Had ALOT of fun with you. My plans were to trick you into someday when, as I planned Eoria would die, aid me in getting enough votes for emperor for the promise of being dreadlord. Seem you got it anyway, and I guess your plan was in the lines with mine, but instead being emperor yourself. Never mind, was still alot of fun.

Felt a bit bad that time I let that drillmaster kill you, but wasn't going to risk myself to save you. And got him killed anyways and saved your weapon. heh

Good luck with your next one!

See you in the fields.

Well!
Been in germany for a couple of days but returned now and it seems my deletion has popped up. Vanakoth was alot of fun around 36 to 40 - played mostly as a stab at arial aps. I have to say the sleep/spellup/vault combination is very powerful at those levels.

Being an imperial wasn't as much fun as it used to be with no emperor for most of Vanakoths life and then when things got interesting and Eoria got the position Savarnic deleted (perhaps to avoid being ousted?). Thank you all for the positive feedback on the recruitment note. I felt a bit like a whimp when I wrote it cause I knew I wasn't a powerhouse - but at the same time it felt appropriate.

I think alot of people may be interested in who was worth the most charges. Interestingly it was noone other than myself when Decl managed to trick me into Ravon when I was sung up from fighting Xhirathos (had that fantasia song among others). Decl was supposed to lead me to him so I could finish him off but instead he lead me to the Chancellor who slept me and ganged me with Chrichuk. 5 charges. Runners up were Yrillbink and Folsa both worth 4.

Though Vanakoths role was to not interact much I got to brush shoulders with some interesting characters during his life.

Jhuutr managed to get under my skin (as he should) when I got slept by Yrillbink after we had raided the island and we were walking back. I cb'd that I was slept but got ignored (he was in the area when it happened). I managed to teleport out barely alive. So naturally that lead to some interesting interactions following that, and absolutely no trust. I think he still blames me for that death to Chrichuk in the Chasm.

Eoria always carried an air of confidence and is a natural Empress but one of those things that I wondered about was why she's called Empress but not War Mistress when she held that position? All the same an excellent player, rp, explore and pkwise.

Yrillbink was a slippery bastard I loved to fight. That one time I got you and looted some of your #### even though it was a duel was utterly in response to the #### I lost in the sewers during our previous duel some days earlier. (:

Throkk the staff wielding bash specialist was always interesting to fight. That one time I did manage to get you slept and pumped plagues I just couldn't get you to drop your weapon. What is that thing made of, air? Interesting fights all the same.

I fought Huewop alot both before and after oath and I think I managed to get off some sleep/vault kills and then that last kill on the aryth not long ago was very rewarding.

Pesawwkt (: man. There is so much to say. You were always an interesting opponent, especially after getting leader position. At the same time I never knew if you were going to be worth a charge or no charges at all. Good fights.

Teutonium, you were interesting aswell. We had many entertaining fights.

Elemek, yeah I went toe to toe with you with abs and stone skin up and you utterly outdamaged me so from that point on I got cautious towards fighting you. I knew I needed some kind of edge to defeat you and early lashes wasn't the answer. I needed despoil damnit!

There are many, many others that I interacted with and fought. Give a shout and I'll gladly reply with my thoughts of your character - if it interests you.

One final note, the black sect powers are a joke (: no I don't mean sigil of pain, but someone should really throw some juice on the other ones. Dark feast has that unfortunate side effect of giving you plage/crimson if you used it to kill your opponent and given the rather small bonus it offers (and the requirement that you have to kill the opponent to get it) it's seldom worth it. Maybe if it would have given that bonus on all PC corpses ... I don't know. Black circle gives your opponents time to notice you're in the area and teleport out or prepare for combat. Power of the damned I never got to use as there very rarely was another summoner in range, but yeah I can understand times when its usable. But given that it's such a cornercase power ... yeah I don't know.

Some rambling there. But I guess the reasoning is to give them weak powers as they get to cooperate with alot of other classes but in reality that is not so much the case.

Anyway, have a good one - and thank you to the Imms for a great game!

You have the distinction of having the best bard note to all. Your note was a refreshing break from Kelteon's barrage of annoyance.

I think you underestimate the dark feast, summoning and feasting on lowbie corpses can be pretty effective.

I would like to see Black Sect with something offensive though. Ghoul touch or something added to the fray. At least for Dreadlord.

