Well this was a major experiment and quite against the norm that I usually play characterwise. For a long time I played strictly Sylvan characters who despised order and grasped firm to the ways of chaos. When Outlanders came about I rolled Dhrimthrom a druid and didn't feel the same, and when Saldradien deleted it was the nail in the coffin. So tried something new and a class I was unfamiliar with. I enjoyed playing Caelestis and the Spire itself is a treat as well. I think I learned rather quickly of the laws and how to percieve them and I feel my judgements were precise and with thought. Boredom however setin in the latter days and I just couldn't recover from it.
My thoughts of the class is varied, as a shield dedicate as one said before is like riding an automatic. However...I can attest most of my fights were against those of the balance or the light. And using shieldbash, angelswing and flank can diminish your options quite a bit.

On to the Farewells...

Velkurah: Thanks for everything, the empowerment, the interaction, and quite surprising the two virtues. My goal was trying for your tat as well, and think I was set on that path the last we met with your quest. But alas it was not meant to be. I hoped I did your religion well and if not I would appreciate seeing where I might of swayed wrong. Also you about cracked me up when you sent that bird to me in Galadon. Lemath: Sorry I had to go..It was just not meant for the longrun it seems..It did pain me to see you pleading to me not to do it, but my mind was set. You were Caelestis's best friend save for Traba and I always ensured that I would be there at moments notice to keep you healed and protected. Funny that I was opposing you for a brief time as Dhrimthrom in your younger years then firmly at your side later with Caelestis. Personally Caelestis didn't agree with the treaty with the Empire, but he never voiced his opinion as such. For I valued respect and order above anything. And respected your decision of such. You have made the Spire stronger and I know you will continue onward to do such..You never know..I just might return to fight at your side once again in another form..

Traba: My other closest friend...Thank you for so much...The adventure, the teaching, and all the hunt. You deserved Vindicator and you made the most of it with the time allowed.

Alarian: Keep up the Mantle brother and bring about the Order we strived for. We were both opposites in way..You hit the nail on the head that you sensed much fire within me. And it caused conflict many a times, but I stood by yourside nevertheless.

Yea the boredum can sometimes kill a character real easy and if I had a life who knows, maybe it would of mine, but you'll be missed. And even funnier about your druid, if you remember right we traveled together at my LOW ranks when I first got the warthog, I was takin blows from trolls with you healing the warthog, and wow you were a strong young druid in my eyes....any ways back to tha paladin. You'll be missed and the travels were always fun. Good luck with the next.

I'm glad you had fun, I enjoyed watching you and interacting. The bird thing was totally spur of the moment, I don't even remember what made me think of the idea in the first place.

Pretty much the only time I interacted with you was while ranking, and Manden's not the kind of guy to pry (whatever that means) so I didn't really interact with your character much. The accent drove me nuts. Why did you have it?

I still remember what great fun I had with Dharum with another one of my characters, you were the only reason I kept that guy around after a while, so I wish I could've spent more time with Cael.

Man, I cannot possibly stress enough how little I thought of you and one other Tribunal paladin. I never said it was wrong to enforce the laws. I never said it was wrong to do the job you did.

You and one other paladin felt the need to kill and full loot a fellow paladin on their second offense, when she came to turn herself in. Then, as insult to injury, you decked yourselves out in her eq. Your excuses were that you were "required to take all of her things". I've been a Tribunal. I've also with this character been a criminal frequently. At no time when I turned myself in were any of my posessions, except for my weapon kept. Thats the incentive for turning yourself in.

To do what you did, to a fellow paladin, in my eyes was just the epitome of evil. The excuse of "just doing your job" doubly riled my character up because I knew you were full of ####. I'd been a criminal about ten times more often than Linwe, and whoever I turned myself in to always returned my things out of respect.

You held order above goodness, and that just doesn't say "paladin" to me.

There does come a point where Tribunals -are obliged- to keep everything.

If you have offended that much (and you probably have since I can remember flagging you at least twice myself) the tribunals who return your things may actually be breaking tribunal law by returning anything.

You can only return gear until someone becomes a "hardened criminal", whether they surrender or not. The transition to "hardened criminal" is hard-coded.

You might already know this because you mention that it was only her second offense, which would mean that she is not a hardened criminal. However, it does sound to me as if some tribunals have broken tribunal law by returning your things to you just because you handed yourself in. (That's assuming you've been flagged more than the magic number of times.)

At the point you and another paladin kept all of Linwe's things, you were NOT obligated to, as you yourself just said, and did anyway. You enriched yourselves at a fellow paladins expense, without it being necessary. Thats really pretty poor behavior for a paladin of any religion.

Everyone can vouch that if they turned themselves in and weren't repeat crims, I gave their stuff back less weapons. If they tried to evade, I pretty much took the lot. If they came and fought, it depended on my mood.

However, were it not for the turning in aspect, I could see it as quite acceptable to keep everything from someone who re-offended after the first offense. Not obligatory, but do parents not smack kids to teach them a lesson? It doesn't mean they don't love their kids.

I agree that it sounds like ooc motivation for a sweet set, but then, if that log of you wasn't the obvious, then maybe this looting wasn't either. However, IF as a paladin, I didn't approve of another paladin, I probably wouldn't return their gear. When I played my paladin Persumal, I got quite sick of what paladins would do for gear. I'd quite happily have seen most of them live a life of frugality for a bit, to cleanse their soul.

