You were fun. Sorry to see you go. I wish our times had meshed a little more closely, I would have enjoyed a few more interactions with the famous Kingpin.

You were a good gold gatherer...and obviously an ally to all.

Desmonn has a little different philosophy about Galadon and
the thieves guild....but yours was good. And it afforded you
ample opportunities to donate gold.

I will write more when I'm dead...but cheers to you and I've already made it clear your tiny little shoes will be hard to fill. Whomever fills them.

More Imperials

Urog- Don't remember if I got you in the last note, but I do know that for the first probably five hours we ran around together, I was seriously sure you were about to attack me at any time.

Shanta- Boy did I get you good, when I had that sphere in my inventory in case you stole it, but it was only a counterfeit. Did you ever notice that?

Lothorectred- I was almost shaking that time when I went up to make a treaty after Blitzenturt died and you and Urog were getting more and more insistent about me Oathing. Well played. You certainly inspired fear in me.

Scions
First and foremost
Hylondin- You were a really good friend of Hipsin. I would have never guessed you were even close to being con-dead, as we must have grouped for about 50 hours, and you only died once or twice in that time. Good luck with the next, I truly enjoyed your company.

Restraal- Have fun with the mask if you get it. We travelled a lot and got to know each other descently well. Good luck to you with your endeavors.

Akscereh- Got to know you a little bit, but not as much as I tried to. I think I got you to 'neutral' in your looking at Hipsin, but I was going to try and make you an ally.

Katithia- I never did actually get you anything, but that doesn't mean I didn't try. I had word out for your things you wanted with lots of people and I didn't get the two Avello's until after you were dead, ah well.

Sargataneous- It was fun contracting to help you get your quest items for mummyhood, it was too bad we never got the job done.

Graanak- Heh, I don't know if some thief has gotten you good in your life, but it was never Hipsin. Seriously, Hipsin didn't steal much from anyone, he valued the profit he might make from them as allies far more than anything he could steal from them.

Xalvime- Had some good running around with you, take care.

Tuk and Jal- Sorry about the whole bounty thing, you did alright with it though

Vanzohk- Well played, was sorry to see you go even though I didn't see you much

Acolytes- In general, for a long time I spoke to any of you that logged on on behalf of Raja. Thank you all for all of the time and interaction.

Lyrathuriel-Well played, it was fun always bugging you as you attained your various shields.

Shisi- Man did I want that stoneform amulet. I can't believe the things I offered to trade you for it that you turned down. It would have been perfect for Hipsin because he never died.

Urjun-Good stuff. You were the only 'someone' who ever seemed to speak to me. Good interaction all around on several different levels and in several different regards.

Brordaran- "The Singing Paladin" One of Hipsin's best friends growing up, before hero, seems so long ago now.

Rouchevian and Elstratuviel- You were so long ago now that I hardly remember, but your names came to me as I was writing these, and if I remember you for this long, you must have been important.

Wungar- That's pretty weak luring back someone whose naked and just been killed to talk so you can kill them again.

Selreen- A well played paladin. Enjoyed my interactions with you.

Villagers
Acaga- You were literally the only person who Hipsin betrayed in his whole life. I still feel bad about that, more from an IC standpoint than an OOC one. You have to admit though, containerstealing a quest item is a new one.

Arrazn- You were a good friend of Hipsin's. I think you might have given all that stuff to him for free to keep him from stealing from you, but he wouldn't have anyway.

Gerylanst- My own personal herald. You sure didn't do much to earn your pay. I thought it would be a good chance for some interaction, but a well. I still enjoyed what little interaction we did have.

Tribunal
Flixsotopeck- It was good to know you, always trying to get you to go places and do things, but, like every tribunal, always busy it seems.

Salsipuedes- Didn't group with you much, but did talk with you a lot, very enjoyable.

Melacarfina- Thanks for the goodbye note. I wish Androkin was still around to leave one, but I definitely appreciate the thought.

Klendalstak- Good interactions, I had this whole thing where I was going to come up with another story each time anyone asked me about my history, but the same person never asked me twice. I was glad we got to talk about our origins, but even to Hipsin, everything he told you in that department was made up.

Outlander
Thresinok- You were the last person to kill Hipsin, and you did it while he was link-dead, but that will happen. I still can't believe all the things that can transpire when you don't even have your mind. I'm glad I at least found out about those things though.

