Work goes nuts for me for the next few months, so that had a hand in all of this...
Other than a handful of things... My first thief past say 20 or so. yippee. (Part of my plan to eventually hero every class/race combo) first arial past 20 or so. *rofl*
I initially decided to try a binder when Valryn had one of my characters totally trussed right outside the fort, people were inside and I couldn't call for aid, and he did this creepy RP about what to do with me since I was all tied up. He ended up making me laugh instead of getting all pissed or frustrated. So I thought I could make a thief that was not just universally despised.(Bad move #1)
I learned alot about thieves and had I sat around 30 for a while I'm pretty sure I'd have ended up pretty deadly all by my little self.
Other than that everything about this character was an abysmal failure. I accomplished nothing for the character that the character was supposed to want. I played too much to the players. "Man I hated when I got jacked and my whole inventory was emty when I woke up, we'll let them keep all that stuff." I was sphere greed! What the hell was I doing??!?!? Once I got semi-known for doing that sort of thing I returned damn near everything I took from anyone. All the goals I should have been after I wasn't, and couldn't. I was going to go for the nice SOUNDING evil guy who guts you when you weren't looking. I ended up just a nice guy with a couple of rough spots. I mean if you were a total (explative deleted) I'd knock you out take anything I liked and call in people if even one binding failed. Most of the people who got jacked up by me it wasn't even me that was after you, someone would say over CB they were looking for so and so, and If I could harm you I'd knock you out and tell them where you were, bind you up and go to town. Chiri was like a poor support cast. At hero I couldn't manage anything alone, so I was pertty much stuck setting up the kill for others. (Which I got REAL sick of) Like the constant trip him trip hims. Dude at hero how many of the potential pk's are flying?!?! okay a few villagers aren't and even a few of them were! That's it. If I had good reason to believe that trip was gonna work, okay, if not let it go. (yeah yeah and we already talked about how I had a soft spot for the village and so what if I didn't want to trip them to death.) Again if I really liked the imperial I was with ... trip trippity trip away.
Let's see Oh I had really thought about age death, (one of my goals since I never have pulled it off) but after that last bit, I was headed back to my corpse and thought what's the point? I had realized that there was no way I could meet ANY of the characters goals, I had ruined the character and role way way long ago. and was just trudging along out of stubborness. The stubborn bit was the only thing that got me past where snoring boy got me so riled I wen't completely ooc, and ended up revealing my forum personality. Every other time I've done something remotely like that I just delete the character, even when he is doing well. What can I say He told me who he was and after all the garbage we had just been through over the brat, I went ahead and answered when he asked. I still get a little mad thinking about it. *rofl*
So that all was "failure" for me. I *DID* have fun with alot of it until I didn't anymore, then I played a little longer to see if I could have fun again and I didn't so.... delete delete.
What am I forgetting.... oh who ever did the dark voice thing when I was running around arguing with scanlon, that was cool and sorry. My girl popped in and made a big thing about needing me to help her so I had to go. The archangel at the fort was nice too, but yeah you knew you weren't really meaning to stop me from reaching the palace.
Oh if I ever decide to play a binder again, I'm just gonna kill a pile of folks. that combo of thief points ended up where I saw loads of potential nastiness out of it. *insert evil laugh*
Advice for anyone wanting to play a binder? If you think it's gonna be like other classes where you can practice up the important skills on mobs, forget it, you'll need a long lived race for one and spend a hundred hours or more practicing binding, probably way more. I never mastered ANY of the bindings, nimble fingers was the only thing I got to 100%. What else... in pk unless you have a tank with you, if the blackjack fails flee.... if it works and even ONE binding fails, and you aren't prepped to the nines AND have something they are vulnerable to, don't bother, you can stab them for fun if you want, but unless they are a newbie don't expect a kill. *grin*
Hrm lots of people I should say something too, but I'll forget more than half. so I'll skip it for the person chiri would have said something to.
My empress: Well what can I say, I felt like the lowbie healer in the middle of a mass hero battle, I could maybe pitch in here and there, but not really effectively. Sure once in a while my actions would totally save the day, but not often. It was a pleasure to be of service. (Besides Dalgorin never completely paid you back, so Chiri's loyalty partially came of that. hehe. Again with the playing to the players and not what I should have.)
Have fun everyone!

