#90823, "Help! Nurok hit me over the head!"

Whelp,

That was a fun ride, while it lasted. I find that in between my other hobbies and my life I have little time left to invest in poor ol' Nurok. In all honesty, the village deserves leadership that is motivated, and itching to play...which just is not me any more . Role playing a mouthy dwarf was probably one of the cooler things I've done in my CF career. Also, after the great purge I felt the need to return to my roots within the village. Which as always, was a mixed blessing/curse. I interacted with a lot of folks, and I am sure some of you will get left out of my goodbyes..for that I apologize. Likely, I would have deleted Nurok a lot sooner, had I not had the benefit of at least one solid fangirl . Anyways, on to my goodbies.

IMMS:

Iunna: Yes, I am listing you before Thror. You pretty much made this character for me, our interactions were always fun. From simply kickin' it back, to you kicking my ass..all top notch. And gosh, how many warrior-ish/drillmaster/battle sexual innuendo's could we come up with. Also, you pretty much cured me of my dyslexic tendency of misspelling "believe" as "beleive". I misspelled it a few times, and I thought for sure I'd be busted, and you'd know exactly who I was...however, I don't think you ever figured me out. But now that the cat is out of the bag I can say..... That you finally taught me the long and graceful strokes of the bigger blade hur hur... Regardless, thank you for all the fun, and I really appreciate all the support you showed me.

Thror: Interacting with you kicked ass. When I was a Heroimm, and saw you return up high prior to announcing it to the masses, I was jaded. As, I had never gotten to play a follower of yours. Although, I doubt I fully grasped your religion at the get-go. You sure did take me under your wing, and our dwarf vs dwarf interactions were hillarious, especially when I was with "your" woman...good stuff.
I didn't find the fact that your playtimes seemed not to match mine too much a problem...because after all, I had "your" gal to take care of me

Team Battle: The rites were amazing, and fun. You guys really pull it off for the Cabal, and I hope you continue to do so. Although I wish I had performed better in the wits...it was a great village learning experience.

Morts:

Zinzisin: You were a bastard, and rightly so. Pre-purge I was playing Iztatsin...who was a lvl 25 dark elf dagger spec, who I intended to make defender dagger/mace stsf/surrounding or stsf/flow...You pulled it off quite nicely, and I always enjoyed your jabs at Nurok..Even though I did pound you once .

Druvik: Great guy, I hope you are still having fun. Shifters can definitely be a rough fight for a defender assassin. Anyways, I always enjoyed hanging with you.

Sophia: Your outlandery villager style was quite unique. Sometimes, I did not know what to make of it, but it worked for you.

Kaelph: I am sorry you deleted, and that there was little I could do to stop the constant manhandling you were receiving. Hard to endure that kind of treatment.

Knacnar: You seem like a very experienced player. Your game/area knowledge is top notch. However, it always seemed to me that you could step it up a notch on the leadership half of being the commander..take this feedback as constructive criticism, and not a jab please. With your game knowledge, if you ramped up a few leadership style ideas and brought them to the table for the village, you'd be (in my book) a great leader, rather than just the commander.

Droma: Solid rager, keep it up. You impressed me quite a few times, and I think you are doing really well.

Arlo: I feel really bad for killing you in the circle (as a player) but from an RP perspective, it was the right thing to do.

Enemies:

Nexuns:

Ellywinkle: You stuck it out for a long time and were always willing to attempt a retrieval regardless of the odds. Also, I cannot remember you ever bitching in a semi OOC manner...so kudos to you!

Sauq: Same as ellywinkle, except I gotta say you+that conjie abusing that obvious fireball bug pissed me right off. I mean, killing 1 person with a 1 shot fireball is one thing, if you stop there..killing your entire range and pushing forward to kill the D and take the head (with a single fireball) was crap.

Night: You need to take a step back, and re-examine what you are doing. After I killed your svirf (Durggan?) and then your dwarf (forgot his name) your OOC commentary was over the top. Also, I knew you were that imperial bard, just from the way you would speak to me in game. Just FYI it isn't good RP to continually threaten a hero (when you are lvl 20) when such said hero could likely kill you with a harsh stare. I realize this game can create an "arch nemesis" for every player...but damn, take it easy.

Scions:

Where are the scions...