Tjok- I thought for the longest time that I would automatically be your enemy. I am glad that it was not the case, as we even got to know each other fairly well. You are one hell of a character.

Zilraeth- I assumed I would be your enemy for the longest time, and probably stole more from you than any other person until I found out that you were not going to jump me on sight. After that, we got to interact a bit and you were a beast.

Last but not least, other friends-
Raikorsai and Jynx- Enjoyed both of your company very much when Hipsin was at the Inn. Right about now, in the Inferno, Hipsin would give a hundred years of torture for an endless supply of Gnomish Delight.

That little gnome invoker who I always talked about being king with.- Lots of fun. Good luck as you come into your own. I was impressed that you were an invoker practicing spells in the pine forest and were not botting, keep up the good work.

Esfergref "The Dirty Undergrounder" - Enjoyed ribbing you about being a svirf, and prodding and prodding until you made Gnomish Delight for the first time. I thought it was hilarious the time you refused and gave me 'Svirfnebli Delight' instead, and I said it tasted like dirt, but that it was fitting because a Svirfnebli is dirty.

Kelin- Didn't know you well, but I was very impressed by the things you knew about the game. What interactions we did have, I both enjoyed and was very impressed.

Grollina- Good interactions all around. For the last hour of my life, I spent much of it hoping to catch you out of form so I could say goodbye.

Thorst- Well played, you went out with a bang to Hipsin, hope you are enjoying your next character.

Reiginsai- Boy did you try and assassinate em a bunch, but ended up being one of the three or four people Hipsin ever actually killed. You made Hipsin be unlazy when you would go invisible and try and assassinate him. He disliked having to put an effort out to go get scrolls. I'm glad we made peace.

To anyone else I interacted with, thank you for the interactions, and if I didn't write you down, please send me a note and I'll get back to you, promise.
Grant

Heh, can't believe you still remember that. Yea I tried to assassinate tons of people, suprised me that you didn't have detect invis up those times. Dieing to you and Melfie wasn't my greatest moment but at least I got even with Melfie.

Great job on getting Kingpin and all, not sure how it all works but it must've taken some work. Well done.

I liked Hipsin. I enjoyed our travels together. You seemed very knowledgable of things in game, ie. area knowledge, and I tried to learn as much as I could from you. I honestly didn't think you would be gone by now. I thought gnomes lived forever!

Good job! See you in the fields.

You are right, you did carry a buttload of wands, I think the most I ever saw on you was seventeen wands, and I wasn't sure how that was even possible. You had a bag, seventeen wands, and nothing else, I was impressed, to say the least.
Anyway, Ciao
Hipsy
BTW, are you male or female IRL? Doesn't matter too much, but if you are a male, if I would have ever played a female, that's how I would have done it.

When I saw you and Carbaudah, that Outlander druid, grouped together with Hylondin, there was nothing more ironic or funny. I was playing some random lowbie at the time. An Outlander in a group with the Kingpin of Galadon, who is also travelling with a nightwalker using Scion invoker. This should not show that badly on you, but as the Outlander, come on. What are people thinking? I think that situation could be called, "When gear attacks, shinies blind all roleplaying."

Its difficult killing a Galadon thief with acrobatics and and shadow disappear, or whatever skill makes you get out of battle. Very annoying. The time I got you was pure luck. You were most likely lagged out. You were in the Tribunal cabal trying to steal from me as I raided. Apparently you were one step too far inside and they warned you and you didn't move so they went down and warranted you and manacled you. The manacles made a huge difference in me being able to bash you. That had got to suck, sorry about that. Take care.

I was following you in Galadon, putting out fires as you started them when I lost my mind. My internet crashed so bad I wasn't able to log on for a week for more than 10 minutes without crashing again. I finally got spyware and removed 167 files. I was kind of mad, but all the gear came back and really, Hipsin didn't care about gear, he cared about the image that good gear brought to him.

but then i did not bring raja there to talk, you brought him, after i clearly told you his deathmark ment i aattack him on sight regardless od circumstance so you can blame that death of hers on you. Once someone is titled deathmark its pointless to argue about wether they are good or evil, they are evil, evil extends beyond eating babies and saccing villages and raja's evil was the greatest of all, trechery, forgive my spelling. Keep in mind hipsin of this thing we call role playing, maran kill evil, raja was epitome of evil, therefore, wungar kill raja, he took it fine, you didn't.

