Ghendran the Weaver of the Elements
DescriptionBefore you stands a very pale little figure that at first glance looks like a child. Yet looking closer you can tell that he is actually a svirfnebli, as there is a look of wisdom and age in his face. Wild black and white hair like marble falls down upon his shoulders, some strands braided into plaits which are adorned with gem beads at the tips. His hair is pushed back from his face allowing one to see his slate grey eyes which shine with a youthful joy as he looks at those around him. His face is clean shaven, though one can see smears of dirt and dust upon his skin as it does not seem to bother him in the least. His ears can be seen poking out from beneath his hair and look to be adorned in similar fashion to his hair with little gem studs. A simple smile graces his face as he seems to be truly entertained and curious about those near him. Every now and then this figure seems to stop and cock his head ever so slightly to the side as if he was listening to something. Upon the center of his forehead one can see a smaller gemstone which is affixed somehow, which shifts and shimmers between an assortment of colors. Looking at his hands and arms, there is something which catches the attention of most. Somehow it appears as if gems of a variety of colors have been implanted just below the skin of his knuckles matching that of the one on his forehead.
His garments are plain and ordinary which can be found by most, yet they are covered in dirt and mud similar to his face. However looking close at the garments, one can see they have been taken care of and in great condition. His robes appear to be covered in an assortment of runes which almost appear to shift in the light. Matching that of the dirt upon the garments is scorch marks and other stains of who knows what. Around his waist is a simple belt which dangles several gems that give off a soft knocking sound as he moves.

RoleChapter 7 The stigma of truth Added Sun Jan 29 11:51:13 2023 at level 1:In the days which followed the tragic event, many were left looking for answers to how such could have happened. Ghendran had been questioned over and over, and none wanted to believe his story of the stones whispering to him. Clearly it had to be his fault for who would allow a mad soul to work on something so dangerous! Ghendran could see no one wanted to listen to the truth and only sought a scape goat to give them closure for their own failures.
Ghendran could care less what they said of him and his sanity, but to question his connection to the stone and earth and blame that for the failure? Such angered him, because they refused to listen. Refused to work WITH the stone so that all may benefit from such a union. Why would so many refuse to open their ears and listen to that which surrounds them, that which they live their whole life around?
As the city officials wanted him to be held accountable, Ghendran refused to be their scape goat. There was so much more that he wanted to learn and explore that the stones had whispered to him. How could he do such if they stripped him of his freedom to roam the tunnels which he loved? Luckily they thought him truly mad and had secured him in a cell comprised completely of stone deep within the tunnels. Thinking to keep him away from any populated areas in which he could cause harm and damage. Simple touching the stone and whispering to it, a passage opened up before him allowing a way to his own freedom. Never again would he allow others to define him, to cause him to question his own path and knowledge. People wish to call him crazy? Fine. It did not bother him yet he was done forcing the spirits of earth to shape the whims of society which refuses to listen.
As he traveled through the tunnel, soon a dim light could be seen at the end of such. Emerging into the world, he had to cover his eyes as the light was so blinding. Never before had he been to the surface and it was such an aweing experience. There were so many more whispers assaulting him from all around, yet those of the Earth were louder and clearer. Yet they intrigued him to where he wanted to see and experience them all! To learn of this land and try to find others who were not deaf to such.

RoleChapter 6 Crumbling dreams of stone Added Sun Jan 29 11:49:23 2023 at level 1:Refusing to listen to Ghendran, the workers pushed ahead with their expansion of the tunnels directly beneath a section of Craigstone. A day had passed and nothing had happened, which only embolden the crew as it proved little Ghendran was crazy. What they did not see was the small fracture lines which were slowly spreading across the surface of the stone which they had just shifted. They did not have the ears to listen, so Ghendran was not surprised that they did not hear the low rumble of the cracking earth.
With an astounding crack, the earth and stone began to shake as an earthquake began to shake the ground. Ghendran could hear the stones scream out and ran to where they were working, and attempted to do what he could to aid yet it was too late. As the earth and stone shifted, it soon started to collapse as the earth below their own feet gave way swallowing all who were within and that which was above. As the rumbling came to a cease and the dust and rubble began to clear, Ghendran stood on the edge of the gaping maw which now was before him. The earth and stones were quiet now, yet the wails and screams of all those pulled under could be heard. Such death and carnage had never been seen to Ghendran before and it made his blood run cold. This was the true power of earth and stone, when no one would listen to it and tried to fight it.
As crews rushed forth, Ghendran was grabbed and pulled back away from the hole. As people tried to speak with him of what happened, he could only stare and babble in the old ways as he did as a child. Anger grew in those around him, for they assumed it had been something which he had done, for he was the mad one. Many had told the foreman of the whispers and rumors but none of them listen, and now look what had happened!

