Xaran Windsong the Weaver of the Elements
DescriptionBefore you stands a peculiar looking man of average height with a that catches your attention. Not overly muscular, nor weak looking, the man before you has a wild and unkempt look to him. His skin is dirty and smeared with mud and soot, makeshift camouflages in random streaks covering his exposed skin. His cautious eyes are a soft emerald green, twitching ever so slightly as he vigilantly watches his surroundings. Occasionally his eyes flicker softly with a magical glint, if only for a brief moment. His hair is a greasy mess of black tangled knots that hangs shoulder length and is tied back from his face with a torn hide strip. His face lacks emotion, with a serious look to him that emits an almost commanding presence. His subtle movements are deliberate and purposeful, his fingers twitch lightly and instinctively almost too quickly to notice. Under his various assortment of armors, his garments are clearly simple and handmade from various hides, cloths and plants. They are torn, stained and dirty, giving him a savage and uncivilized first impression. Most of his jewelry is of primitive make, but intelligently crafted with delicate carvings of elemental runes randomly hanging from his armors. Certainly standing out apart from an average common man, another glance at him and you are able to take closer notice that

RoleChapter 5 The tears of Thar-Eris, Xaran's misjudgment and dedication to not falter again Added Sat Apr 17 18:32:13 2021 at level 39:Xaran has grown, and his bond with Thar-Eris was growing, he felt in harmony with her for the first time, confident in being her conduit and interpreter of her signs. He sought to do more though, but soon he would understand he was still but a student, arrogant to how little he truly knew.
He went to the past of Thera through a portal, with an idea in his mind. He could try to change the present burning and destruction of the forest of nowhere by attempting to alter its past failures. He would do the culling himself, carefully controlling the burn and killing the forest burners, and what he thought were creatures that were as pets to them. Rain poured from the sky, and he heard her cry out to him, but not in the same way she had before. She was weeping over him, sad at his actions. He realized to his horror he had his history all wrong. The tresnores and beasts there were part of the balance of the forest himself. Horrified, he realized Thar-Eris was weeping over him.
Feeling the fool for trying to alter the great cycle, he accepted his shortcomings and sought to make sure such carelessness would never happen again. Even the ashes of nowhere were growing once again, and he realized he was wrong to disturb her natural cycle by trying to alter the past. He could only look to the present and future to work on strengthening the flow of the cycle. He wrote a bark to the rest of the pack warning them of how easily one could misread her signs. Xaran sought to do her will with his hands, but foolishly did more harm than good. He has since taken vows of tranquilly to avoid killing natural creatures except in self defense or dire need, and has tried to balance his misdoings by focusing on helping the wardens whenever possible until the cycle's balance was in harmony again.
He still seeks the guidance of the Harbinger, and the Ancient Ergush, on how he can become a better sentinel of the tree. He has much to learn, and he wishes her to favor him again, and sing to him, but his connection to her has weakened, and he wishes to regrow that bond to hear her sing again. He still seeks to learn from the Ancient about nature's laws and how he may be a force for them, but healing his wounds to Thar-Eris was his single and utmost priority.

|
RoleChapter 4 Xaran-A glimpse into the mind of a free man Added Mon Apr 12 15:54:04 2021 at level 38:Xaran seeks to learn of nature's law from the Lord Ergush, but is ashamed of his past. Even with his fierce elemental magics, he felt the lord of storms would look down on him for his former life with his father. He has committed his life to her though, and knows the guidance of the Ancient Ergush would only help him learn more of her ways, and guide him, and teach him how to better serve her through the understanding and preservation of the natural order. Now that he has many years in the wild and understands more about her, he will seek the shrine of Ergush and attempt to become a student of the storm. Instead of a ripple in a pond, he would learn to become a tornado of terror to any of the abominations plaguing her lands.
Xaran is meticulous in his methods and only accepts and expects mastery of himself so he might be more in harmony with her when he asks for her elements to aid him or guide him. Tireless, he often finds himself roaming Thera as the sole wolf of the pack, constantly curious to visit the next cave or grove and take in the beauty of it. He fights when he is able, but not for the joy of slaughter, but because he would protect her and the grove with his life, a solemn undertaking to him that only grows in conviction as his bond with her grows and she grants him new gifts and lets her elements flow through him. He hunts, but his true care is to make sure the great cycle continues to move as it should. He watches to balance the branches, sometimes doing the work of a warden, or reaver as needed. He feels the sentinels are the roots of the tree.
Xaran is intelligent enough to know to trust his instincts, but he is well educated and no fool to knowledge and history. He sees his superior intellect as a distinct advantages of out maneuvering her enemies and dictating the terms of his ambushes. Above all things, he hates the Empire, and the Spire, for their past transgressions, everything from destroying the Sylvan grove and sapling, to his his own past and his fathers hand in strengthening the Empire with taxes. He is ashamed of his family and lives his life with the slightest hope that one day, his dedication to her, with guidance from the Harbinger and the Ancient Ergush will help him right the wrongs of his past, and lift his guilt so he can be truly free of his past and look to the future