I see how it is, but maybe I was one of those "annoying" guys that told you to trip too much. I hope not, since we had a pretty good thing going I thought. You focused so much on Kingpin that I totally flew by you in sect donations, and you never seemed to make an effort to catch up. I really liked Chirikaw though, because I could always count on you to mix things up with me. We were a deadly combo, but alas both of us have had less playing time lately. I got a promotion at work which has cut my playing time down, but I still go for a few hours every other day if I can. Anyway, come back with something strong. I didn't think Chirikaw was a failure at all.

That elf applicant dropped link everytime you jacked him Three times? I never went ooc like that. I actually sent a LOG of that via note to village, but erased it right away. Thats how he killed me I come to remember. Regaining link when you where away, and I was stuck and killing me and sacing everything, which was garbage... I told him dont bother playing with that char, I threatened posting notes to Imps, village, Dios, Carrionfields...but I dont do that.

Chirikaw was always up for a fight, and showed about ten times the cojones of some other imperials I can think of. You were as persistant as a killer bee, and I never underestimated what you might be able to do if you managed to knock me out.
I can't tell you how bad I, as a player, felt after killing you that last time. Everyone involved wanted you to come get your things back, and I think two or three things had been taken, tops.
What struck me most about you was your amazingly cool attitude. The only thing I suggest is that when you play an evil, try not to "exude" that obvious trait of your personality so much. I don't mean go and snuff it out, but give off that evil vibe a little more and let your actions do the talking (such as not full looting, nodding at those ever-so-important moments, etc.)
Good luck with whatever else you do.

Hahaha, yeah man invokers were my friggin' bane. hands down. I'd do as well facing ravon as any one of the invokers. sad yeah? (I DID manage to knock out ravon once, but it was passing by in a maze and I was following eoria, during the lag from blackjack we missed any oppourtunity there, not like it mattered much he had a necro buddy with a small army there too. but I jacked him once!)
Don't sweat the last kill bit. It was kinda funny. I knew the song the bard was gonna sing, I was typing in my shortcut for hide;sneak when we passed and fumbled reaching across the keyboard for north. I went nw Huh? dooooomed! I knew it, but it was already time for me to delete was past time actually. but I figured hey one more day right? It was just a good oppourtunity for me to accept that the character was over and done with.
As for evil. I had a kind of semi-friendly evil, but still evil RP going on when I was younger, and I slowly acted nicer until I was a step from, hell acolytes wouldn't have been as nice, let's put it that way. I can hold it off for a while, and I can either to maniacal evil, or creepy evil, sick-twisted-bastard evil (which I haven't done since they made the point of what some people find offensive as that had a fire giant who sexually assaulted the corpses of elves before saccing them. that sort of thing.) And with this guy I don't know how to explain the friendly, but certainly evil guy. He would talk about the kindness he was doing (to groupmates)when he would tell and elven child to relax and shhhhh darling it's okay. just before backstabing them. then explaining how it was cruel to leave the child without parents to fend for them since we had just killed those. That kind of thing... which is hard to do in pk. but I was hoping for a chance when I had someone completely bound and awake again. emote wiping the sweat off thier brow and whispering how it will all be over soon, not to worry. I only had the one chance to do it and I was in a hurry since buddies of his I expected along at any moment.
No matter what I do though, I can't seem to hold the "evil" going for too long, it always slips away. I have too much of my fun making sure other people have a blast, whether they kill me or I kill them. (unless it's those who base thier self-worth off pk in a text game then they only have fun if they kill me, but who cares about those guys?)
I can maybe do a super honorable village evil, but I probably can't do any other kind. *sigh* Darascus was pretty awesome, barring all the charred feathers the little talks now-and-again were top notch. Did Ya like how I got my periapts back? Hahaha. Really I was just stepping into the room lifting one and moving on, after that I was just having a little fun pokin' at ya.

Hehe, for the longest time, you were the only person online who could even sense me in the lands, so I avoided you, then when you came into range, I had been told you were a herald, so I figured as long as I didn't go out of my way to mess with you, you probably wouldn't go out of your way to kill me (ever fought an assassin with a thief?) As long as I didn't talk to you I would have to be forced to RP the If you are not going to help me, hunt my enemies, or join the empire I'll have to try to kill you bit. By the time I had a way to 'handle' heralds with my character's rp it was habit for me to avoid talking to you.

