At 12 o'clock AM, Day of Deception, 16th of the Month of the Old Forces
on the Theran calendar Bazrak perished, never to return.

Where to begin? First and foremost this char was made with the idea to try and join Scarab. It was the one major thing I wanted to do on CF since I came here, so in that regard the character was a total success. Also, getting the kill on Lariya (even if in a gang) was one of the more satisfying moments of my mud career after getting piss-beat by her for so long as Dralith.

Bazrak was a real uphill battle though, I must say. Fire giant AP does pretty well against warriors, and crappy against a warrior with any kind of mage/communer support. I looked on the graveyard and saw there has been one fire giant AP at hero since I came here. That is daunting, and I think there are reasons for this. I will say this and it kind of makes me proud and sad at the same time, but I died more pk deaths with this character then I have ever died with any character ever on any MUD. It was very humbling to be beaten time and time again. What wasn't humbling and is probably one of the reasons I deleted, is that the ganging just never ends. I used to think when I was Tulvaluthian that the Empire was the biggest gangers. Truth is, the Fortress puts them to shame. I can think of one, maybe two times in almost 200 hours I fought Fortress members solo. Empire as a whole was also mostly gangers. There are obviously a few exceptions to both of these cabals, but they were few and even farther in between.
Bazrak was by no means not going to gang himself, but I think I tried to fight solo at every possibility. And believe me, with very few allies, this was often. I liked a lot of things about anti-paladins, I like their versatility in that they can silence casters and worldbind communers, and do decent against warriors as well. Well, I obviously can't play them well because I never even got my first control. I will say in retrospect, as much as the imms hate it, I should have rank sat around 40 and pumped my weapon. That is one thing that did bother me about the class. That time and again I hear about how gear doesn't matter. And then there is a class whose main draw to players is about holding one item. This seems odd. I think it's time to just admit gear does matter. Frankly the ones saying gear doesn't matter are the most decked chars in the game, or at least it seemed so.

Enough complaining, on to goodbyes.

Scarabaeus - I tried my hardest man, I really did, but in the end the fire AP was just not strong enough to do what I promised. I would have liked to have heroed, but my time is super short of late and to be honest the thrill had gone out of me. I loved our interactions each and every time, and I wonder how I did in your eyes. Thanks for everything, you rock. One side note, when Scarab doesn't have a cabal item, revenants can't do much. Enemies would just not enter the inner, or summon me out because they knew the item meant nothing. Makes it a little rough but don't think I was not grateful. Thanks again for everything.

Various transmuters - You guys helped me rank up in almost every case. Thanks.

Cadothu in particular - Always loved our interactions as well, great char.

Lariya - I know you were surprised as hell when you fell that one time, but not as surprised as I was when I had Tuk slept and spelled up and you summoned me _in Udgaard_ and I ran like a wee lad. You are buff as hell and it bothers me on about 200 different levels that I see logs on Dio's of people like Dahzek and Lucrucien being worth more or the same amount of charges you were. I was expecting like 12

Quevea - Loved that interaction when I jumped you and that other dark-elf when we were ranking in Akan. Well done I loved all our talks.

Golron - I meant what I said about you being the perfect leader for the Fortress. I saw nothing from you but ganging and then guaranteed full looting. Come to think of it, I was full looted everytime by the Fortress, even though I always left your items if your members fell to me. Ah well, different styles and RP. Oh well, at least you didn't try and pretend you were all about honor.

Yalanka - you did nothing but nightgaunt me then tell me I should come to the light. Yay. The time you nightgaunted me when I had like 100 hp from fighting Lariya, and I escaped and then you tesseracted to me halfway across the world and killed me? I wanted to drop kick whoever gave conjurers not one, but two spells to remove the "hunting" aspect of the game. Props to you though for kicking my ass repeatedly and not full looting even once. I think you were the only goodie to do that.

Sargataneos - in the beginning I liked you. The more you moaned about your items and continued to lose them, I began to hate you.

Corilanth - you would also stay on when the odds were sick. I remember logging in three or four times and we were the only evils on with 8-10 Fortress members. Liked our interactions.

Arthakar - What the hell happened to you man?

Lucrucien - At first I hated that you were rank sitting. Then I realized that you were either a) waiting for full empowerment
or b) rank sitting to avoid the hero gank squads, I realized you were smarter then I. Liked your char and our interactions.

Blitzenturt - Jeez. I fought you once on Aryth alone, you beat on me, I wanded up, came back, you were gone. Next day I log in, twenty seconds later you, Lotho, and Quevea summoned/ganked me out of the Temple. Of course all the flees I succeeded in were right back inside and right back to being summoned I did really like your character, and I guess this means we are even since I beat on you with Tulvaluthian. You were my favorite Empire person by far.

