Imms:
Thanks for the game real good fun. Tralin was time/fate and I figured that would give me freedom in taking opportunities as they came..and thats very much how I played him, he was my first guy I tried to actually RP with I think I did well.

Imm who took my scion powers away, I appreciate the interaction that happened before it (im not joking around) was neat.

Tribs: I had visions of dragging criminals back into town..but..didnt work out..I was annoyed when I became a scion and saw manymany times where goodies would ignore scions getting struck in town or looted..I took great pleasure when Jug/zytan/kung were active and we could just walk in and terrorize you all.

leave the cities sometimes..it can be fun

Fort: tsk tsk
I will say, Kelin..I saw you alone so much..and when I failed a blackjack and you riposted me for a DEVA..i knew why..good stuff

Scions: I was trying to force myself to stick around..but when you get to that point..its time to move on..just got to plain old frustrating:Trotat..geez I feel bad for you, you just cannot get a group..ive seen you try for weeks at a time, hope it picks up for you.

I was looking on the premium to see why your Scion powers were removed. No mention. Oh well...one of life's little mysteries.

To quote 'help cabals'
Joining a cabal is intended as a lifelong affiliation. Those who quit or are kicked out of a cabal are often punished for leaving. Cabal hopping is highly disapproved of.

From what I saw, it was more of a miss-communication that he got into Scion in the first place. But since he did manage to slip in, the characters punishment was losing his cabal powers, at least temporarily. And no, I was not the one that took them away.

This is more or less the bare minimum for cabal-hopping. I wasn't happy that he got in without a significant quest. It's a good bet that any "transfer students" into Scion will lack cabal powers for a long time.

I dont think you could have gave me a worse quest than dealing with Kung everyday for three weeks straight

kung:go find soandso jack him
done
they die
kung: take their gold go find these potions

I dont think he ever realized I was a thief..asking me to keep 2 paladins and a voker busy..crazy bastard

and for the record, I did know I was going to lose my powers and was waiting for it. Also, I really really wanted to stick it out..but weeks upon weeks of having no scions logging on and all our with stacked hero ranges..ugh just wasnt fun to play

thanks for the shot though.

By the time I knew Tralin's past, I had already said (more or less) that he was going to have a shot at being a Scion. At that point it was either A) Contradict myself and make a sudden change of heart, or B) Roll with it, even if begrudgingly so, and see where it went. Tralin got lucky, and I can only blame myself for not knowing the whole story.

This isn't to knock you as a player, Tralin. You may have had the "stuff" to make it, but since you deleted we will never know.

As a warning to anyone else who might be considering the cabal-hop routine: I will be checking you twice

Can I ask what the miscommunication was? I don't have the ability to view roles/imm comments, so when I recommended him for induction, it was after he had been running with us for several weeks and passed a pretty rough interview session. The questions I asked were I would say harder than normal, and he passed spot-on I would say. I knew he used to be a trib, but even when he was, he communicated with me and seemed pretty dastardly.

My only real problem with Tralin is that he couldn't keep up with the group, but I figured that was because he seemed a hopeless newbie. Even newbies deserve a chance =p.

What is remotely incompatible with a corrupt trib being scion-like at heart?

I mean, he wasn't a good trib. If he was, then I could see something wrong with him going for scion.

Scion helpfile says something like "nothing is forbidden". So why should someone who lived up to this by breaking laws as a trib be frowned on by scion?

I appreciate that cabal-hopping in general is frowned upon, but I don't see why in Tralin's case is wasn't in keeping with his behavior from start to finish?

It did indeed appear to be keeping with his role. But that doesn't change anything, cabal-hopping is still frowned upon, and there are still downsides to it. That and Tralin didn't leave Tribs of his own accord, he got kicked out for screwing up twice. Think of it as Scion not wanting to take another cabals leftovers, if that helps.

So to clarify, Tralin was roleplaying just fine. He was just going to have to go through some IC hardships.

Hey I am not this tough.

OOC I thought you were cool.
IC Oh no, not another Calheil.

And I was alone because:
a) I am a loner.
b) IC honor thing.
c) Fortress is empty most of the time.
And no wonder. No captain and no chance to reclaim Orb from Empire.
For example: typical Imperial gang I usually need to fight - healer, necromancer and 2-3 Blades.

Good luck with your next,

-Kelin
