Both awesome and terrible, liked animist very much in PvE but I went 0/0 in PK (despite trying a lot!) and that was boring me to hell.
Pretty much being able to pose any danger at all was only because I had impossibly sick gear. Since my hours dropped so much AND I rolled an alt character to PK, I didn't feel justified hoarding it.

I have seen people find success by using that spell that does curse in home terrain then piling on the entangle to wear down and trap people.

This would work with plainsman/marshdweller with pursuit, I think. Aerafr was... caverndweller?

best option is still ambush/snare/ambush/call lightning
you can get fancy with wasps, entangle, and vengeance in a long drawn out fight. animist mostly shines in defending Outlander from raiders.
i've wanted to try an elf animist in Fortress and make use of the talismans. could really do some damage there but would also need to do some decent prepping.

I enjoy our fights. We had numerous and I do not remember any deaths.
Well done.
