Chapter 3

-Tolovin Rye is a simple man with a spiritual guidance toward helping people.
-A sailor by trade, his speech is often peppered with slang and metaphors
that have to do with the sea and a sailing life style.
-Tolovin wants one thing out of life, thats to be able to help when others
have need. His passion is the light, goodness, the sea, and enjoyment of a
life lived well in the light.

Chapter 2

Tolovin Rye timidly approached the masters of each guild in turn. Learning
about the various guilds and they offerings. Some he knew he had no desire
to do anythin with. Thieves, assassins, necromancers... none of these things
stuck out as particularly enticing. The warriors guild and the paladins felt
comfortable, but not quite right. As he walked in to the park nearby he came
across the ranger guildmaster and felt a strong desire to speak with him.
Time passed and conversation raged. After some time, Tolovin was sure this was
where he belonged. He was never drawn to a wild life, but when he learned that
they had special learning about being a mariner, he was hooked. He signed up
and made his way.

He also felt a strong desire to speak to and on the topic of the Light. He was
never a wholey religious man, but he always felt he had walked a good path.
He made that decision what seemed like ages ago when he left the orphanage at
Balator. Many of the children there we bullies, and he knew that was not what
he wanted to be. He wanted to be better. Though outside of the light, no
other religion shined brightly enough to him to feel like he could be a
true follower. Azorinne, Einoh, and Baernika, the more obvious choices, felt
like they was far above and beyond his conviction. The only god he felt a
kinship to was the Lucky Lord, Whiysdan. If decided that if he ever prayed
to a major religion, it would be to the lord of Luck, as its quite possible
that was how he survived.

Tolovin pondered his reasonings again and comforted himself in the fact that
he was following his passions. That of the light, and of happiness. He would
do his best to be a guide, not like the zealotous paladins and shamans, but in
a more down-to-earth, practical way. When someone needed a hand, he would be
there to pull them up in to the light.

Chapter 1

"Heave lads! Heave and hold fast!" Shouted Captian Misarack. all about the
ship, the salty spary of the sea drenched the sailors as they raised the sail.
Huddled near the captain's quarters, a group of robed missionaries shielded
themselves for mthe onslaught. The seas churned around them, but the crew
was ambivilant toward the affects. They were true sailors, hardened by years
of service at see, with the youngest, Tolovin Rye, having three years
experience himself. As the anchor-cahin flew out from the capstan, Tolovin
and the crew prepared the gigs for travel to the beautiful island they had
just landed beside. This was the life Tolovin lost.

The fateful day came three days out from port at Hamsah Mu'tazz. THe ship was
fit, but in a bad storm. Tolovin had just come off the mid watch and was
sleeping peacefully in his hammock. Resting before it was his time to go back
on deck. The ship rocked hard as it was battered by the angry waves.
Unbeknownst to tolovin though, the skies spit out a raging waterspout, and
took the ship below.

Tolovin was hit in the head during the wreck and lots conciousness, but it
went unnoticed by him due to being asleep when it happened. As the ship sank,
Tolovin was grasped by a blue-skinned giant in the depths.

"Your soul is pure little one, and I feel its kinship. Your story does not end
here." The giant craddled the young man and swam him toward the shore, keeping
his head above the waves so Tolovin would live. "I will gift you with knowledge
to start a journey. This journey will bring you back to the sea, but your
kinship to its life will strengthen. May you help those like I have you, and
perhaps I will see you again."

Tolovin woke, spitting sand out of his mouth and shaking it from its beard. His
mouth felt lke a cotton ball an his thundered from a large lump on it side.
Confusion set in as he looked around, unable to find his ship, crew, captain,
or the missionaries he came to enjoy listening to. Life it seemed had turned
upside down. He spent a few days milling about, deciding on what to do. It
was obvious that his ship had been lost at sea, but without knowing exactly
how, he wasn't sure how totally lost it really was. He would travel to Mu'tazz
and ask around, then travel to the Academy and continue the work he learned
form the missionaries. He wasn't sure what lead him on that path, but it felt
right. He had a desire to preach, and to love. To help and defend.
