Chapter 3

One day I was walking down the wagon trail towards the Galadonian settlement
in search of pray in the forest beyond.As I wandered westwards I could not
help but hear drumming coming towards me. The awful sound came closer and I
started to hear the jiggle of a full coin purse. From behind the trees I
spied a human bard drumming while skipping down the road. My blood boiled I
smelled the stench of the city on him. With a snarl I pounced from my cover
using my spear for leverage I landed behind the bard. Spear a blur of
motion, I tripped him to the ground and swiped at him with my claws.
Tripping, thrusting, piercing, I had him in my grasp, blood was spraying
everywhere. Somehow the human managed to gain his feet and drum fiercely.
The sound almost burst my eardrums and I lost grip of my spear, but managed
to wield one of my flails. Crack went the flail as it smashed into him, his
life blood almost spent. With another harsh drum the bard caused immense
pain to me. I fled, blood leaking from my ears. With a snarl I gripped my
flail and pounced back onto him, bashing his skull in with a clump of his
hair ripped from his skull. I quickly gathered a couple of potions from the
fallen bard, then crept back into the wilds to tend to my wounds. Looking
at the blood covering my fur, most of it not mine, I smiled. Knowing that
the Nightreaver will now smell the blood of the fallen on me.

Chapter 2

Horekk gathered up his son, what food and water he could scrounge , his
meager possessions and headed towards the City in search of a healer. He
stopped when it dawned on him that there was no one in the city that would
help him. He was nothing, just a poor Felar that could die in the streets
and no one would care. He turned around, and headed away from the lights of
the city, into the dark night of the wilds. The days past as Horekk traveled
further away from the city, he clean air and meager food was actually putting
colour back into his young son.He was able to walk on his own now, but
Horekk knew that they must find food soon, or they would perish. He found a
stream in the woods, and some berries that were edible, some mushrooms too.

For a couple of weeks they wandered deeper and deeper into the wilds, barely
finding enough food and water to survive. While they were crouched down
drinking from a stream a figure stepped from the foliage near them. He
introduced himself as a Sentinal of Thar-eris. He had been watching them for
a few days and would like to help them.Soon some more people came to help
and they were lead back into the wilds for a short walk to the encampment of
these people. Horekk and his son Zkrokch spent many weeks with these people.
of the diseases that lingered from their time living in the cities,
they soon gained strength in their bodies that they had not known before.
They decided to stay with these people, learn from them, and help them in
their quest to return Thar-eris. Horekk felt the calling of the Sentinals,
and joined them in their teaching and training.Zkrokch however as his
strength grew decided that he was destined to join the Reavers.The spirit
of his mother and sister will always be with him, but he felt he must bring
the fight to the cities, and burn them to the ground lest the world perish
with unfathomable disease and suffering breeding in these foul places.

Chapter 1

Galadon is a prosperous city in the western end of eastern road. An ancient
city with beginnings in antiquity that has grown to the metropolis it is
today. All manner of produce and goods can be purchased here. All manner of
people also call Galadon home, from Nobles, Merchants, Soldiers and
craftsmen. The city of Galadon is home to all races of the world, and all
classes. Beneath the glossy interior of Galadon lies its dark secret, the
poorest of the poor. These peons eek out a meager existence in the shadows
of the great walled city. They gather what food scraps they can from the
left overs of the wealthy. Work is scarce for these unskilled people, and
what work they do get is paid poorly as the Overseers take the greater cut in
every payment.

Galadon is a true beacon of civilization where wealth gains standing and
respect above all else. Horekk is a Felar who lives in a small mud hut in
the outer limits of Galadon. He has two children, a girl and a boy. His
wife, named Qinlarns cares for the children while Horekk finds work to gain
income to feed and cloth his family. Life is tough, Qinlarns did not recover
well after the boy was born but still manages to carry him around with the
girl in tow while they scrounge for food in the refuse.The family is
constantly sick with disease and malnutrition. The few coppers that Horekk
earns from his labour is barely able to buy enough food for them to eat, with
none left over to find a healer for them to see. The smoke from the forges,
mixed in with maggoty scraps saps all the will from this family. One day as
Horekk stumbled home in the dark, with the food he had managed to gather, he
felt something was amiss. The usual sounds coming from his hovel were not
there and he could not see any of his children peaking out at him. When he
pushed back the tattered curtain at the doorway his greatest fears were
realized as he found his wife and daughter had died during the day and his
son barely breathing. A dull wheeze is all he could hear from his son, he
was too weak to even open his eyes. Sadness filled the eyes of Horekk as he
looked around the hovel at his dead wife and daughter.
