Well, this was my first character after half a decade without CF. A lot changed in this time, escpecially with the assassin class.

I did miss hellfire etc, but I think the new assassins are great. Highly recommended for newbies.

As far a pk ratio goes, I died a hell of a lot up to about rank 40 for the following reasons:

(1) Forgot the area layouts.
(2) Tried to avoid combat, but had forgotten which classes could see hidden. Hejduk got me about 4 times before I realised AP's could not see hidden. He always seemed to make a bee-line for me when I hid, so I panicked and moved.

Also, avoiding combat means your only fights are ones that someone else picked, not the ones you pick. I think it is this mentality more than anything else that makes you think everyone and his pet puppy can kick your ass, since they'd rarely attack you if they had no thought of winning.
(3) Didn't use preps. (In fact I never really did at all with Szchada.)

I also died to a lot of mobs because my old assassin could quite happily solo the svirf King, and all the Giants in the battlefield caravan. I'd keep waltzing in to fight them and finding myself in big trouble.

At this stage I rolled up Benlunkda, a peaceful exploration character, in order to try to solve the above problems.

Thought Nexus was a good idea. Left it by choice as I was getting a bit bored with constant pkilling and wanted to roleplay something a bit different.

Goodbyes:

Nexus

Tiberianus: Well, what can I say. My first and only heartfelt recommendation to the cabal. Recommended others but more for their sake than for the cabal's. I thought you made a consumate hunter, and I enjoyed travelling with you a lot. For all I said I left the rift for roleplay purposes, I wouldn't have done it for any other character. Out of curiosity, did you ever realise that Yantsao was Szchada? Finally, thanks for helping me reequip when I lost all my stuff for not having been on for about a month. (This was when I killed you Gabinetto, hence the reason I didn't know of your alignment change.)

Your edicts that full looting was not permitted unless you needed the clothes, and that anyone asking was to be told the balance, were both a great improvement to the cabal.

Caelph: Liked you too. Spoke to you more as Benlunkda than Szchada though. Basically because talking took me out of shadows, and I didn't want people to know I was about.

Sanorik; you got criticised a lot for not being around, but when you were around I thought you made an excellent Magister.

Others; generally a good bunch, though I forget most names owing to absence. Remember there being one mage I didn't have much time for though.

Scion

Hejduk: Hmm. Killed me more than anyone. Used to upset me when I was first renewing my knowledge of the game. But actually have a lot of respect for you. I saw a lot of you and Tikar from the shadows and, contrary to what many said, you did not permanently gang bang. I saw both of you go up against fairly large groups alone. That is actually what I was doing when you killed me becuase I didn't know you had the mask. I was watching you fight those villagers. Had I been stalking you, I would have realised about the mask, and run, as I did with Daemelin when he had it. But hey, that taught me something. If in doubt, stalk.

Armadillo whose name I've forgotten:

Attacked you with Tiberianus and you told me you'd told the imms that I'd attacked you when the light tipped the balance, and that I'd get booted? It wasn't. We'd checked both before and after. I prayed to the imms to be sure they witnessed it. I agree it looked like the light tipped the balance, but one thing you learn from being a nexan is that the scales did some pretty odd things at times.

Fortress:

Satinka: Great role-play. Liked the way you took your deaths to me on the chin. That was why I helped you reequip when the balance shifted.

Amberion: Liked you too. Obviously a newbie, but nothing wrong with that. To be honest, you were so easy to track down and attack that I was relieved that you changed alignment. It was getting embarrassing finding you in Tar Valon and Galadon before finding anyone else to hunt. Find somewhere other than a guild to hang around. Please!

Dwimmerling: You seemed to undergo an amazing transformation between being absolutely awful at fighting me to being fairly impressive at it. The amazing thing about it is that we had about ten fights with you barely touching me, but on the 11th you beat me to a pulp, and did well after too. There was only about 1 minute between the 10th and 11th fights which is why I was amazed. Did someone tell you to use a mace or something?