Caelestis was about Order and Respect....
He cherished the laws and respected such....
He also by the code of Paladins so it as disrespect and a
high one if one of his own guild would show disrespect to
the laws. That is why Celebrimbor that I would warrant You,
Thenrek, Linwe, and even Scharnz..For the total show of disrespect...
Case point being....If memory serves correct...Thenrek and or
Linwe attacked the duergar warrior in town..When both I and Alarian pleaded to you to leave and hunt the dark fiends away from town...What did you and your cohorts do? You mocked us..."Quite unpaladin-like"...You basically spat in the face of the law..And then out of spite attacked him right when we stood there...Furthermore you bitched and moaned in your scroll and what happened genius? Velkurah sent you and all parties involved the reason why we did what we did and explained for even a two your old could understand..That you were in the wrong..You disrespected the law...And Linwe had no rights to his equipment...Right then and there you should of sucked it up and went on..Yet here comes Scharnz getting wanted and a magi that helped him evade me...And there you went again with a scroll to the Spire...And guess what...I was right on the matter and you were left to bitch and whine..That all you did from what I saw...You sent a note complaining one after another..The first time was explained to you to a tee and the second time it was blatantly obvious...I did my job dude and adhered to paladin code.

That even if Celebrimbor's player does understand what you did, it doesn't mean that him sending judgemental notes about it is necessarily a bad thing.

For example, my character viewed paladins as fanatics and thieves with suspicion. Yet I, the player, know that in reality I'm as likely to be attacked by a maran warrior as any paladin, and that about 50% of the thieves would be fine to take as allies.

As a character, I always played confusion as to why the goods objected to the way I maintained the law. As a player, I totally understand why they object to a necromancer.

Oh man. Where do I start? At first id get wanted and I wouldnt really care because well... no tribunals actively pursued you. Odgrirg would selectively, and then traba became vindicator, and sitll I was like "eh". Then I remember vanishing around, and seeing you out of town and I think to myself eh no biggie... Well you basically got me nailed those 2 times just because you were the only one who could stop my vanishing, and just summon me to you. If it werent for you I would have probably outlived those shackles, so kudos and curse you aswell. Good luck with the next you were a very capable paladin

I couldn't see you outside of town, which made it pretty pointless to try to find you. I imagine that is true of all non-duergar non-vindicators.

I enjoyed our fights immensely, though it was never when I was free and not wanted did you ever come close to actually killing me. As well, that one time when I had you convulsing was well.. a ####up on my computer - it locked up. Regardless, fun times there.

And if you thought what we were doing is complaining well....what do you expect us to do in an RP sense when we're fighting imperials in town and you arrive with your guards and kills us and then have a nice chat with Drokalyth about the weather? Tell you 'Well struck bastion of the light Paladin Caelestis!' ?????
You fought us more than you fought evil it seems and that wasn't cool in little Scharnz eyes.. I know i'm exagerrating but it didn't seem far from it.
I'm sure you played your character very well as a two virtued paladin must have but your comment about us is dead wrong. I didn't see any regret roleplayed either than you telling me 'I just do my job 'ish..' I'm sure that's what your character was supposed to be like which is cool but did you expect the Fort to embrace you?

Another paladin who had killed good people would show remorse. You showed none. You just killed good people, looted them, decked yourself out, and went traipsing along singing 'la la la" and rubbing yourself all over to touch your shiny new eq without the slightest twinge of regret over killing a good person. Both IC and OOC that doesn't say "paladin" to me.

people were probably not whining, but roleplaying the inherent difficulties of being in a cabal that didn't allow them to lash out at you for what they viewed as your shortcommings?

Because at least one person listed whined to Baendra about Caelestis.

I judge whining to be when ooc comments about game mechanics start entering the complaints, and repeat criminals complain about losing their gear, referring to it as a "full-loot" in character.

One of the individuals listed went on at quite some length about it.

To avoid tarnishing them all, I'll also note that one of the other individuals on the list DID rp it well.

Suprising, I expected such a worse mention about me from you. As much as Alynana hated when I would miss a good neuro and you would flee as soon as you got the command in, "I" understood. I wish I would have gotten a fight out of you once or twice that would have been straight out and finished between the two of us. As far as I know, you did a good Tribunal and I know how hard it can be sometimes to play one... though I do not think I'll ever go back for many reasons (I hate lemurs with guards who hit like hero warriors and the lemur dodges every spell you throw at it). Good luck with your next and such.

Just guessing, perhaps you could of acted somehow RPing your exiling of people via scrolls or something. Even if the mobs in question don't do anything, someone is watching...

Finally, yeah, the whole send-off might have seemed a bit corny, but I didn't want to see you kill yourself IC. Never a good way for a pally to go, hoped you saw it for what it was.

I think playing a tribunal paladin brings the character alot of interesting dilemmas to solve and I have with interest followed the discussion over at qhcf where some even suggest paladins in tribunal should not be allowed.

That's pretty funny. I'm curious why. Out of
all the Paladins in the spire, we seemed to
have the least conflict. Maybe since there
wasn't that was the reason why. You were a
strong paladin, the only thing that bothered me
was that accent, it drove me up the wall.
