A Reflection:

It wasn't until I stood over the corpse of Thathrosk the Vampyre that I knew
what it meant. What is this light that burns within, brighter in the absence of
the light of my brothers and sisters? The darkness runs rampant.

I feel a profound responsibility of leadership at this moment. New light has
risen in the Fortress, but will any be ready for the burden of leadership? I
feel the absence of the Marshall and Captain most keenly right now. Light help
me.

Chapter 3

Dreams become reality. Fewer things better describe Travanz' life up to this
point.

However, something new has taken hold of Travanz. After a chance meeting with
the goddess child, Azorinne, Travanz has dreamt nightly of her. Dreams of
darkness that gave way to glorious brilliant light. How can it be that that
little one could see so much and suffer so much and yet still have room for
mercy?

Travanz had never been religious, but, as his dreams go, so goes Travanz.
The time is coming for Travanz to take a more active role in promoting a more merciful world.

Chapter 2

Squires. All along the way he had worked alongside of them, and supported them:
body, heart, and mind. He would be the shield to their sword in the unfolding
conflict against darkness and the defense of the light. The rest of the story
is yet to be written.

Chapter 1

*Born to Galadonian Human mother and a Darsylonian elven father who farmed east
of Galadon.

*Parents were poor but hard-working. This meant Travanz was somewhat of a
latch-key kid running the streets of Galadon.

*Idle-hands and more than a little bit of hunger led to Travanz attempting to
steal some meat from the butcher's counter when the butcher was upstairs. He
was caught but escaped and spent a couple of days hiding out in the weald. His
parents were worried sick, but Travanz was so ashamed it took him days to
return home. When he finally did get the nerve to return home, the butcher had
already spoken to his parents. Rather than turning him in to the authorities
the Butcher offered Travanz a second chance and urged him to better behavior in
the future. He even offered him the promise of a job one day if he was a hard
worker. This was a formative event for Travanz.

*Travanz found he loved spending time in the Weald and returned there often. He
would nap in the grasses beneath the trees on cool afternoons. This was were
the dreams began. At first it was just dreams of animals, but over time the
animals became more strange, composite creatures he'd never seen before. Months
went by with the same dream, until one afternoon he awoke and he was not
himself. low to the ground, senses heightened, furry paws. The experience was
terrifying and amazing all at once, but it startled him to such an extent that
he clumsily ran and hit his head on a rock. When he awoke he was himself again.
Was it a dream? Was it real? This was enough to send Travanz to the
shapeshifter's guild in town...what did this all mean, was it normal?

*Travanz was admitted to the guild and fully committed himself to his studies.
All the while he continued to head out to the weald. Naps became even more
important as he studied shapeshifting! He would still dream of creatures,
sometimes frightening ones. But one afternoon his dreams took on a decidedly
different character. The creatures in his dream began tugging at him, he
followed as they led him north up through the farmland towards the mountains
and eventually to a cold and windswept fortress gate, a glorious structure.
*Travanz traveled with many people in these days, some whom spoke of a Fortress
of the Light. Deeply interested he learned all he could about this place and of
the people within. His naps in the weald continued. Dreams continued. Creature
after creature, tug after tug. Until one afternoon he closed his eyes in the
weald and woke up freezing before the gates of the Fortress. Sometimes our path
chooses us, but we still must accept our path. Travanz pledged to the Fortress
on that very day.

*Travanz would be a Scribe, and goddesses willing, an Acolyte. He had learned
the power of mercy as a young man and would apply it to his life in the
Fortress. In his many adventures, he met more than a few who would become
