This character was a learning characeter for me. This was my second character my first a scion assassin named Ajleefah. I hated scions so wanted something different. I have always loved the idea of a sylvan, so I tried my hardest to become one. I got into the cabal but failed at being a good warder. Uller you did the right thing perhaps in my higher ranks I lost sight in what was the calls of the wild. I stunk at fighting and killed very few. My whole life seemed to be trying to climb out of an experience hole. Woodelves are hard to play so if you are new to this game I would not recomend them. Thanks to all who played a part in Laksera's life. Since I am new to this game I am horrible at names but do recall one SANDAL. I hated you since you where born. Nice roleplay however; still I hope you die a thounds deaths.

Side note: Please do something with rangers creep and snare have been made too weak. I had sneak perfected and stepped out all the time. No one should be able to cut their way from a snare. One of the only things a ranger has goin for them other than ambush, but not everyone wants to play a cloud giant ranger. Hate snaring a group attacking one of three people then have one of them break loose the snare and beat me to death with a spell.

I actually liked you after i stabbed you once and robbed you blind the second time. I actually traded that stuff i stole from you so cheap cuz i didnt really have a use for it. Thanks for your help with *you know what*. Remember what i told you about thieves...if im visible it doesnt mean im not close by.

well I cant say I feared you much, but I fealt bad about killing you in the frozen wastes when you only wore a girdle and a sword. Had I known you where close to naked Id left you alone, but I could not resist the oppurtunity.

You know you would have been out of those holes if it wasn't for Siacla and Jhaolyren and to an extent me (but then even I did need th learning)

49 is not a good rank to delete, but then warlock are not tame enemeies either.

We had some decent times and heavy learning periods together.

CLoud giants of the ranger guilds dont "suck" nor do ranger.

You can contain, you have got bear charge (agreed it sux)
but you also have lash ! It works swell !

-Not everyone has a reason to get you armor. I've seen you ask quite a number of people, and get offended when they don't aid, whereas it would seem they have no particular reason to help you at all. Why should people risk *their* lives to get *you* armor? You're not a dawnie afterall.

Just maybe understand that not everyone plays the game to be super elite killers, charitable honorable unstoppable forces of destruction, or the like. Just as in real-life, everyone has a right to play their character any way they choose, and if that means stepping on toes, then all the more interesting. *tips his hat*

More to the point, Laskera wasn't a Dawnie. Hell, even Dawnies aren't REQUIRED to happily dash off to get you eq, at risk of their own lives.

Like I said, since when is it a 100% certainty that someone will react how you expect? Does he have to be thankful that you heroed him? Does he have to think the lich can whip his butt 10 ways to sunday? Maybe he thinks you are a coward for not finding a reason to fight the lich, maybe he's so glad that he got his armor that he doesn't wish to let it go...These are all valid reactions to have, nothing overtly pathetic about them. Now, it may be pathetic in your eyes, but that doesn't mean it is pathetic to an onlooker. I shall give you an example...

The rest is along the same lines of thought. Now no offense, but I've seen you almost constantly ask complete strangers to come with you to get gear, and then be just about thankless if they do. I could term you pathetic based on your logic regarding that, but I'm not going to because that is your roleplay. Laksera finished his char, let what happened happen, but this isn't the place to put people down for how they played their characters, its a place to reminiss about the fun and such. If you didn't like his char, maybe you played right into his hands...If I hated every scion and evil character OOC for their IC actions, I'd be a fool, because you have to be able to separate the player from the character. Now I'm not saying Laksera is the best roleplayer on earth, but there is a time, like here on the Graveyard, when you have to be the bigger person and be willing to see the good things instead of all the faults and flaws. Maybe try not to be so petty over the whole thing, and shed a kind word or say nothing at all.

That's what being a sylvan is all about; getting killed by warlocks. If you won't defend your cabal, you shouldn't be in it (there are exceptions).

Siacla thought she was on the brink of destroying Galadon, and had killed almost all the defilers about. Obviously that wasn't true.

I just wanted to encourage you, Lakshera that is, not to let the criticism discourage you. I only interacted with you the once, and you responded to my roleplaying attempts in kind - something I can't say of every player.

I hope you had fun. Carrion Fields is a game, and the point is to have *fun* roleplaying and fighting with other players. Attacking powerful characters just to see how well you to CAN be fun too, and as long as you have fun and sound IC reason to do so, go for it.

Anyways, I just wanted to say something because I don't think any player deserves to get publically berated in an OOC forum like this. Even if some of Bethrella's criticisms are true, I still don't think you deserve it. CF has a reputation of being "newbie unfriendly", and while I'm a long time player, this being my first mortal in literally years I know it can be a challenging game. I'd like to see more newbies get some encouragement so CF has a future.

So good luck with your next character, and don't worry about criticisms like this. Remember the annonymity of the internet can cause some people <ahem> to forget their tact. It's fun to play basketball with people who are good at it, even if you're not, and no one in rl would tell you you're "pathetic" for inadvertently travelling or trying for a challenging shot. Keep trying, have fun, and if the criticism isn't constructive, ignore it!

My first inclination was to nuke it earlier, but by the time I got to it, the replies posted did a good job of explaining why Bethrella is way off base. The thread as it stands seems more instructive than if it wasn't there.

I disagree with alot of what you just said. Snare was made to be more realistic recently, and it was both improved and deproved, so..it's something we'd call a "balanced power" now. Of creep, with perfected creep and fastcamo, you shouldn't have popped out very often at all. Whether or not you had fastcamo, I can't say. One thing I will tell you, however, is that rangers are not warriors. Don't be afraid to put up aura and shield, haste and stoneskin. That can easily turn the tide of a fight.

And woodelves can't be -too- hard to play, there were a few in sylvan a fair while past, Paelnor and Ferrali were two of them that I remember.

Well, I can't say that I'm surprised that you deleted especially after you talked about it when you died while we raided Tribunals. I'm soryr you died, but we outfitted you well to make sure you would find some hope. You deffinately overestimated what a ranger could do, and need to learn a bit more about it. However, if this is only your second character, my first piece of advice is, stop giving up. If you delete every time the road gets tough, you will never know how much fun the tough road can be. My favorite chars are those that faced adversity, and those that even (con) died. The ones I remember least are those I deleted at like 200 hours, because they didn't really do anything. I want to keep Danical around til he dies of old age, so we will see. Anyway, your next char, take it all the way to hero and stick it out, don't start other characters to play, just play the one, I guarantee more fun that way. Oh well, just the thoughts of a friend of yours, one that you couldn't "remember." Which, thats another comment, write some names down if you have to, there are a few of us who spent a lot of time with you, who get zero from it. No, I don't need th recognition in front of others, but it would be nice ot hear comments from a "friend."