RoleChapter 5 Set loose into Society Added Sun Jan 29 11:47:55 2023 at level 1:Ghendran graduated from the school of invocation at an early age, granted it helped that he did not have a family or social life to distract him from his studies. He did not seemed bothered by the fact that his family encouraged him to go out and be on his own, while he knew in truth they did not wish him back with them. That they wanted to distance themselves as much as possible as he had always made them feel uncomfortable.
Ghendran found a job sponsored by the guild for the city of Craigstone, where he was given simple task of helping excavate tunnels below the city for expansion. This was a task which had made Ghendran extremely happy as they had relegated him to the deepest parts of the tunnels as they did not wish him around. Working in peace and quiet, Ghendran was the most productive of the crew as his tunnels were quickly formed and with precision. While others struggled to meet the demands given to them, Ghendran worked his way up in responsibility. Ghendran was happy that his work was recognized, yet the burdens placed upon his shoulders was not what he wanted. He did not want this responsibility and only wanted to do simple task where he could be left alone.
However Ghendran could not turn down as the guild directed him to take up the new assignment to work on the tunnels directly below the city. Where true calculated precision must be used to prevent cave ins or collapses from above. As Ghendran got to work by first examining the existing tunnels which had been prepared before he got there, he was aghast at what he found. These tunnels went against the flow of the Earth and many showed signs of stress and cracks. Probing into the Spirits around the earth and stone, he could feel their pain at being forced to flow in such unnatural ways. What was worse was the spirits spoke of a fault line which was forming between the tunnels and the structures above, one which threatened the safety of everyone Ghendran took this knowledge to the foremen who were designing the tunnels, though they refused to listen to him. When they originally asked how he knew of such a thing when no one else detected anything, they laughed when he told them the stones had spoke of it. Crazy from being alone for so long among the stones they told him, and his please were ignored.

RoleChapter 4 To harness one's oddity Added Sun Jan 29 11:45:35 2023 at level 1:Ghendran knew others looked at him in a strange way and whispered behind his back about him, but this did not bother him in the least. He was happy being alone deep within the tunnels of Craigstone, where he had so many tales whispered to him by the spirits within the Earth. They were his friends and family, as he always had a connection to them from his earliest memory. He could not imagine a world where they were not there, for they were apart of him like his own arm.
More so, Ghendran felt a connection to the earth and stones around him as he could manipulate and guide them in many ways others could not. It could not be denied that he had such a talent and his parents thought that maybe giving him something to focus upon would help him socialize more with others. Ghendran honestly could care less, but the thought of teaching him to connect even MORE with the earth and stones gave him excitement.
Enrolled in the school of arcane arts, Ghendran was clearly the youngest one there as so many others appeared to be in their late teens. With the clear age gap between him and the others and the rumors which surrounded him, it was no surprise when Ghendran found himself isolated once again in this new venture. While in general studies, those of the teachers sought to place each student into their field of study and talent. At first the teachers sought to place him into conjuration as it was clear he had a connection to the Earth plane and how he always seemed to be speaking at stones. Yet as Ghendran approached the conjuration hall, panic flooded across his face. He fell to his knees and began to gibber in the language which none could understand, with only now and then words in common. Fear, anger, rage is all that Ghendran could mutter that others could understand, as he pleaded that the elementals were in pain for being in this plane. Clearly madness indeed had hold of Ghendran for no one would truly give such notions to the earth elementals.
The teachers however knew that if he could not even accomplish the simplest of task in summoning an elemental that he would never master the greater arts. So it was determined that he would be enrolled in the study of invocation. It was here that Ghendran became an excellent student as he excelled past even the oldest of students as he had a strong affinity with the Earth. Many thought he was cheating with some sort of talisman or aid yet Ghendran would always tell them that the key was just listening to the Earth spirits and working with them, not against them. There was no strict order or command but a flow to mastering that of the Earth. Where one could guide the power through the earth, but any attempts to wrestle control and it would tear you or the Earth asunder. Of course, he was laughed at and mocked by the students and even the teachers. But Ghendran could care less as usual.

RoleChapter 2 Toddler of stone Added Sun Jan 29 11:43:47 2023 at level 1:Kaspiar was always aware of those hushed whispers as people would stare at little Ghendran, and he could not blame them. It just was not natural for a toddler to act as he did. He would sit hours upon the floor, directly pressed up against the stone babbling and smiling as if it was his mother. And when anyone would try to pick him up and pull him away, the screams that would come from that child was something fierce.
Magadinla had falled into a bit of depression as she blamed herself for Ghendrans odd behaviors. She believed if she had only tried harder to make that bond with him as a newborn, that he would be more social to those around him. That he wouldnt be so cold to someone elses touch, or just give them a blank stare when they tried to interact with him. But with her depression, Ghendran's care had fallen onto a nurse who gave him the bare attention. Only to change and feed him, as no one seemed to feel comfortable around him and often times he was left alone in his room.
This did not seem to bother little Ghendran as he would always be found in the spot which he was left with a smile upon his face. It was only when another living soul tried to interact with him, that his face would change. Most times his little brow would furrow as he stared blankly at the person, with little to no emotion given to the interaction. But as soon as he would be set down, life would return to his face and once again he would play with the stones around him.

RoleChapter 1 The odd little newborn Added Sun Jan 29 11:43:16 2023 at level 1:'I don't know dear, there just seems to be something..off about him. Just look at him staring off at the stone wall.' Looking down at his newborn son, a nervous look spreads across the newly made father Kaspiar. 'oh hush, he is perfect in every way!' scolds his wife Maggadinla, her hair matted and sweat still beading down her forehead. The look lingers a bit longer on Kaspiars face, as he bends down to get a better look upon his sons face. Yet the newborn stares past him and smiles at something unseen behind Kaspiar sending a shiver down his back.
Picking up his son, Kaspiar places him in the arms of Magadinla as a soft whimper can be heard coming from this tiny bundle as if he did not like the touch. Ten fingers and toes and everything APPEARED to be ok with him, perhaps this was just some newborn thing that he would grow out of. Though Kaspiar could not shake this feeling of dread building up within him.
Magadinla however had pushed all of this aside as she looked down at her precious little baby with a smile. Touched, simple or down right broken, she did not care for in her eyes this little bundle was perfect in every way. Even the midwife cautioned that some babies would not latch and that it was a normal thing. Magadinla was sure that the connection and bond would soon follow, or so she hoped.