Empire:

Melemelemlemelemel: yeah..I won't pick on your name, except for misspelling it . I liked you, but I also found that drow shaman was not a good matchup for dwarf mace berserker. I think I killed you 5-6 times myself, at least. I gotta say, I found it hillarious when you finally managed to gang me down, and demand the bloodoath...despite your losses

Adarmar: Tough char, I think I know who you are, but not going to start my conspiracies in my BF thread. YOU SIR! drove me nuts. I cannot believe how many times I would curse over not being able to use my prep knowledge vs your prep knowledge. How many times a potion would've made my day..le sigh. Anyways, try to get rid of your full-looty bad sportsmanship tendencies, and I think you would be a great asset to CF.

Ckath: Good stuff..I liked you..despite you ganking me and feeding that AP my charges

As I said, I am sure I missed people and I am sorry for that. If I missed you, drop a line and I will reply. I have been playing Eve online a lot more now that my corp is pulling out of CVA space. Anyways, I may be back, I may not..not sure at this juncture! Thanks to all of you who made Nurok fun!

Finally, my previous chars

Selfren Vandergast, Stalwart hunter of the damned.
Penz the black-clad samurai of battle.
Panir Azzamen
Sarien Thillusen, the avatar of courage.
Hakdu, the toungless idiot.
Nurok Flamebeard

Nurok out.

You were a smart, capable Drillmaster always looking for a challenge. Great RP. Great initiative.

Who's going to forge all my weapons now?

So you go and delete, which is just what you said you wouldn't
do! I'm not surprised, that's life. I had no idea it was you, either
- good job on keeping your letters straight, we both know how
much it bugged the #### outta me. :p

Fun character though, thanks for sticking it out as long as you
did, and sorry I kinda disappeared towards the end. Real life'll
do that to you sometimes.

Good luck with whatever's ahead!

Yeah,

But you should know that men are always a disappointment. Its how we roll yo. Anyways, again thanks for taking the time to make Nurok fun. I really liked hosting that competition with you, it was one of the more fun things I've gotten to do in CF. And hey- now you can say that you've PK'd me

Well thank you for the compliment. I always play my shifters too daring for their own good, which got me a few talks from Sauq. A quote from my favorite movie, 'It's not in me to withdraw'. Anyways, you played an outstanding villager and I never had to worry about others taking my things when you killed me. Too bad you didn't have fun towards the end, my latest char is almost in hero range, would have been fun. Ah well. GLWN.

Boooo!

I noticed by a lack of play times that you were probably going to delete soon. What frustrates me is that you didn't hang in long enough for a Noldarian Quest. I had designed one specific to you and your role damnit!

So I have this running theory that every follower I have, gets stolen by Iunna and they end up deleting. How's that for longevity?! Doh!

In all seriousness, this guy was in very close contention with Ghrummin and Tahren as one of my all time favorites. He was just a riot to watch. His interactions were top notch and some of the bantering between you and the other villagers was brilliant. You were the right person for Drillmaster and while you didn't get my religion entirely, it's great to see how you and Knacnar are approaching it from different angles.

I dispute slightly any comments about Knacnar's playtimes. He's on enough that it doesn't warrant any attention and I think folks may just be missing him. Regardless, both solid players and great contributions to this game. Please keep making characters with this kind of depth!

Oh yeah,

I heard through the grapevine that Knac was hard to find, so I confronted him IC. He told me I was wrong, and he put me in my place. We handled it on our own I did not mean my post to be misleading, I know and have known for over 2 weeks he is more active than I was able to see (apparantly he plays the night shift) so, my post was in no way a dig at him. I feel badly for you having spent time on my quest, and me falling off the CF wagon. Thank you for taking the time to do it, and sorry to dissapoint. Maybe some day I will come back and try my hand at another Thror follower Keep trucking bud!

Hey! I had alot of fun with your character, thanks for the kind words. I hope you make another one soon and you've killed me a couple times with your Paladin Sarien, I had no idea he was your creation,
Personally I've always liked dwarves in leadership roles because they can get really mad but not make you feel like "allright this guys an asshole and I'm about to quit caring". Yet somehow make common sense of things and put it to you real simple so even a complete noob can benefit from the instruction. Really any character could do that, I just like the style of it comming from a dwarf. You had fun, and alot of people who interacted with you so I think this character was a big success. Cheers mate!

Nicely done. I liked Nurok alot. I always laughed when Zinsizin and you took verbal jabs at each other. I think he liked to antagonize you a bit. You were a tough dwarf, that's for certain.

