Dorn Brightsteel the Stalwart Champion of Light, Marshall of the Fortress

Chapter 3

Dorn has spent much time growing, and increasing his power to fight the evil
of the world. He however would feel the pull of Aarn's holy house, and travel
there to explore the home of his god. He walked among the holy forges, and
after offering up his prayers, decided that he needed more of a hands on
experience with the church. He began to take on some of the apprentice tasks
of a smith. He would spend long hours pumping the bellows of the holy smiths
and not stopping, until he was satisfied with flame that will produce the
holy blades. He also began to take on the duties of a "holder", using the
long tongs of a smith to hold the current creation for a holy smith of Aarn.
He would take this time to examine the creation, observe the chosen of his
god, and to make his own observations about the symbolism of it all. He is
beginning to feel more like he belongs in this church, but he will not begin
a holy forge work of his own, until given permission by his lord. He believes
that to just use such holy tools, without permission, would be blasphemy of
the highest kind.

Chapter 4

Dorn was not the most popular dwarf growing up. He was one of the last his
age to be able to grow a beard. He was very clumsy, and took a very long
time to grow into, and get used to his growing body. To stave off the other
young dwarf's taunts, he would exaggerate his problems, and make everyone
laugh at his antics. Eventually he grew used to his frame, and his problems
one by one began to disappear. However he kept up the act around the other
dwarves. No matter how angry he grew at their abuse and taunts, he never
struck out, he would just pour even more of himself into his act. On the
final day of their military schooling, he amazed the teachers and students,
by winning all of the competitions of skill and strength. Rather than be
smug about his accomplishments, he left the dwarven city of Akan, to strike
out and seek his fortune. He said goodbye to his family, known to all as
the Brightsteel clan, and left for points unknown. He apprenticed himself
to the paladin guild in Galadon, and began to learn all he could from the
paladin grandmasters. He continued his oafish antics, and his duel partners
would always be surprised, when weeks later he lets go with a sudden burst
of skill and prowess. The guildmasters did not completely approve, but called
his tactic a sound one. He graduated near the top of his class, and went
in search of Lord Aarn. He considered this god the best suited to him, and
his methods for controling anger and rage. Even with his antics, his dedication
to the light has been unswerving, and he knows he would make a good son of
Aarn.

Chapter 1

Dorn went into Lord Aarn's shrine, overwhelmed with grief over his dwarven
brother Gumbldink. He grabbed a shard of half-molten mithril and carved
"Gumbldink" into his chest in a gory tattoo. In part to keep the memory of
his brother fresh. However it is a painful ugly reminder, of what can happen
When one loses hope, and lets their dedication fall.

Chapter 2

Dorn has come a long way in his life. He has gained the approval of his
god twice. He has become a Maran, and a valued member of the fortress.
With these added duties, he decided it was time to refine his act a bit
concerning his clownish antics. He stopped tripping and acting out during
fights. With the strength of his enemies it was endangering himself and his
brothers in arms. He has gone down to just speaking with an impediment, and
occasionally throwing a fight or mis-healing someone, to keep an air of
ineptness about him. Never to the detriment of the light, but enough to
make enemies shake their head at how he can be such an oaf.