Shoooot, you think THAT raised the bar? Pfft.. you just wait. I worked out towards the end of this character some really cool ideas for tactics. Muhuhahahahaha. Okay so for me going from the idea to effectively putting something to use.... awww man. I'm shafted. Chiri with backup WAS nasty though hehe. I wish I knew more about thief class before, but then again I know more now. I think I'll probably lay off thieves for a while though, I like charging in too much. I don't know how many fights I KNEW I should walk away from but nooooo, I just sighed at the keyboard trying to think of how I was going to replace gear and typed backstab <whoever> Surprisingly, the returning gear thing went over well and almost everyone gave EVERYTHING back. sometimes I even got coins! So how could I as a player take stuff from people after that? it just ruined the whole idea of thieflyness. hehe.
I got sidetracked I don't know where I was going with this... oh! the worst thing was having someone down and out and half tied up and people would come out of the woodwork and start untying them. A binder IF they get someone out AND all the bindings work has a fair chance at a close battle (as with everything in Cf variables apply) but when cabal enemies of the guy you have tied up start untying them Grrrrrrrr. Heh I just assumed it was because they hated the empire (or me specifically) more than they did the other guy. It might have been Hey let's untie the villager and if he kills this guy I'm going to try to grab that *insert item here*
Well anyway I dunno when I'll roll up my next, I feel like it now as I suddenly have a few days off from work, and it's too cold to work on armor outside, but I know about the time I get really into the character work will get too hectic for me to do anything, I'll come home and end up mudding when I should be sleeping. hah!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to an old friend. Good to see you're still kicking on having fun (for the most part!).
I even got to fight you a bit with Philisrhynga in a damn close fight though this time I had no idea who you were playing (In the past I would get this weird feeling who you were playing...probably because of the crazy combo of charging into any situation and you exuding good natured vibes). Anyway, I still remember the days of Lerrik and Silmareen tearing up the east road.
I'm back in school now and can't play much, but I'm sure we'll run into each other again.
Take it easy.

You handled interactions really well, and made things fun. You where the oppositve of evil prick, it was evil fun.
I like how you squeezed around sect laws and loaned coins at reasonable rates, Like when I was nearly dead from something and you gave me coins for the healer... and Chirikaw forgot about it, you didnt *smile*
Wish I stop deleting chars, roll one up now even... cause I am missing out on some good people to interact with over long term.
Kraevu was paranoid of other thieves so thats why I told you "Only a dark lawbringer such as I can truly understand the worth of a shadow order such as yourself" .orsomething, and you where Like heh cool. Im so pissed I deleted that thief, I was going to be vindi quick, had Zridv and Chirkaw to work with on the side, ect ect.
Curious, why not the success of other binders? I know of the "GAH they are one with foiling the blackjack'Kelteon/Daracus thing. Was it low int? Me being a #### with that one character ranking with you in cragstone saying to not waste time practicing binds? sry
I hope I get to interact with the next one.

Jeez you know how many people owed me money? hehe. Yeah as a player I let it go, but occasionally chiri would point it out to someone. or my favorite was after they returned a favor, or saved my hide at the last minute (even on accident) I'd absolve them of the debt just after or some such. That made it where I could feel like chiri's debt collection was being met without being an ass. Next imperial I play though no one gets a loan of any kind and everyone is paying in one form or another for every damn thing. I got sick of it after a while. heh. I'd have oaths swear personal loyalty to me after sect and empire in leiu of paying me for bloodoath or promotion. (personally I thought paying to get in was silly. I can see the promotion though it's like bribing your way up a corrupt entity.)
as for poor success as a binder.. I just never sat down to practice the bindings long enough I guess. I mean I used them often enough but ye gods there was just no way really to master the bindings without level sitting as you get each one, or JUST practicing them on mobs for hours on end. I am not really fond of that. I like to play. but I think maybe twice in my life I got all the bindings done on someone, one I killed, the other got untied by someone else while I was doing it or something.
Kraevu and gularys were around when I was still being 'evil' before I got too 'nice? honorable?' and yeah that was a fun sort of evil.

Why the delete when so close as an arial?
Thanks for getting my Thunderlance back that time and not destroying it, as you easily could as another sect. You made a lot of Imperial life tolerable since it was usually just me and you around quite a bit.
Good luck with the next!