Thanks for the warm thoughts on your good bye thread. I am glad you gave some noobs pats on the backs for continually suiciding against 4 to 1 retrieval odds, Glad I was only in that group for a little while (and I would be willing to bet I have some of the highest number of retrievals in the nexus cabal, I just do it in a way that will suceed without getting slaughtered over and over again)

Seriously about the whole demon thing. if I was really trying to exploit the bug I would have called a fire elemtnal as they throw fireballs more then twice as often or a fire elemental and a demon.
Short version, this whole clearing of the range happened over the course of less then seven minutes real life time and was only 3 people, 2 of which came to and attacked me (zinsizin when I worded to galaodn) sophia showed up when we went to retrieve (you had taken the key 45 times in like 3 days at that point) and you logged on and attacked me right away. What do you want me to say... sorry you decided to attack us?

That said I think Nurok was a great villager and I really thought you were going to wind up as commander and overall I think you would have done a better job. You stuck to village ideals and role played well and were very effective (especialy vs me, you realize you were hitting dismembers on regular hits through ABS stoneskin and vanguard and chewing through 1200 hp and perfected defenses in roughly 6 rounds, without thirsting) I think you raised the bar of role play in the village and well you kicked some ass, but your incesseant whining about one death (you didnt get looted and were without the head for like 10 minutes and for the record devils use controlled fireball not fireball so your whining about me using devils was just silly after the fact, obviously we both knew archons couldn't do anything against maces at that point)

I wasn't pissed about dying...I had full con and 6 trains upon deletion here. What irked me, was after you blicked me with the demon fireball, you two went in and blicked the D. Granted, I had no hard time retrieving...It just left a bad taste in my mouth. Because, I can understand myself dying (IE I run in, cranial, and die to a bug) its just the fact you two pressed on to kill the D that got me upset. By that point you HAD to know it was a bug, and in my book doing something like that is cheating. I thank you for the kind words, and I hold no grudges. I just felt the need to explain the reason I was upset by you two doing that. Normally you were both cool peeps, and took the war in stride..So, I won't let 1 mishap rob you of that

I thought Nurok was great as a Thror follower and a dwarf Villager. I'll post more about your character if/when I die, but definitely a good drillmaster.

I'm not as experienced as you might think - I'm just really good at muds and knowing how to use different skills/knowing the code.

Finally, that incident where we had a squabble about my inactivity - really, our time doesn't match. I've been on 3-5 hours almost every day for the past week. Being a Thror follower, I'm not exactly giving of huts. However, it did leave a bad taste in my mouth - I was about to call you to the circle then give you the boot. I'm glad I didn't.

I'm somewhat new to the leader positions - didn't like them with my previous characters, never wanted one really. Even in this situation, I was waivering if I wanted to be commander - in the end, said might as well and try it out. It's working ok so far in my eyes. I still need to flesh out my rp a bit I think (add more chapters to my role) - but it's a work in progress.

Anyways, good look with your next.

Yeah,

I shoulda held off on that convo until I asked how often you were around. Whats funny is, after that convo (about a week or so) my playtimes dropped to nil, and I felt like quite the jackass. I did have enough time to log in and read your note, but still I just couldn't find the time to really dedicate to CF. Alas, I think you are doing fine. When I say be more of a leader, what I see as turning you from commander, into an excellent commander. Is taking more of an interest in individual players. Obviously, I cannot speak for anyone else, but when we ran around (you in the lead) you don't give too much direction, I know what I am doing, so we never had a problem...but a lot of the newer guys did not/do not know how to react in a surprise pk situation, so handing out that little bit of guidance that would help them out (I realize this is kinda against thror/fire giantness) would really go a long ways? Make sense?

Trying to find a fine line of 'leading' and 'leading' based on what the Village stands for and the religion. It's quite difficult, given that I fleshed my rp out a little later and am still trying to flesh it out.

Yeah We had many fun interactions back when I was in the beginning of my char. Then we kinda went our separate ways. Lol Why did that one incident happen with you and Iunna in Galadon? lol, that made me laugh for a long time.

Not sure exactly what incident in galadon you are referring to. Iunna and I had pleanty of Incidents. If you are talking about a trib warranting her, its b/c she would always blackjack/cranial me as soon as I logged on, and despite being a goddess, occasionally she would miss
