Chapter 1

As darkness overcame his vision, Nimrael paused briefly to contemplate
the path that lead to his crippling exile.

Like many of his brothers born into the wretched society that promotes
females, Nimrael was accustomed to the second or third place amongst
his female siblings. Despite his obvious gift for the arcane, he was
assigned to the ranks of the guards and condemned to a boring life of
mediocrity and swordplay.

But this was not enough for him.

And so he began his treason. Sneaking into the School of Magic, he had
decided to take fate into his own hands. He began to study the ancient
tomes that graced the shelves, soaking in the mystics and the lore as
if it was breath to his lungs and blood to his veins.

But like most treachery in Teth Azeleth, it was uncovered. He would be
punished according to the decree of the Matron. For attempting to gain
vision, his would be taken from him. For attempting to rise above the
status decreed to him, his place amongst his people was revoked.

And so he wandered, blind and alone through a land more dangerous than
his home, empowered only with the sheer determination of a man wronged
and unwilling to die.

And while the entirety of Teth Azeleth assumed him dead...

This was not the end for Nimrael Zau'ghym.

Chapter 2

Through nothing but sheer determination and no small amount of luck,
Nimrael survived his traverse through the Underdark and stumbled upon
the abandoned Laboratory haunted by Kteng's Wraith.

Instantly at home, he "felt" his way around the laboratory by the thin
strands of mana that had been imbued into centuries of experimentation
and was overcome with inspiration. He rummaged through all the remnant
artefacts and devices and began to channel his essence into a creation
of his own devising.

He did not mark the passing of time with conscious thought, but wiping
the sweat from his brow he was suddenly aware of his fatigue.

But his invention was complete.

It may not have looked like much. Mismatched glass lenses simmering as
they emitted an ultraviolet radiation, embedded into a thick leather
strap inscribed with malicious runes.

Sliding these goggles over his head, Nimrael received more than he had
bargain for. Not only was his vision restored, but he had created an
unexpected side effect. Not only could he peer into the physical realm
of creation, but he also unveiled a hidden layer of reality inhabited
by ethereal beings and elusive energies.

Nimrael had inadvertently opened his own eyes to a vast and mysterious
world beyond the perception of ordinary mortals.

And awoken deeper ambitions within himself.

Chapter 3

Call it dark, twisted or grotesque.

Or perhaps call it benevolent or empathetic.

Either way, the change in Nimrael was evident. He had used Magic so he
could overcome his ailment and in doing so he had created himself an
enchanted prosthetic that enabled him to "help" others with their own
form of rehabilitation. (To whichever end he deemed necessary)

Driven to the surface with the hunger to uncover more mysteries with
his newfound divination, he has developed the following traits:

1) Rehabilitated under the Sphere of Magic, Nimrael sees Magic as the
key to all creation and success. He champions Magic through his avenue
of research and daily life while reserving an intimate hatred towards
those whom despise it.

2) Plagued by his awoken sight, he seeks answers to the hidden beings
and mysteries revealed by his own enchantments. This pursuit will lead
him to seek out the origins of these creatures and eventually lead him
to the Scions of Eternal Night.

3) He considers himself somewhat benevolent and extremely skilled at
rehabilitation. He researches physical and mental ailments (and often
causes them himself in the name of science) as a means to offer better
services and products to his patients.

4) His unique skillset and magical mindset will inevitable lead him to
the Cadre where he will discover Joihe and her selected few. While he
is apprehensive with the divinity from his experience in Teth Azeleth,
he will eventually find a place of worship at her bonfire.

5) Traits to expand and change as the story of Nimrael develops.