As for my thoughts on hipsin, I think it was obviosu that you were logging on once a month to just keep your char from dieing and so you would not loose your shiny set. In my opinion as a player if you accumulate an incredible set you damn well better be using it instead of gear hoarding it. In your younger years I interacted with you and you were pretty cool, just not so much in your older years.

If you only log in once a month and don't lose your eq to the hoarding code, your set can't really be all that sweet to begin with. The imms have taken steps to see that this sort of "preservation of teh Uber set" doesn't go on anymore.

Yep some thief has, but I know which one or two or three? they are. I was just threatening you for fun. Good job and I have to say it was always neat to see the Kingpin walking around visible in Galadon while I was charging through. I thought that was 100% the way a kingpin would act. Bodies flying around, buildings burning, people running around and theres this little guy just taking a stroll watching the action, knowing no one is going to touch him.

Very well done.

Granaak.

I dealt with you with three characters, Brordaran, Yuyuya and Jhishesh. Brordaran though was by far the most, we did a bit of ranking together and then some exploring, though not as much at the end as I'd hoped. You were always fun and funny. I'm glad you enjoyed the time with Bror, I know I enjoyed the time with Hip. Take care and good luck.

In response to Reply #0

Well, here are my goodbyes to the people I can remember
I'll start with the Imms that I got along with and liked

Qaledus- Man, you are awesome. I enjoyed ever single second I interacted with you. I'm going to put it on you to get those cool changes I thought of Implemented. I don't know if it is cool or not, but if you ever want to drop me a line for anymore ideas I have, my email is gb4676@yahoo.com Finally got me moved to Galadon, eh? *Wink* Seriously though, maybe just for the Galadon guild, when you join that guild, you should be moved to Galadon as a price for initiation. I didn't have guild protection, but that would suck to have it and be stuck living in Bryn Shandar your whole life.

The Immortal that always took over my giant mercenary- I'm assuming it was Qaledus, but those were some of my funnest times. I thought it was hilarious when my giant mercenary was wearing a darkened helm, a special ring from the Galadon guild, and a few other things. Also, when you goosed Raja, I'm not sure if she even knew it was an Imm controlling the mercenary, I thought it was funny

Talia- My first Immortal. You were pretty cool also, until you disappeared. I don't know if you'll even see this, but Immortal quests are something I enjoy more than anything else. I don't know why more Imms don't just drop a little quest to people that would take about five minutes more often.

Muuloc- We ran around a lot, I enjoyed it a lot. I was honored that you took the time to tell me what you did, about resubmission. It didn't work out, and I kind of wish I wouldn't have brought it up again, but thanks.

Dreaa- It was lots of fun interacting with you as well. I don't know if anything even ever happened with those spheres, but man, I had the real one the whole time, I was just trying to decide what to do with them.

Urog- Man, you should owe me some money IRL for all the coins that you owed me when you Immed. I think I had given close to 1.4 million to you, though only 1 was a loan.

Now on to the Mortals

Most Importantly, the thieves
Galadon Guild
Polmier- It was really you that made Hipsin what he was. Hipsin was, by nature, fairly lazy, expending only what effort it took to keep up his level of comfort. You donating so much is really the only reason that Hipsin ended up donating as much as he did. His final total was $25,000,000, but after you were gone, Hipsin had so much spare coin that he never needed to worry about it again. I easily paid the membership fees for the Galadon Guild for thirty to fourty thieves, as well as invested over 2 million coins in the Hamsah guild to buy Elite supporters. I also paid about six people up to Elite status when I thought they were doing a good job. That I had these coins was directly because of you.

Desmonn- You, Kak and Polmier are the people who stand out most as the people who 'should have been Kingpins if Hipsin wasn't around. Good luck taking over, I hope you do well in the short time you have left.

Kak- Well played, you would have made a good Kingpin

Raja- Truly the most longstanding friend of Hipsin's life. I don't understand why the Imms treated an obvious newbie as you the way they did when you tried so hard all because you wanted to work at the Inn, but then again, I guess I'm not Imm material

Igarla- A good friend of Hipsin's, I had a lot of fun interacting with you and trying to get you to run the 'Galadon Thieves Guild Bar' Oh well, wasn't meant to be

Tiburona- Well played, perhaps you will soon be the next Kingpin, you have it in you if you go after it.

That other female thief that is in my guild right now- For some damn reason, I can't remember your name for the life of me, though that should not take away from how great our interaction was and how much I thought of you as a character.

