In the nine years Carrion Fields has breathed a life of fantasy into
our worlds there is much that we remember.

Friends are made, politics played, blood has been shed, and powerful
enemies have arisen. But perhaps remembered most are those leaders
who have shown their mettle through times great and lean.

Though a haze tends to cloud our memories as the years grow,
there are a great number of these leaders who are not forgotten
with the passage of time.

And so, the Immortal Staff brings you Thera's Leaders.

This list has been laying around for a while, and now it is time for your input. Eventually this list will go on the History Forum after anything further is added to it here.

Though most of these should be correct, I do realize that we are missing a few here or there. Feel free to post what you think needs to be added/changed...but don't get too offended if someone disagrees with your view of the past. Memory is a fickle thing...yours, ours, anyone's...and time takes it's toll. If you have anything to add, post away. Otherwise, enjoy.

It was posted 6 years ago, 6+9=15 years. 2009-15=1994, which coincidentally is the year I became addicted to this game.

Regarding Leaders in General:

Thanks for posting even if you couldn't remember the names. Unfortunately I can't add a character to the list without a name, so hopefully your post will jar someone else's memory and they can help fill in the blanks.

I added a few more names I came across here and there, and tweaked the order a bit, aside from adding the info you all posted. If I didn't add yours, you should see an explanation at the bottom of the post for that cabal. If you are sure you're right, or I interpreted your post incorrectly, post again and I'll see about fixing things. Again, if you see anything that needs changing or tweaking, speak right up.

As far as the scope of this post: I'm really only looking for the regular titled leader positions of each cabal.

There have been a lot of special-titled characters over the years. Some are cabal-specific special titles, some are just based upon the role of the character. Some were leaders. Some were not. Though memorable characters the non-leaders were, I do have to draw the lines somewhere, and the above seems the fairest (and most appropriate) place to do it. There have been some special situations that have come up in the past (For example, the Knights had a Steward for a short time during someone's leadership) that do merit an exception, but they are few and far between. If you think a char was one of those exceptions, you can post saying so, but there are no guarantees that they'll be added.

Again, thanks for contributing to polishing this list up. As soon as it looks like all the input is in, we'll move it over to the History Forum.

Regarding Entropy:

I do recall reading somewhere that Entropy *might* have had mortal leaders way back in the first age. Of course, in recent years (the entire 3rd age at least) they obviously haven't had any. Although titles like "Ygnacio is *poof* a salad" bring back some good memories, they won't be added to the list because they aren't leaders in the traditional sense.

I remember the existence of at least two mortals in Entropy during the second age who could induct, whether they were actual 'leaders' or not. Sadly, even if my memory is accurate, I don't remember their names, and nobody else seems to remember they even existed.

I haven't been in Entropy since the second age, so my assumption that there were mortal leaders in it since then has been proven wrong. Thank you for clearing that up.

Love the thread, but it is monopolized the battlefield board for the people who should be getting their props right now.

Like I said love the thread, but I feel it's place is history board.

This post is on the Battlefield for two main reasons: So that any player with input can easily post such, and so that I can reorganize that input for you to comment on again if such is necessary.

The History Forum is a protected forum, which would make this open style of input and moderation more difficult if not impossible. The Battlefield, being a public forum, is more well suited to such a task.

Though this post does take up space on the board, it doesn't keep people from getting their props. The scroll bar is to your right =================>
and people can easily skip over it should they wish. When everyone is finished posting their input to this topic it will 'disappear' like all the others, and at that time, it will be ready to be transferred to the History Forum.

So, though I do agree that this belongs on the History Forum eventually, there is reason for it to be here on the Battlefield at the moment.

A lack of planning and consideration for the players. The forum software allows for the creation of temporary forums or the alteration of existing forums so you don't have to inconvenience regular users of a forum to avoid inconveniencing users for an irregular purpose.

If a temporary forum was made for this topic, it wouldn't serve the purpose properly. Why? Because for a thread like this to be effective, it has to be read by the largest number of people, and be in a place they can all easily comment.

So, this forum is the ideal place. Out of all the forums where anyone can post, registered user or not, it's the one read by the most people. You may not have noticed, but there are people who read this forum but don't read the other forums at all.

Also, I am not sure...but on the list you list a "Castanaveras" as an old leader ... I know that I had a Castanaveras (cloud sword) who was an arbie elder when arbies finally disapeared for good...then he was like the third inducted into nexus when that showed up(shortly before I lost interest and deleted). I am sure that THAT castanaveras doesn't really deserve to be on the list... And I was never aware that when I made that name I had re-created a past leader's name. If there was a past leader with the same name...wow...sorry about that.

For empire, I don't remember if it was before Havilahd, or before Riebold, but I think it was sometime around there...

I had Motiak, a duerg shaman High Priest.

There was a full council at the time, but a while before the next emperor, I don't remember the name of him, but there was a warrior War master (I think felar) who everyone thought was goign to be the first Blade Emperor, before he deleted.

And before Motiak was another Duerg Shaman who was high Priest. Damned if I can remember his name but he was *very* skilled (at least compared to me). But then again, I can't remember if he deleted or got denied for cheating.

His name was Khayr, I believe, the one you're thinking about. Zepachu was around when that whole crew you mentioned was, and Khayr was the war master.

Where are the leaders of the Barons of Entropy? Are they too chaotic to be listed? Are the Lyceum scholars trying to rewrite history yet again?

Personally, it's been too long since I was in their august company to remember much about the leaders, and I'd like to refresh my memory by hearing a few names and titles. (I didn't keep as good records of my days with them as of my days with Masters) Maybe some of their Immortals would remember a few names.

I was Trouble, the Friend of Bears and the Immortal of Entropy during at least some of the first age and I remember Pico and Ishmael, Saher and Nighthawk, though I think Nighthawk was the last one I made mortal leader before I removed myself from the lofty realms. Though that was several hundred tequilas ago and since I'm getting to be an old man, the memory plays tricks on me and Saher may have been the last that I made leader. The fun part about Entropy at least during my time was the the whole idea of a leader was antithetical to Entropy so it made it hard to work it all out. Creative anarchy was more my idea of fun.


By the way, Truck, the first leader of Master's was a human ranger and I think after Twist, it was Cador and then Silentone the assassin? I honestly can't recall if Silentone was made the leader although I know they wanted him to be. I (was Truck and Silentone) think I remember turning it down because I didn't want to be an Imm for one Cabal and mortal leader for another.

This is all off the top of my head because I didn't keep any logs or notes (and still don't) of CF.

It's great to see you again. I wouldn't expect you to remember me or any my chars from back then, but I remember you, and I always looked up to you. You were definitely one of the greats.

I'm not sure how, but you missed Sadrach the lieutenant assassin, and Rhycyn, the (I believe) lieutenant Storm Shaman. These were two exceptional characters and were also exceptions to the rules of Sylvan entrance at the time.

Also, I can't remember if Montolio was a leader or not, but he made it into the lyceum as I recall, and it was a really long time ago. Anyone else remember?
