Role Guidelines: There once was a small orphanage run out of a private home in Seantryn Modan called Ardenwood Manor. It was an old place with expensive things that you were not allowed to touch and cots for maybe fifteen children. You spent much of your childhood there growing up, but your memories of the place are scattered and hazy.
There was an event outside of the orphanage where multicolored motes of light snowed down from the sky and faded just before touching the ground. Some of those lights touched you. The orphanage is gone, now, having burned down in a fire that claimed the lives of four children. You survived the fire but hardly remember it.
Your childhood dreams and reality seem to mix and mingle, and you find yourself having difficulty at times distinguishing the two.
You arrived at the orphanage as a young girl. You lived with your parents in an old wagon deep in the dark woods of the Southern Continent. You felt as one with nature. Even as a child, you found you could command plants to move and intuitively understand wild creatures. You never realized it was anything special, and you used your abilities to entertain and delight yourself. You kept it secret from your parents, but they may have suspected something.
One night, your parents vanished after going to investigate loud sounds in the woods outside. From the darkened wagon, you heard some predator’s terrible noises, thrashing and crunching. When morning came, you gathered the courage to look outside. Blood stained the grass outside, but there was no sign of your parents’ bodies.
You were able to fend for yourself fairly well, but a well-intentioned adventurer found you and brought you to Seantryn Modan. It was foreign and disconcerting to you.
By the time you arrived at the orphanage, you were in shock. After some time, you grew accustomed to city life. However, you would often find yourself staring longingly outside the gates. The trees called to you, but at the same time, you knew that whatever took your parents was still out there. You feel extremely conflicted about the wilderness.
You used to have terrible dreams about the beast that killed your parents. In these nightmares, you would be in your beloved woods and hear distant sounds. The trees would begin to thrash and the sky would darken and you knew, with certainty, that something was coming for you.
Sometimes, you would dream that you were lying, paralyzed in the woods and something was devouring your entrails, but you couldn’t look down to see what. All you could see were the faces of your parents, streaked with blood beside you, their dead eyes staring back at you.
However, ever since you left the orphanage, you have not had dreams.
After the orphanage fire, you sought help from the druid’s guild, which took you in after witnessing your abilities. You have decided to leave for another continent to get away from whatever lurks in the woods where you grew up.
DO NOT: Add any details about any of the other children at the orphanage.
Motivations: You’re trying to find your way. You truly want to reconcile your comfort in civilization and your fear of/connection to the wilds.
Description Guidelines: You look innocent, timid and a little bit childlike. You are clean and organized, and when put on the spot, you slow down and become very methodical.
Quirks: You get extremely nervous when in the wilds - but at the same time, very giddy. It’s a weird push-pull between caution and delight that can cause you to act a bit strangely.
You’re actually fairly street-smart and can tell when someone is lying to you or wants something from you. You might buy pets in the cities and become extremely attached to them. You also *really* love collecting flowers or receiving flowers as gifts.
