Well, that sure was a long ride. I didn't want to stretch it out this long, but I just don't like deleting a character like that. Which makes things kind of hard, since most of the time I'm logged on I spend guild-sitting (or guild-standing), waiting for something to happen. I'm sure anyone who saw me will agree. But I guess I'm really exhausted with it now, and decided to just let it auto. And now it's time for a lengthy semi-rant, semi-biographical post that will quite probably turn you off.
Yes, I'm a newb. I started playing several years ago, but only with a few characters that ever made it past 30, only one of which made hero (you might remember that terribly stupid Fortie invoker named Mereacon several years ago. No, I don't have the slightest idea who played it, not at all, no). I only have some basic knowledge of the game, and terribly worthless in PK terms. It's really hard to get into the game when everyone playing is a vet and information is so hard to come by (yes, there's that site, but any attempts in getting some great equipment is usually quickly shot down by the presence of an aggro mob that's way too tough for me to tackle). I only made it this far because a friend showed me the ropes back when I started, and, well, that's about as far as my CF lore went.
I won't lie, I'm an IMMteraction whore. I figured, if I can't PK for nuts, I might as well RP it out the best I can. To do that I got myself a somewhat involved role (although I have to say, it isn't as good as I thought it was), lots of entries (most of which are annoying and pointless since I ran out of fresh ideas), and lots and lots of talking to myself. I must've done something real wrong, because I hadn't gotten anything much (aside from that one xp and skill gains from an IMM, don't know who it was, but thanks). Not that I'm bitter or anything, just somewhat dismayed, but I guess there were other folks more deserving than me. Kept trucking, though, but things get dry real fast when you don't know what to do once you hit hero.
Early on, it was already the plan to join Tribunal, since it matched my role and because I'd liked to join a cabal that doesn't really require that much skills to stay in (no offense to Tribunal, but if I'd been an Imperial, I would've been kicked and anathema'd long ago). Only after that did I learn that for some reason, Tribunal is the No. 1 Public Enemy of sorts. Apparently all of us are branded full-looters, even though I barely looted anything from corpses (that really has more to do with the fact that I can't PK for nuts). It was a great stint, though. I've gotten past that phase where I'd get really pissed off to be killed/looted, and so I don't really mind when I return to my corpse to find it empty. It really helps to know where to get some fairly decent gear, so at least I won't be running around naked asking for donations. Also got a lot of complaints on people getting WANTED/people not getting WANTED, but they were mostly quite enjoyable to deal with, since I don't remember a lot of them to be OOC-driven complaints (or I think...) I also quite appreciate the chance for Provincial. Granted, there weren't a lot of folks to fill in the spot when I was promoted, which is probably why I got it, but thanks anyway.
One thing I'm still puzzled: how in the world do you folks manage to invest that much time in CF? I sit in front of the computer quite a lot (read: whenever I'm not at school), but I'm still loaded with a bunch of things to do. Granted, CF is not on top of the list of the things I'd like to do when I get some free time, but it's still pretty high up. The best I can do is try to login for 1-2 hours every day, but that fell apart quick. It probably doesn't help that I'm practically required to not leave my computer for those few hours that I'm logged in.
With all that drivel I've said, you'd think I have a gigantic goodbye list, but I realized it's quite hard to say anything when I don't spend a lot of time logged in. Sorry about that, but thanks to all the folks that I've interacted with, good or bad. Now taking all comments/impressions/insults/threats to loot my n00bie br34dz.
Thanks to whoever gave me the title. Is it an automatic thing once the character is a year old or something similar? I seem to remember it popping up around the one year mark.
And a cheap plug: buy my PBF to be rewarded with seeing my awesome PK score of *5-<insert 2 digit number here>!
(Special thanks to Twist for telling me I can actually vanish in town after that utterly humiliating beatdown of me by a thief in Galadon. I've tried it inside the guild, and it failed, so I figured I can't use it in town. Then I got a genius idea and went outside, tried it out, and it worked! That gave me an excuse to spam vanish in town when nothing is happening)
* -One from a lowbie fight that I can't remember how I won -One from a kill steal. A Magistrate asked for help in Hamsah and I headed there. Went into the room where he was fighting, engaged, and realized the criminal was already convulsing. Landed the last blow before I could flee. -One from a naked convulsing ghost invoker spamming iceslick in Market Square. There were a bunch of people standing around, and he casted again right after he unghosted, leading to a huge retaliation gangdown. Landed the last blow. -One from a gangdown with Paskat and several guards. Landed the last blow. -One from a kill steal from my guards.

Welcome!
The most important thing when playing a game is that YOU are having fun. It's why we play games, right? Ofcourse, you should be respectfull to other players.
Invest as much time as YOU want to/can. Yes, some people spend like 1/3 or (much) more of their days on CF, so it's logical they'll rank faster and learn the game faster than you. Though I doubt that it's healthy in the long run. So ... ignore them. It's not necessary to rank up as fast as possible to have fun. The fun starts at level 1, or it should, at least.
It all depends on YOUR expectations. If you expect to hero real fast and you fail, it's not a lot of fun. So don't expect to hero asap, and try have more fun on the way there.
On the RP front, rp for YOURSELF. It will make you stand out, and people WILL come towards you, as they recognize your efforts, and they will enjoy being around you. From there, everything else is an added bonus. Something that will happen naturally, given time.
For PK especially, don't expect anything. If you kill someone, great! if you don't, better luck next time. It will come, gradually, maybe slowly, but it will come.
Just my 2 cents "What is mind, don't matter. What is matter, nevermind!" - Homer J. Simpson.

I think your the only tribunal who rp'ed worth a damn and didnt full gank loot and bitch constantly ok thats a sweeping generalization hahhaha but seriously you had some cool side shadykinda rp going about keeping the laws and order and stuff but kinda doing it in a way that worked to benifit you.
When the village went to war with the spire, the first time, because the spire would raid with empire and scion and nexus and warrent us all the time for next to nothing (but they bitch us out for warring with them because we are bored or have nothing to do) you were the only one to auctually make a case and talk about things. You also made a good case and for the most part if I caught a glimpse of you on I would hold off the lets take the scales since were all warrented for nothing anyway and there led by magi plan cus you were a magi and you didnt warrent for nothing and you didnt do any of the normal things that most tribunals are 100% guilty of. In a way, you saved them from utter rapings a few times hahah
Well done, Good char, Good luck with your next... maybe give a villager a shot eh ? haha try our "career criminal" and victems of "labeling theroy" side for a change heh.
*** Cries go up from galadon "DINGOS ATE MY BABY" *** *** with the tribunal puzzeled on who to flag they*** *** go with the obvious decision... FLAG ALL OF BATTLE*** *** nexian shapshifters far and wide giggle endlessly ***

Advice from another newbie Usually better to delete high level characters for the game if you know you're done, since
1. You free up a leadership position for other character who are active
2. You free up equipment et al that is limited.
Hope to you see for an hour or two a day as someone else in the fields! A tribunal assassin has the ability to be really successful in PK. You were definitely an ominous scarecrow for my characters