Lothorectred - So much for flee/sleep decreasing in chance each time. You had to have failed at least 8 or 9 when you killed me in Akan. A pity I could not even land one spell.

Selreen - At least you of the Fortress fought me alone and smashed me. Even though you had just ganged me with Golron and then you Yethieliel and Golron show up when I am in the maze in Ysigrath. I died linkdead for the first time ever on CF but I was dead anyways. Any props you would have gotten IC for that from Bazrak were lost when you let Golron and them full loot me.

Mangar? - You were the only Scion I saw when I was 30+ to about 42. You should have stuck around.

Derafhac - I liked this character, you were a beast.

Alessa - Why did you ever help me?

Geenaver - You jumped me at like rank 40 when I had a reequip set and a barrier rod and I smoked you. I left most of your stuff, and you still complained about me looting you. Then I gave back even more of your stuff because I had no need and you were berating me. Then you, Yakov, and Dilrath or somesuch gang me in Organia 3 v 1 and full looted me down to the food? Thats the weakest crap I've seen in some time.

My permagroup - How come you guys did not ever roll up chars? Heh. In all seriousness I really tried to not perma with anyone be it in PK or even ranking. I wanted to avoid the stereotype of AP with perma. How did I do?

I'm certain I've forgotten lots of people. If so, please respond. I just don't have the time or desire for CF anymore, but I want to say thanks to the imms for a great MUD I had a really good time since I've been here.

AP does well against almost any class in 1vs1 fights.
Exceptions - Ragers, paladins, shamans to a lesser degree.

How many solo fights did I ever have ? Probably 5% of all fights.

I fought you solo. But usually it was you+ram vs. me+invoker.

Correction - do it on 36th. Just be careful with your unholy being disarmed.

AP is very gear dependant class. Just like warrior.
You don’t need Ubber gear but you do need good gear just to be able to fight.

I don’t agree. While he certainly did not object to ganging, there was a lot more about him you did not see.

See I am not a fan of rank-sitting if I can avoid it. I wanted Bazrak to be different then most of the fire ap's I had seen in that regard, and I was, they all could kill lots of people, and I couldn't

Agreed.

Kelin was a powerhouse, I remember fighting you a few times even with wands and getting caned. You and Acaga both did that to me, damned sword specs. Great char, I liked you the best out of the Fortress I think.

Thanks a lot! I really liked Bazrak and was hoping you'd get to hero and we could run around collecting charges. Alas, my role took a drastic turn from where I started out and all that but you remained a close friend, even if I could never get you to tell me I was your friend (who scarab thing and all that). I respected you for choosing that too, I've read a lot on his religion and I dont think I'd fair too well trying it out considering I like to have a lot of allies. I think you did a darn good job and I hope you roll up something just as good that you enjoy roleplaying.

Side note: You're a darn good roleplayer, I mean you stuck with the role even to the end today at the Inn with that little 15 minute or so talk we had about religion.

I learned a lot from just following you places to get equipment or whatever. You have a lot of area knowledge. Come back in a year or so and play again; we wouldn't want all that knowledge to go to waste - well, any more than it is. But a break, I feel you.

I liked your roleplay a lot and wish we could have fought people together more or something. Thanks for the "beast" comment; I try. Have a nice life.

That was mine. I didn't even realize just how big a gang it was right off. I thought I could fight my way out, and more and more people kept jumping into the fray, and by the time it hit me that I should be running, I was dead.

As for why I'm not worth a ridiculous amount of charges, well, we can point to the Udgaard fight. You got away. It was a good fight by all accounts, but I'd like the majority of my fights end up with my prey getting away, or me running. I really have no way to seal a kill very well, and it's easy to escape from me. I try to fight solo a lot too, so I have to create weird situations to help seal kills, but those are more rare.

I really wanted to get you back for that, but the situation never came up. The Udgaard fight was pretty fun though, it's a pain to fight there as a paladin, but I just wanted revenge so bad. Nice fighting on the other side of you again, glad you enjoyed taking me down.

The minute I saw the damage we were doing I thought we had a chance. It still bothers me a bit though because a charge in my opinion should take into account how hard someone is to kill. Anyone who can tell me a character like Dahzek has had more of an impact then you as Lariya is insane. I think the charge value should reflect this but thats just me. When you came for me in Udgaard I about crapped, especially since I wanted Tuk's stuff and axe. Timing is everything
