Kaisse Tait the Inescapable Maelstrom of Doom, Commander of Battle
DescriptionYou look upon an old, 6-foot man. His once striking features sagging slighty but losing none of their original charm. His square chin and high cheeks still hold their rugged charm but his smile has given way to wrinkles of worry and anger. Where his brown eyes now lie sunken beneath a wrinkled brow, lines radiate out towards his ever receding hair. Grey tints mar the once proud brown hair he had. While he shaves to keep his face clean, something of the ages has given him a permanent stubble all down his neck. His wiry body seems to have lost some weight to it but the sparkle in him still remains as a reminder of what he once was. All his clothes, slightly looser now that he ages, hang baggily about his lithe frame. Cotton trousers and a dark coloured wool shirt are all that protect his wrinkled skin from his heavier pieces of armour. Holding them on, you can see a leather belt. Its original form is hard to see as the dagger sheath and bandages dangling from it hide much detail.
Worn proudly upon his bare forearm, you see a vibrant tattoo.

RoleChapter 3 Kaisse's Faith expanded. Added Wed Dec 21 14:24:37 2005 at level 51:Guerric the White Lion - Kaisse believes all gods are simply ghosts of the past. While a mage in his life, Kaisse can see that there is redemption in the work that Guerric's words continue to do upon the mortal plane. Kaisse's devotion is motivated in two different ways - As thanks for being guided to a greater understanding by Guerric's teachings and as an attempt to continue the redemption of the tainted mortal that created them. Just as his faith dictates, he tries to persuade others but if they wish to convince themselves otherwise he only pities them.
Magic and Fate - As shown in the proofs of work at Azuremaine, the Nexus/Warlock catastrophe, Necromancy and other such anomalies of time/fate, Magic can twist reality in ways unacceptable to any BattleRager. Kaisse fights to tear away things that might change his end. Though he knows he is dooming himself by accepting that Fate could see him lose or win, he refuses to let the cruel truth overcome him. His courage and zeal come from those around him. Though their Fate may not differ from his, it is his duty as Leader to ensure they face it with only the hardiest and bravest of attitudes.
Kaisse's Leadership of the Village - As a leader and a strong source of inspiration, Kaisse has trouble preaching the doom and gloom side of things as much as other parts of Guerric's faith. Though a strong part of the religion, it's used more sparingly as a reminder rather than an enforced way of life. He stands strong against his foes and uses his faith to bolster himself. A pillar to those around him, even in death.
Kaisse's Faith over time - Since Kaisse's belief in Fate is unfaltering, its hard to see his Faith changing too greatly over time. What may develop more is the way in which he uses it to lead. He is determined to be remembered, by everyone, and will go out of his way to ensure hes not forgotten.

RoleChapter 4 Kaisse's Summary Added Fri Nov 18 17:54:35 2005 at level 23:No tears, no cheers - Life is to be taken as it comes. Nothing is left to chance in this world and so you cant put faith in the highs and lows you encounter. There is only one purpose any mortal holds. To ensure he carries out his fate in the purest, most dedicated and determined way he can. For Kaisse, it is a life of chasing what he sees as perversions of reality Things made or altered of Magic. Those that risk tearing fate with their Magic must be removed for the safety of all. Whether the world is fated to crush you swiftly or immortalize you in your fame, it matters not. You are still what you make of yourself, through your actions. You may suffer a critical loss, yet to hold your head high with pride and strive on to the next step is to have done so in the most honourable way imaginable. To critical loss, yet to hold your head high with pride and strive on to the next step is to have done so in the most honourable way imaginable. To ignorantly succeed through your mistakes can make you look more a fool than those you defeated. This is the way that Kaisse follows in memory of Guerric.
The Gods - While they may exist, Kaisse will not acknowledge them as independent entities. His view is that they are sway to fate and so cannot wield true magic. Tied to the fate of men, the Gods are but apparitions of the past that try to guide, as their collective churches believe mortals should be guided. Just as one person's belief can bring new light to reality - a thousand people believing in one memory can bring forth an immortal. Kaisse will treat them as ghosts, rather than gods. Every care and respect should be given to the dead that live on for they have achieved what every follow of Guerrics teachings intends. To live forever, through fame, in mortal memory.
Kaisse's Resolve There are many difficulties involved when it comes to attaining the fame Kaisse desires. Like many, he has emotions than eb and flow with the battles around him. Though he will not let defeats and victories sway him so much as individual actions - he does wish to keep things flowing in a natural way. From bad days to good, he wants all to enjoy his company and unique philosophy. This may mean sacrifices, and token gestures contrary to his belief but always he ensures the underlying tone is one of change. The most active example is his supposed reverence of the gods. He does not approve of any current church and the way it is run but it hardly helps to attempt to oppose religions he has no qualms with otherwise.

Fri Feb 24 13:33:17 2006 by 'Drokalanatym' at level 51 (354 hrs): Guerric told me to go ahead and get this guy tattooed even though he doesn't run into him, so, it's done.
