Chapter 7

Tanrillinael could stand it no longer.
He had wandered a fair portion of the realm since leaving his home.
Across several oceans and into the woods and lairs of many a new creature.
During his exploration of a hole in the ground and the discovery of Xvarts,
he had to make use of a new spell and quickly teleport away from near certain death.
The first time he landed among a tribe of jade elves in an old forest.
However when he retraced his steps and attempted the Lair again, he was forced
to retreat again and this time he ended up in a large Castle
He found the guards armed with iron weapons, which he both feared and abhorred,
and the gate locked preventing his leaving. It was more than he could stand.
The destruction of the woods, the mining of the hills for the stone used in the Keep
the predations of the guards, it all overwhelmed him and so he set to tear it all down.
His first attempt was to shake it down with an earthquake, but the tremors were not big enough.
So he kept at it, each tremor getting slightly stronger, he hoped
that the stones were being loosened till one last might shake or blast of wind
would tumble them to the grounds where the vines would cover them
And in only a few more years, they'd be little distinquished from other strange hills.

Chapter 6

Today I ran across a camp of dwarves in the mountains to the east of the wood-elves.
As I quietly examined their camp I could see that they were setting up for good.
Their engineer had already mapped out new mines to riddle the mountain.
To try and stop them I decided I would try and use their fear of water
and flood them out. So I set about creating as many springs as I could.
I succeeded in part of the camp, though they were able to divert much of the flood.
I will need to learn stronger magics, perhaps geysers to get them out of these hills.
Though they are as hard to get rid of as the rats in the sewers and streets of Galadon.

Chapter 5

Tanr tried to be conscientious in his studies, mastering all of his first rank spells,
and many of the second tier spells as well. But the endless studying
and repetitive casting and sleeping left his mind wandering.
Often this led to experimenting with the teleport spell, and its' chance for adventure.
However good he got at this particular spell, he still frequently landed
in undesirable locales, many of which resulted in his death.
These he did not even mind so much because it was at least different from the damnable
boredom of repeating spells for days without getting better.
Like most, he hated the idea of losing gear and replacing it, but not enough
to stop the random movement.

Chapter 4

Tan finally found a group of like-hearted compatriots to adventure with
a ranger with much fur and a thief of all things, though one who worships the woods.
With these two, they ventured into dark woods being taken over by trolls.
And they were very good at hunting the trolls.
Enough so that Tan impressed his guildmaster several times after months of stagnation.
Now Tan had a whole new set of spells to learn, so the practice sessions resumed.
With these spells, he had to learn to be more carefull, one in particular
would set the woods on fire if not used correctly. So Tan found
a mine being dug by slaves and promptly went to use these new magics to destroy it.
He burned out the guard post first and then proceeded to try and close the whole mine.

Chapter 3

Wandering through the wilds in a secluded part of the mountains,
Tanrillinael came upon an isolated loch of cold waters.
There he found a monastery surrounded by demons of strange form.
He repeatedly tried to burn, shock, buffet and blast the demons, but could never seem to get them all.
He feared them escaping the loch and invading the surrounding woods.
Tanrillinael decided the only way to prevent that was to block the pass leading
from the Loch, and so he set about pulling down the sides of the mountains.
Trying to build up enough debris that the demons would never escape.

Chapter 2

They came in force, 4 warrior and a shapechanger of the Spire.
Strong, well armed and armored, they attacked, hoping to retrieve what they had lost.
Of course, they were confused a little, they could not regain
their freedom by retaking their scales, but it was what they knew.
When first they came, I used fire and ice to run them off, and they left easily
They regrouped and returned, this time they were smarter, but alas, I was not.
They held one in reserve to await my entrance and proceeded to bring much of my blood to the ground.
Even the wolf who came at my call to help was not enough
So I ran for cover to heal, they came yet again and this time I thought I heard
the Huntress yell for aid, and I charged in only to find all 4 warriors awaiting me.
This time I died before I could utter more than a single spell.
The clothing was gone, taken by those who could not even use it, just to deny
me the pleasure of being dressed.
Fortunately, I reminded myself, I'd rather be free and naked than
a well-dressed slave.

Chapter 1

Tanrillinael was tired. Too tired it seemed much of the time.
The battle to retain the totem of the Ancients within the refuge took too many of his lives.
He went amongst overwhelming odds and came close at times to success.
Other times, he knew he was throwing his life away but it didn't seem to matter to him.
