Chapter 7

Braughe rests upon his haunches looking out at the waterfall.
The play of the water over the rocky edge as it pours wildly
into a broad pool. The water plays over boulders and large
flat of beige granite perhaps 3 feet under the surface. The
clear tannin colored water sparkling in its rush by clean
sunlight. He marvels as he always does over so many shades of
green, from the brilliant light green of the moss upon the
waters edges to the dark evergreen tree's over arching the
pool. The emerald green of the ferns upon the bank and many
more shades of the shrubs that grow in this verdant spot, its
beauty of the ancients capturing him once again in its thrall.

He marvels at the ancients power in full flood and the wild
growth that fills his eyes and meditates upon the regeneration
of this place after winters cold cessation of growth. He has
seen many springs and loves the season for its promise and
lets the idea of time slip away as he wanders about in the
instincts of his mind.

Chapter 6

It began well. He was excited to see those with whom he spoke
come to the refuge. He added them to the family in high hopes.
But they did not stay. One by one they fell and were silent.
Since that time he has spoken with young felar about Thar-Eris
and what it was. They joined though not to the wardens branch,
but to the sentinels. He is not ashamed of his aid to them,
yet it pains him that the warden branch is lessoned. He see's
others of the light grow strong and understands. Yet it would
bring him joy to see a young warden approach. He perserveres
though his hopes are softened they are not gone.

Chapter 5

Braughe has been given a calling. One to grow the family
within the tree. He has met the Wild Goddess of Birth and
creation, Sennoseri for the first time. He is cognizant of
Her strength with an intrepidation that is more awe than
fear. He is made Sunwarden by the wild Goddess, something
he had not dreamt of in his youth. He learns as he travels
the wilds. He learns as he fights those that would destroy
his home. He learns as he brings a new soul into the family
of the refuge, a strong feeling of responsibility he has
not felt before. He tries not to let it overcome him and
finds comfort in those familiar to him.

Role

Chapter 4

Braughe met a youngling elf in the wilds and conversed with him
at length. He spoke of Outlanders and the Refuge to him with
advice that he sought. Braughe learned a bit more of the common
tongue from him and has taken to this study with a will. He hopes
to become proficient. This young elves name was Ernst. With the
Goddess it seems his words form from the thoughts in his head
and appear far better. He hopes to achieve the same in normal
discourse.

Taenya's going has left a sharp wound to Braughe's heart.
She was such a bright light for the tree and he has felt a bit
lost without her presence. He see's Taenya in the falling water.
He begins to see Her in the leaves in the wind. He does not know
which is which sometimes, although it soon becomes apparent.
Both Her and Taenya's eyes urges him on to do more for growth
within the Tree. For without her the eyes of the wardens dim.
Yet Braughe see's them in the flowers in bloom, the grain golden
in the sun and the moss upon the wet rock. He finds his happiness
in snow, rain, sun and the quiet star light night. And Taenya's
poetry endures.

Chapter 3

He has fought fires in the forests, lit by evil. He has cleansed
mountain and plains near the ice lands of the taint of evil by
chaotic mages intent on the destructon of all he holds sacred.
He finds what the refuge has lost and brought it back to it's
home within the tree. He attempts to speak to those who would
would listen; and a few who would not, but does not seem to be
making an impression. Nightreavers within the tree hunt the light
and he sometimes wonders with what discretion. But he will continue
on. Certain in the knowledge of his reverence for life and
restoration. The beauty of the flowing rivers, growing forests
and wonderfully scented gracious flowers that bloom near the
trails and byways that he travels. It is enough and more for him now.

Role

Chapter 2

Braughe has travelled the lands learning its ways and meeting those
who he might befriend. Some are welcoming though impatient and some
simply appear impatient to be moving on. Perhaps some day they will
be less so and they might speak at greater length. He has met no
true friend. But he continues in hope.

He found a quiet fecund place near a great sycamore and sought the
the one who had created it, Sennoseri, wild Goddess of That-Eris.
He prayed and a being named Tespheriane manifested before him which
startled him. She had the features of a centaur and seemed a part
of the living wilds. She asked that Braughe look out for felar to
help them see the beauty within the wild places and leave the foul
magics behind them. He has not seen any that he might speak with
but perseveres. She also asked that he bring a friend when next he
he came to the Great Sycamore. Braughe has ideas for the request
but is cautious and looks hard at those who might be his friend.
He has also found a home within the great Tree of the Outlander
refuge and seeks to advance the growth of Thar-Eris. Perhaps this
will become his family.

Role

Chapter 1

Braughe (pronounced BrahHe) was born east of where the maps end
east of the Volcano. He ancestors fled the swamps to the west,
escaping the thrall of hell found mages. Although his peoples
racial memory was long, it was the evil that they were more than
their magecraft that lingered in their lore. He grew up in a
valley surrounded by mountains, free to roam the forests and
glades amongst wild rivers and serene lakes. He gloried in the
growth and fecundity of these precious lands and left little
of his presence about to change it.


Braughe grew up well able to hunt and fend for himself, spending
long days away from the clan deep in the forests and mountains
to the west. One day he took a step further and found himself
peeking through the branches at an ancient elf sitting by a
fire in the late evening preparing a hare for a meal. When he
spoke Braughe nearly jumped, for the voice was beautiful and
felt old and wise to his ears. "Come, child, sit by the fire and
share a meal with an old being" he said. Braughe slowly rose and
entered the small glade and stood staring at the elf. The ancient
smiled and swung his arm to a spot on a log across from the fire.


Braughe spent a year with the elf learning that he was once an
adventurer as he spoke at length of Thar-Eris and the sun within
woodlands and the conflicts with civilzation that occurred beyond
these lands. Braughe breathed in each word, slowly leaving his
clan behind. One day the elf said that he was going where Braughe
could not follow. That Braughe need find his place in this world
for himself. Saddened, Braughe moved further west into the lands
seeking to learn and experience all that he can of the world.