RoleChapter 2 The history of Xaran part 2 Added Mon Apr 12 15:40:31 2021 at level 38:Xaran left the cities and everything behind and began traveling the wilds. The further he got from the city, the more he shed himself of the burdens of civilized living, the better he felt. That whisper in the back of his head that was blocked out before became a song to him on the winds now. He felt guided by something, his magic flowed more freely and the tranquility of the wilds finally made him feel comfortable and at peace.
Walking mostly alone and in solitude, he went forest to forest, desert to swamp. He saw more of the world than he ever did from a wagon on a road. He met tribes, saw people living in harmony with the land and the simplicity of it made him happy. He felt free, and watching others live free gave him joy. He listened and looked for the signs that he had been seeing, ever so faint as they were. Trusting the winds, he found himself in a burned forest, staring down at a meteorite. When he got near it, the whisper in his head became a scream, and as he touched it with his hand, a vision flooded his mind, a vision of nature, destruction, devastation...the work of mad imperials and arbiters from long past days. As the memory receded, he felt drawn to another meteor, and a third. Each one searing a memory of histories past into mind as if he experienced it himself. This was his first knowledge of any sort of refuge, the Ancients, and the vision of Thar-Eris. He knew he needed to seek out this refuge of wild hunters and free men, and learn more of their ways.
Xaran found the refuge and offered his services to the huntress. Immediately a figure emerged from the trees, the Harbinger of the sentinels in the flesh, so to speak. They had been watching Xaran. A long conversation ensued, the Harbinger mentoring Xaran in what the tree stood for. Xaran longed to roam with the pack, but the Harbinger wished him to learn from some of the other members and walk her wilds more, to truly think on the scale of what a life in true service to her (Thar-Eris) would ask of him. Xaran set out to learn, and in his wandering learned he had a connection to her through his elemental magics. Since he did not subjugate the elements, but wove them almost in a way where they flowed through him freely, he found he could use the elements to let her guide his path. It was not long before the Harbinger saw his potential and dedication to her, and granted him a branch in the refuge tree to rest on.

RoleChapter 1 The history of Xaran part 1 Added Mon Apr 12 15:31:37 2021 at level 38:Xaran was not born special, other than a keen instinct and intellect he was rather quite average. He was however born into wealth, the son of a ruthless imperial tax collector. Wanting for nothing, he held the silver spoon and was surrounded by riches and comforts.
He never felt comfortable watching his father make poor people poorer and even take slaves when no other tribute could be made. Something inside him was crying out, a deep instinctual feeling in the pit of his gut, but the voice was drowned out by the many distractions blocking it from his reach.
His father insisted that he take up a profession. Xaran, in an effort to spite his father, chose The Invokers guild, knowing very well his father despised the arcane guilds because of the betrayal of the Arcane sect. Nonetheless, he was given a private instructor and began to learn the basics of the elemental magics.
Xaran and his instructor did not see eye to eye, he infuriated his teacher. His instructor insisted he bend the elements to his will to achieve the desired spell effect, but Xaran let the elements flow through him, using himself as a vessel for the elements to commune through him to create the spells. It was a symbiotic relationship of asking and receiving. His instructor quit out of frustration, but Xaran was convinced he understood the elements more than his teacher did and the quality of his magic showed it. He continued his training alone.
A couple years passed, and Xarans father fell ill, and eventually succumbed to his sickness as all living creatures do. Despite there being no father and son bond between them, his father had nobody else to leave his belongings to. The Emperor was to come to Hamsah and demand he take the bloodoath. He quietly snuck off to the registry and distracted the bookkeeper, erasing his name and set fire to his fathers home. He took nothing but the clothes on his back and left Hamsah behind him, moving to Seantryn Modan in hopes of keeping his head down and living a more simple life. He started earning his food and way as a fisherman, but soon he realized traded an emperor for an empress, and he was living in more of the same, and he was unhappy. Something about this life did not suit him.