Tezzurnami; Another newbie. I'd say don't sit in your guild, but the last time we fought you were sitting at the pit! Since I was naked too (again a result of having been away from cf) I decided I'd try to fight you. That naked fight was one of my most enjoyable cf experiences. <- Please don't quote this out of context anybody!

Braiden; Liked you. You said you never quite trusted me IC, but I never posed as friendly if my intention was to attack. You were one of the lucky ones who knew the balance, since you could see me and ask to be kept up to date with changes. Still, it seemed like you never told your fortress buddies, because they always seemed a little surprised.

Elshadir; well played. I remember discussing with you how I was intending to sneak into the transmuter guild to lie in wait for a lightwalking trannie. Didn't realise you were a lightwalker for some reason, and felt pretty stupid afterwards. Didn't want to attack you when I did realise, but I didn't really have much choice. Likewise I applaud your attacking me in revenge.

Tribunal:

My experiences with you were all good.

Heh. Got away with attacking Serniae in town with several witnesses. Said that Padgett had doppled me. Actually, I came away from that tribby encounter very impressed, because of restraint you showed, and lack of corruption (even if I was guilty).

Was made wanted plenty of other times though and it was really annoying. I have to admit I was never wrongly convicted though. Hedjuk nearly killed me once in Tar Valon when a guard stopped me, and getting to people to assassinate them was tough.

I even managed to get unflagged when I accidentally made poison smoke in my guild when I was trying to make my first poison dagger.

Scarab;

Drucyrus; I had a lot of respect for your character, though no fear. (I only feared Hejduk at any time in my life.) I was rather surprised when you caught me in your Tar Valon guild because I was actually hunting another shaman who I knew sat around there, and I'd left the computer to make myself a drink. At that time, no one in my pk range could see me. Came back after you had entered Thera, attacked me and blinded me. Managed to flee into the hills where I used vanish each time you summoned until bind wounds finally worked. You never killed me, but you still taught me something with your post about summoning assassins when they bind wounds after vanishing. I won't do that if I play an assassin again! Guess I got lucky that time.

Sylvans;

I didn't defile because I didn't want to die in horrible ways.

Villagers;

Some good players, but I was disappointed with what I saw from the shadows of the change to the village, and the new breed that seems to be attracted to it. I did see a summon gangbang, and then almost immediately after saw the same villagers who were involved kill Turgesn (shaman I think) for being a magic user. That's largely why village issues get me hot under the collar. Never got attacked by any villagers as Szchada though, even when bonded. I guess Rio was the only one who I thought was likely to attack me, but he tended to leave me be. If he was anything like me he probably liked to keep people who could see him sweet so they wouldn't give him away in the shadows.

Sorry to any I missed. Any comments welcome, even the bad ones (but any good ones would be prefered).

You were also one of the nexan's I most respected. Enjoyed that fight we had on the Battlefield vs the polearm/h2h spec and Amberion. At least Big Taco guessed one of us right on Dio's board.

I wanted to add this posted because I think you're the kind of player CF needs more of. Someone who can role-play and fight, yet still shows some consideration for the player on the other end of the modem.

Ack! Damn you! You could have come out for one more hunt before you deleted...

Well, whatever else, you're about the only hunting mate I've had who can keep up even without the bond...

And no, didn't realize you were Yantsao, either. Was fun, Szchada, take care, and stay in touch if ya want.

Chris.

It wasn't maces, and stump help me I can't remember what it was I did differently. I think it was a a combination of me not having sups readied, and a minor epiphany about how to fight you.

it's all such a blur now
too many victorious jays. . .

For some reason everytime I saw you, I totally forgot what I knew about you, you seemed so familiar, but I could't remember when we had spoken and fought. I think I remember you giving me stuff back, so even after we fought, I am sure you got my best side.

My philosophy was that if I was sickeningly nice to the people who killed me, and forgave them, they might feel wierd doing it again.
