Chapter 5

Peering out the nearby window, Delizakhan found a brief respite of
satisfaction in her current standing. She had met Lord Rillan- in all his
glory, which, to Deliza's surprise, the life-size statue *In all its beauty*
could never have prepared her for the real thing.

Rillan was dreams made flesh. Requiring you to stand a bit more straight in
his presence. Speak a bit clearer, concisely, considering every word as if
they could be your last because, well, they could be. It was within that
moment that she realized she could only hope to be as domineering as her Lord.
She devoted herself to becoming as much of a reflection of her lord as a
mortal could obtain and with the power he had granted her. She knew she could
do it well. Even though she realized most battles could be won with wit and
patience, long before, she had to call upon her power.

The acrid taste of disappointment had regularly appeared at the back of her
throat with the mention of the High Priest. They seemed like more of an
imperial folk tale since neither she nor the two Elites could not remember the
last time they had seen him. In her case? Never.

This was good however, plotting and scheming were always easier without the
direct eye of leadership, which made it much easier to sow doubt and discord
amongst the people. Tenet six immediately came to mind.

DIVIDE TO RULE

She had made it routine to recite her tenets before bed, searing them into the
recesses of her subconscious. So that even if her flesh acted impulsively, her
mind would always be steeled with resolve to act by the tenets necessary to
attain true Darkness and Order.

Becoming of the people was an even more manageable feat. The Provincial
Magistrate Celdremik had already offered to fund her campaign for the throne,
believing one of her stature was a far better fit. This also allowed Deliza to
weave her own wishes for Lord Rillan's image in the spire by gaining the ear
of the elite who make it run.

Working alongside the Herald and becoming *friends* with Winya was important
as another means of showing that she was not just of the people but also
understood the importance and bounty that is culture and societal gathering.

Now, it was a game of patience, tenacity, and resolve as she waited for the
proper opportunities to continue to grow both in Lord Rillan's image and
create a name all her own.

Delizakhan Violetta, Empress of Thera, tempestuous conductor of Darkness and
Order.

The mere thought was enough to cause her power to surge and dance with
delight.

Chapter 4

VI. Divide to rule.

There were many adversaries and allies alike that would have to be crushed or
silenced upon my ascent. In particular, there were three minotaurs amongst the
Empire, and their power worked in her favor as mercenaries, but I also needed
to assert her dominance. Have the power to be dominating with or without their
presence.


The tenets required synergy; together, they were the blueprint for ascension.
A powerful and bountiful framework that I recognize will make me one of the
most powerful to have ever walked Thera.

Chapter 3

I. Laws are in place to protect:
I have studied the law of magistrates, and power is found within the
constraints of civility and order. Self-policing was a tactic I learned here;
by having laws and tenets to follow- one could create a system where
individuals are more inclined to self-police one another-allowing you to focus
lethal force on the few deemed deviant. I believe in and adhere to a system of
checks and balances. I find power in walking the tight line when necessary and
adhering to the Imperial aspects of lethality and vengeance.

Simply put, Laws create a bulwark of protection amongst its citizens and its
hire-ups. It indoctrinates one into the inner workings of civility and order,
which can lead to prosperity and conquest instead of chaos and disorder. Laws
protect the institution of civilization.

II. Banks are in place to protect your wealth: We are a system-a system of
checks, balances, and ripple effects. With the protection of my wealth within
the Banks, I can rest assured in the system that I also project to the
citizens beneath me. Trust the system, give your money to the banks, and we
will care for you.

As I prepare for my oath and ascent, I have stored seventy-five gold within
the Bank. It was hardly a small feat for someone of my stature, but it was
merely the beginning.



III. Those in power shall be worshiped and obeyed.
I have experienced the crushing power of the Maul and the magic that is the
earth. Lord Rillan is to be worshipped, exalted, and, most importantly,
obeyed. Speaking directly to my Lord out of term cost me but taught me all the
same. I threw myself at his talons and was reborn anew. This is the power
behind this tenet. I will be worshipped by all other mortals, especially
within the palace. Even the High Herald acknowledges and regards me only by
the title of
*Your Grace*.

IV. Be The Man of the People
Power is not defined sheerly by strength, wit, and charisma. It is defined by
the eyes, mouth, and ears of those who view you as their leader. To be of the
people is to win them over in heart, mind, and soul. You can remain grounded
in their needs and create a veneer of tolerance while pushing forth your
agenda and vision.

I have begun this by working closely with my peers in the Empire and liaisons
outside of the palace and Imperial Way. With these connections and networks, I
can lay the groundwork for a name that carries weight and, hopefully, the
possibility of a vote.


V. Control the narrative: I excelled at this, perhaps due to my charisma or
intellect. But psychological warfare and the ability to demoralize an
individual was innate to me. I recognized that I could keep a pristine name
while subduing and poisoning individuals who got in my way. This combination
worked wonders in controlling the narrative surrounding me and my ambitions. I
recognized that the higher I climbed, the more likely I was to slip. This
could become of me.

Her father's nickname for her. Anytime her father heard of another case of her
killings or sessions of torture. He always referred to her as his little
Violet. She was named after the Violet Spider. Both beautiful as she was
violent. Her father told her she was a rarity amongst Drows- blessed by Lloth
and shaped from clay by Rillan. He always told her words had power and it was
almost as if with each passing killing she descended more into her web. More
into understanding just who- and what she was.

She would become a woman of legend. The Violet Spider who spun her loom of
fate from upon her Throne. She would use all that she was to write history in
her favor.

Chapter 1

Why walk the straight and narrow when it all belongs to you?

Delizakhan was the daughter of a zealot a man who's hunger for power was only
satiated by the pursuit of knowledge and his God Rillan. The only matter of
worth that Delizakhan father gave her was her love for the Lord who sustains
her and a knack for law and structure. He was not a man of much warmth but
Deliza preferred it that way. What he did not give in love he granted in skill
and knowledge.

He taught her the art of tact.

How to exude presence in any space.

Psychological warfare.

And when all else fails-

Poison.

With her cunning and the right dosage.

Her father let her know that she had all the necessary tools to become
anything she wished.

Initially she likened herself to a politcian. A Magistrate and public
defender.

But the more she interpreted the law- and climbed the latter of Elite Scholar.

The more she realized her needs did not align. Sometimes justice required more
then a sentencing or swift death. Sometimes it required suffering. With the
amount of dragon saliva and crimson flower a paste could be created that if
rubbed within ones wounds-
Could create agony that would even make vengeance blush.