Gringora and Arcaloh- Both came off as extremely talented thieves if you would have just stuck it out and played

Naloueme- You went bye-bye a long time ago, but I still remember our interactions well. Take care, be well, good luck with the next

Tonri- You made things interesting for me, what with having Imperials and Villagers in the same guild. I think we came to a descent way to keep everyone happy.

Calheil- You were the only time Hipsin really took a stand in his life. He normally made friends with everyone. The hatred he had for you was surpassed by nothing. You are a talented player, though it would bother me when you would drop your whole inventory before you risked coming after me.

Hentogi-Well played for the most part, when Calheil and I were fighting, I always wanted you to side with Galadon Guild.

Galadon Honorary Guild members(People who paid the initiation fee that were not thieves)
Cadothu- Until you died, easily Hipsin's best friend. I enjoyed running around together and exploring and just interacting at the Inn.

Androkin- Hipsin's other best friend. We did so much exploring together and had so much fun, you truly are a treasure to Carrion fields, actually, in many ways you reminded me of Cadothu

That felar Tribunal- You were well played, though you age died probably four months ago or so, so I don't remember your name.

And now for Cabaled people
Empire
Blitzenturt- It was fun being your lackey behind the scenes. Our relationship was different from any other I had with anyone else. It was lots of fun.

Ceiekalak-It was one of Hipsin's top priorities to maintain peace with you, you are very tough.

The funny thing is, you weren't supposed to become Kingpin
unless you moved your own self there, but the thing with
you and Polmier was so much fun I had to make an exception.
Little did I know how many headaches it would cause and that
I wouldn't be able to fix it for (almost) your entire life.

I was very proud to have you as a follower.

Hip,

Every night I'd log on, I'd look for you - but I guess our playing times didn't mesh too well. I loved the fact that you'd RP with the members of your guild, making an effort to get to know us.

Hopefully I can take something from our meetings to make my char (and future chars) better - benevolence, willingness to help, among others. You will be missed.

Awesome thief. Awesome Kingpin. Polmier no offense to you or any other imms or thieves, but Hipsin did what a thief is suppose to do to get to the kingpin, he bribed few elite including me and Raja. Hipsin, hopefully you dont mind me telling all about it. It was fun hanging out, fensing and talking with you. Good luck with your next char. Drop me a like skhalil@fau.edu

didn't get to interact with you as much as I would have liked to, but I was always glad to see you around and thankful of the information and such you passed my way. I think the best was when you stole and counterfitted someone's (I think it was a scion or outlander warrior) potion of return shortly before they decided to attack me. They went for the escape and the potion was fake and they died, heh after that I didn't give much thought at all to killing you when I saw you around
Good luck with the next one, I'll see you in the fields

Glad you enjoyed it. First time we met you were at the Orphanage and you looted away half my set. I had you return it by making some promise I thought I would never have to uphold. Afterall, most low lvls who talked to me poofed away for whatever reason.

You didn't poof away. I didn't mind. I always was skeptical, considering Calheil's change of heart. Nonetheless, I hope we can have a good Emperor/lackey relationship in the future .

G'luck w/ the next.

I have other duties to attend to, Sir.

I always enjoyed seeing you about. I felt a bit bad about not contributing more, but as I said, I have other duties to perform that require my coin a bit more than the Guild.

I am loyal to the Guild, but I don't really see the point in contributing great amounts unless I want to be Elite, or eventually the Kingpin. Maybe the Kingpins are given insight into what all that gold is going to be used for. If so, it might encourage everyone to give, to know what that is, or might be.

I think Desmonn, or Brynne would do a fine job of running things, now that you're gone, but I don't know if anyone will be able to work all the angles, or have as much 'control' as you did.

Great Job, Sir, and May the Winds cool your feet, and keep you safely.

Aside from Raja at the time you WERE Cadothu's best friend and it was always going to be a fun session when you'd appear outta the shadows and suprise me. A shame I gave up mudding after him. I was in it for the fun and I'm glad I helped make it more enjoyable for you.

Thanks for all the gold. It was nice to be able to unload my inventory now and then and get some fast gold out of it, though I always had the feeling you were getting a way better deal. And thanks for showing me around a few places.

From my limited view, you were a great character, and that's why I said what I did. But I can't see much, and I'm sorry things went they way they did. I hope you come back though.