Nice char by the way.,

They're already very powerful kinds of character. Putting them into a cabal with an array of possible political allies makes them even more powerful. Some of the most powerful liches/aps have been emperors. They don't need more power than they do at the upper echelons

Black circle is the bomb for summoning - you just have to prepare before hand. Kinda like a trapper thief. Know where you opponents going, and be ready for it. It shines most in raids, when you don't want to be wasting mana on failing summons. That's 50 mana a pop, and the black circle cuts out almost all failures.

But I agree completely on Dark feast. Getting disease from the corpses your raid, is really annoying. And it does limit it for pk useage. The only thing I used it for was ranking - I'd tank, eat a corpse or two, then tank some more.

Don't confuse Emperor powers with Black sect powers. Feast is pretty lame, and circle is meh.

Feast is a decent levelling/regearing tool in the right hands, though I agree that its PK utility is minimal.

Black circle, though... you're insane.

I'm hesitant to make a sweeping statement like: "In the hands of a good player, there's no deadlier cabal power in the game", but... yeah, it's in that class for me. Give me the choice between BC and insect swarm on a necromancer and I'll have to seriously think about it... and then I'll probably pick BC.

Having played both sides of the coin, I think that Black sect is slightly worse than Scion powers in that Scion powers are more effective a higher percentage of the time, but Emperor powers are much better then Scion powers. I think they are sufficently different to make the game a lot more interesting.

Dark feast is quite good in my opinon. Black circle is nice in that it will sometimes let you get quite lucky against strong players. Power of the damned isn't as cool now that there aren't roving Maran gangs summoning into multiple bashers. I think if anything, that power needs some sort of bonus, like resist negative, or immunity to curse, or something.

Vanakoth: Yeah, that Voralia episode was pretty lucky for me. I'm surprised you didn't come after me more, especially when you had low/almost no charges. Only have to hit the lottery once. Around the same time Savarnic got me slept and fully spelled up, with all protections down, at the entrance to a sect guardian. He made a mistake, but given a similar opportunity I don't think you would have. Good luck with your next.

This is one of those characters that was just so close to being a real beast, but, the odds just didn't help you when you needed it most. Keep them coming.

I think I said it already but I agree with one of these others here... that I think you would have made a better dreadlord and I even had a much tougher time fighting you than him. You seemed to have a good grasp on how far you could push yourself in your fights and knew your preps and areas to fight well. I still have that one fight on the Aryth if you would like to see what I saw I can give it a post. I will say that certain of the powers gained are very powerful in specific situations, and many times when say you have paladins, or shamans, or even other antipaladins after you that they can be very useful. I will agree about dark feast but it does come in handy certain raid/counter raid situations well they are times I have seen it come in handy. Oh and black circle is rather nice also in raids, ambush situations, or after raids but can be used in other situations as well. Anyway good luck with your next, and come back soon if your not already.

Sleep was the great equalizer, as soon as you got it landed I knew it was run away or dead.
I liked that after a while you stopped the ganking and came on solo more.

Well more thoughts when I die.
Wish you had hung in there as DreadLord and we could have fought more.

I was always itching for a fight with you, but I never seemed to be able to find you or I was stuck in a tight spot when someone did spot you. As Perdray I did not get to speak to you any, if at all, but I especially loved the missive you sent out regarding weeding out the few potential citizens from the rest of the Theran scum. Very Dreadlordish. Luck in whatever you choose to do next.

Man That one time you slept me on the road out side the Inn, And then you Slept Xhirathos when she came to rescue me. then You killed me and possibly her? I forget that part. Though it was a bad memory... Hope it was fun for you! I could see how that would be funny on your part. Ha and That one time I decided to take the Teleportation potion for the "First time" and I ended up porting infront of you!

Man I kept trying to not fight and stuff though I always ended up in those awkward positions.

Good times though! It made it more dramatic for me though. I enjoyed those interations.

We fought some in the thirties, and then again at hero. I don't think any of us got the other, but we had some close ones.

I enjoyed your recruitment note too.

Too bad our times didn't mesh well the last couple of weeks.

Have fun with the next.

as I don't consider pecking you, and then you teleporting, a fight. Heard you being plenty gutsy with other scions in fights but I never saw it but was always up for a tangle. You would have been a better dread lord that Savarnic but thems the breaks.
