical connection to their style of magic. Now it does with conjurers but I wouldn't want that.

Back with prismatic spray and hold person and all that jazz. They used to have gate so it made sense.