Hipsin lived a very long life, and I'm sure I will miss some people that were very close to Hipsin. I wish I could have gotten a guild members list, so I'm sure I will leave out some current members who I think are very cool.
Here are some of the coolest things I've ever done in Hipsin's life.
My war with Calheil, man, you were set to go down so bad you will never know. I had three Elites planted in your guild who had written notes to me and to Qaledus that I could select the Bandit King as I chose, and I had Qaledus' backing also.
Tuk and Jal- A running 100 gold bounty on both their heads, pretty cool idea I thought, though no one ever collected either from what I could tell.
Within an hour period, grouping with people who all thought I was their exclusive ally in different groups with people that included Fortress, Tribunal, Empire, Scion, and Outlander.

Burning about 8 more con exploring the Silent Tower
I finally have a descent grasp of the place, though not a good grasp

Man, I was so bitter at the Immortal who talked to me when my immortal application was rejected. I was so intent on going off at you in my good-bye note. I still think you made a terrible choice when you said that Hipsin never interacted with anyone and that I was not a good roleplayer. I mean, in Hipsin's day, as the Kingpin, he was one of the top five most visible character's to everyone. And my roleplay was that of basically Jarlaxle. That you dismissed me because I spent some time back in June or July gathering an obsurd amount of coins is stupid in my book. You said that all I did was gather coins and equipment, and didn't interact with anyone. Hell, I literally have not went to gather coins in months, and have not gotten a new piece of gear in months. There is a reason I could sit visible wherever I wanted wearing as good of a set as I did, and that was because usually, literally every person in Hipsin's Pk range was an ally. I was hidden less than any other thief ever, for the very reason that I could then interact. Not the hearty screw off I was intent on giving you, but constructive and to the point nonetheless.

I think I'm done with carrion for good after Hipsin. I've had so much fun over the years, but apparently, after over 6000 hours (conservative estimate) of play, I'm still not good enough to be an immortal. This was my fourth immortal application, and to be rejected by an Immortal who new his facts so little was baffling to me. I had always been certain that Carrion fields had the best imms that could be had, I am no longer certain.

I liked Hipsin. He knew what he was going and could hold his weight around.
Btw have you tried to pick that fricking chest again?

Regarding your immorting:
Does not matter if some Imm you talked with acted as a d*ck.
What matters is if you feel you DESERVE to be am Imm, it means you are not ready.
Being an imm is a hard time-consuming thankless work.
Plus it is not so clean and shinny there as Imms wants us to belive.

I suggest you play the game only if you enjoy it.

I think you may be off the mark with your thought that everyone completely trusted you. I never trusted you fully, and was always ready to drop the hammer if I noticed anything shady.

That being said, I thought Hipsin was a cool cat with a cool spin on the Kingpin gig. I rarely saw you hidden (is this oxymoronic?), and assumed that was because you wanted people to approach you with deals and offers.

Good job, and don't let the bastards get you down!

I'm very sad now. I thought that I would get another chance to interact with you again. I had so much fun being around you. You got me out of the Inn and guild to take me to different places. You taught me a lot, and you always had my back. Thank you so much for everything you did for me. Raja loved Hipsin. Over her entire life you were probably her best friend. Thanks again for everything and I hope to see you in the fields...

Sorry, I really hate to call you out like this, but this is bull. I'm one of the only 3 elites in the Hamsah guild, and I refused your offer. Since the other two elites have been rather scarce in the last few weeks, I doubt they had grand ambitions for being your cronies either.

I'm not looking to flame anybody, but I can't let you make the Hamsah guild look like your own personal puppet guild. It isn't anything of the sort. I hadn't interacted with you at any other time other than when you made me your "offer", so I can't comment on any of your other points.

At that time, I had word from Qaledus that if myself, Calheil, and my appointed replacement were around, Calheil would be removed. Calheil hasn't been around for over a month, and it was in the height of our Guild war that this all took place, much before your time.

The fix was in and the deal was done. The only thing that saved
Calheil was 1) timing and 2) a stellar job on his end of the
guild war which had Hipsin's moles second-guessing their motive.
Hipsin jumped through the hoops I presented and I have the notes
from the Hamsah supporters logged.

From Calheil's PBF record:
Thu Sep 2 19:57:28 2004 by 'Qaledus' at level 51 (373 hrs):
May not know it, but fended off an apparent coup.

If you read the rest of his record, the coup is the unintended
consequences I was referring to. I added this as an afterthought
when I realized someone else reading his history may wonder what
I was talking about and what happened with it.
