Well Falthule was my first paladin since all the changes. I made him to check out how they are now, and to see if I could get into Maran. I think all the changes to paladins are definatly cool, but they still lack some sort of offensive choices. Most paladins are still wrathing/shieldbashing guys trying to be warriors. Maran are definatly cool, and not an easy path. I didn't really have any allies (other than Maran, and there are very few of them). Protecting the Fortress is more of a chore at times (especially given the quality of some of the inhabitants), but such is the duty of a Maran.

Shokai:
I am sure you are busy, and while I did wait here and there, it was by no means excessive. The interactions were great, and I learned a ton about Maran and tried to pass that knowledge onto the young I ran across. I think my favorite moment was when I got tattoed. I was chasing down a bard and was greensleeved. Once the bard finally escaped and greensleeves wore off you were talking to me (but I only heard the tail end of the conversation) and checked my equipment to notice I had been tattooed mid-fight.

Maran:
You guys have it rough at times, but it was fun to fight alongside you guys. Jubair, you definatly know what you are doing, and together we made a bunch of corpses. Johan, your spear is nasty, and you make a great Maran. Yetharien, I enjoyed our talk when you were young, and glad you turned into a great Maran.

Warlock:
I didn't really travel much with any of you, except to raid Scion. The one Warlock that sticks in my mind is Arvidor. Running around the Kuo-Toa Lair, listening to the drunk warlock spouting off about this and that was fun.

Dawn:
Never really spoke to many of you, except Satinka when she was constantly screaming that she needed help killing something/someone. "Tinka needs this, Tinka needs that". There are a few of you who play Dawn like a Maran, hunting down evil, etc. I always pictured Dawn a bit different, oh well.

Battle:
Sargon, my friend, my enemy. I enjoyed our tussles in the Fortress, and how easily you and I put those fights aside when we were not inside the Fortress. It was my duty to defend that place, as it was yours to raid for the Grimoire. I know not all members of the Fortress took the stance that I did, but once you left it I wasn't going to fight you. I offered the same to others of the village, though mostly I ended up with uncharacteristic harsh words about how the fortress is fucking lame and other such thoughts.

Scarab:
Druchyrus, shamans were probably one of the hardest things for me to fight, having to rely more on luck than skill to kill them. As I did the time I light of heavened you, Defiance went off, and then I wrathed, and the fight was over. Saraba, the Great Wild Beast, an interesting turn of events as I was raiding for the Icon, Revenants popping out of the walls, Saraba running around, then me having to run off and lick my wounds. I wish we could have finished the conversation, too bad the mud crashed.

Scion:
Vaustrien, the assassin who actually assassinated me. Taught me a valuable lesson about how long it takes me to raid a cabal for its item solo . Hejduk, I enjoyed our fights, overall I think we ended up even, 1 death a piece. You definatly knew how to play an A-P, but still took risks, unlike some other anti-paladins who shall remain nameless. Karnavex, once I figured out where you enjoy sitting and talking I made sure to check there whenever I saw you. As I mentioned with Druchyrus, shamans were a pain for me to fight, having to rely luck. Light of heaven was my only chance, and it worked once. You were definatly able to talk far above the "I'm evil and I'm going to kill you because you are good" which was much appreciated.

I thought I would just say that I agree with Johan here. Great job Falthule, I liked the fact that you showed and stayed around, no matter how many foes were hunting you. Damn fine job and a nice solid char. Glad you had fun with it and best of luck on the next one.

How could I have forgotten that drunken bard. You too made Falthule enjoyable, I'm glad you immorted, you deserved it. Keep those Maran in line, and try not to get burned out on the interview process that I'm sure Garenth and Shokai will introduce you to shortly.

Going to miss you man. You were great to talk with, great to fight with and just a lot of fun to be around in general. I still appreciate the time you(and a few others) spent talking with me, when I was still neutral and unempowered. It sort of made me sad to see you go how you did though, but I can understand the feeling. Hope I have the chance to interact with another of your characters some time.

*LAUGH* Didn't know I ammused you that much. But the few times we were down there and being near useless outside of water areas.

Great job, Falthule. Very inspiring Maran.

Odd seeing to go, you were one of those who always gave me a hell of a challenge. You were 100% vs. me and in my opion you had to have had the best combination of skill and luck of the foes I have faced. I remember getting you slept several times with others about only to see myself or the group blow it. Had you slept on the ocean, spelled/supped/sang up from the pack of us only to see you wake up and walk away while we were sitting around with our thumbs up our asses *shakes his head in shame*.
You refused to fall to my rots and seemed to always be looking for a fight, where few Marans seem to that I have encountered. I fell to bad luck when I teleported away from a big battle only to land in TV where you engaged me damned near dead and with arista up(foolishly). The irony being you were in TV resting off one of my attacks at the time. That was a pisser. The second was just a world class ass whipping doled out by you in Arkham. Holy Light then I was dead before I got my bearings, well done. Just wanted to drop you a line and say I enjoyed the challenge and your absence on the whopk will be a good/bad thing. See you in the fields.

Well, what can I say? You were one of the first paladins to show me the horror of virtues. Up to that point, all the paladins I had fought did not have holy light or did not use it properly. I had grown complacent and did not put up all protections to fight you thinking it an easy victory. I was quite mistaken. I don't know exactly what happened in that fight we had (either network lag or you lagged me somehow) but I could not get one command in. That was my first royal ass kicking I must say. I just watched in futility as you bounced off my protective shield four times, then finally wrathed me to death while I had tried to flee several rounds earlier but it did not work. Something since our fight has changed however (I think) so I do not think it would go that way again. What happened during that fight has never occured since. As well, I learned a lot from that encounter, especially how to deal with that holy light as Bessian can attest to. It was funny when you killed me there, you then attempted to raid. When the revenants came, I thought you were a dead man when I saw what they did to you. I watched you flee with sliver of life left. I do not remember if we crossed paths since but thanks for the experience, it was educational.

Actually, when I killed you it was sheer luck. You were lagged, but it wasn't anything I could control. While it was educational for you, it was also the day I learned that protective shield stops shield bash .

I learned respect for those revenants that day. They pretty much beat the daylights out of me, and kept lagging me. I remember going back to raid Scarab another time and there were two sets of Revenants at the Lich, with the memories of my ass kicking the last time I decided to bide my time and not tempt fate.
