Chapter 12

As she enters her golden years, Leuoa is very pleased with how things have
turned out. Enough seeds of deception were sewn that she can now tell the
truth and confuse her enemies. And while her enemies may not understand
her true motives, she certainly makes them weary of the shadows. At the
same time, she is known to those of the light to as an ally, protector, and
lawless killer. It is just what she was hoping for. However, she became
so involved in pulling off all the short cons, she almost forgot the long
con.

Deception and chaos are merely tools to help her become the perfect assassin.
The stage is set perfectly for her to continue working on this art, while
still keeping Nalasul entertained enough to stay safe. For her final act,
she wants a trail of corpses to lead the way to her true mark. Even if the
attempt is unsuccessful, she will die happy knowing the wicked will have to
rethink how far one of the light is willing to go to stop them and others of
the light will rethink if they are going far enough. That, and she loves a
challenging target.

Chapter 11

As Leuoa grows old, she has decided it is time to move to the next phase of
her plans. The plans are also being adjusted since the last phase did not
go exactly as expected. It was her goal to rally followers to Muhadin and
later reveal herself as a Baroness. Troubles with Cedany and Einoh hindered
her plans with Muhadin. She has also been enjoying surprising some of her
enemies by retrieving the Equation or dispersing them. So, she is beginning
to reveal more of who she is, as planned, but in a different order. Either
way, she believes she will still be able to inspire others of the Light to
terrorize the wicked without restraints or remorse.

Chapter 10

The former Shadow Lord Hararhar inspired Leuoa in her quest to make the
wicked afraid. Her tenacious hunting made him think she was a follower
of Muhadin, and that scared him. After a trip to the Lyceum, Leuoa came
up with a way to take her master con to the next level.

Muhadin coming back from the dead would certainly strike fear into the
wicked. Since she doesn't really want him back, shell just use rumors
of Muhadin's return instead. She is starting by telling the Fortress
that this is her intention. Once she has a few from the Fortress
convinced, she will spread the rumor to the rest of Thera. Besides
causing fear, at some point it may become well know to her enemies that
she is one of the Light and Muhadin provides a way to continue to hide
her real motives when that happens.

To help rally those of the Light to follow Muhadin, and to add to the
confusion of her enemies, Leuoa is also starting rumors about the return
of the Shadow cabal. It works into her cover as a bounty hunter and
pretending there is a secret underground network of blades for hire.
She has been dropping subtle hints to enemies and allies alike about
dangers stirring in the shadows.

All the while, she has been getting closer to Neajess. She does not
think he has realized that she only helps him with the wicked and a few
villagers that hunt her. It also seems that while his other enemies have
been keeping him in check so far, he will soon be too powerful for anyone
but her to take him down. She sees it as important as ever to continue to
gain his trust. As a bonus, she thinks he will be useful in spreading
rumors, until her sword goes through his back.

It is an ambitious plan, but not her most ambitious. Even if it doesn't
all come together, she will enjoy the chaos and fear it brings to her
enemies along the way.

Chapter 9

The need to deceive Nalasul became apparent to Leuoa during their last
meeting. As they talked about deception, Leuoa could feel the goddess
pulling her strings a little bit. It seemed like just a little test,
and Leuoa thinks she passed without revealing she knew it was a test,
if it was really a test. However, she knows the goddess of deception
could not be easily fooled.

When she chose to follow Nalasul, Leuoa assumed the goddess was eventually
going to use her for some sort of sick entertainment. It starts with
gauging if Leuoa would betray a gnome acquaintance for her goddess. When
she does that, she thinks she'll then be asked to betray another and
another. Eventually, Leuoa believes Nalasul will ask her to strike down
one of the light. When she refuses, she thinks there's a fair chance
Nalasul could end her existence for no longer being entertaining. That is
why Leuoa's decided she must assassinate Nalasul.

There is no more ambitious mark than the goddess of deception herself.
She knows she'll never get the goddess to trust her, but she might get her
to drop her guard for just a moment. This is now her real motivation to
become the perfect assassin. Even if she fails, her attempt could send
shockwaves throughout Thera. Leuoa aims to become a true master of
deception and make all wicked fear the shadows, immortals included.

Chapter 8

After some lessons from Nalasul, Leuoa is becoming quite proficient in the
art of deception. The most recent of her discussions with her goddess,
however, left her thinking about to what ends she would use this new tool.
It is still her purpose to make the wicked fear the shadows, but she's
realized she can do more. For her masterpiece, she's going to demonstrate
the power of deception to others of the Light.

The groundwork for this is already well underway. Few of her enemies
understand her true motives. She reveals tidbits of information, to see
what they want to believe she is. Then, she encourages them to further
follow this wrong line of thinking. Some think she's an assassin for hire.
Others think she kills randomly. High-ranking Tribunals think she respects
the law. Not many realize that she doesn't care about wealth, she carefully
chooses her prey, and she is bound by no laws.

Fear and confusion are growing in her enemies as she hones her skills in
deception and murder. She'll continue to improve her ability to kill from
the shadows while slowly reaching the pinnacle of her guild. When she has
become an assassin of great renown, then she will reveal herself as the
Baroness of the Light. It is her hope this will inspire others of the Light
to shed their inhibitions and, at the same time, make her enemies paranoid
about who else has been deceiving them for years.

Chapter 7

After her first meeting with Argothus the Sickly, Leuoa realized there was
much more to the Barons, Magic, and Chaos than she had thought. While
Argothus said he didn't see a place for her among the Barons, that has not
deterred her in the slightest. Instead, her curiosity was piqued by the
conversation and she started speaking with Barons about Entropy.

To no surprise, every Baron had something different to say. One thing they
had in common was encouraging free-thinking. To her, this was almost more
respectable than the honorable paladin blindly following a code. She also
learned a bit about the connections between magic, chaos, and the veil.
Everything she heard made her more certain she wanted to be a Baron. So,
she has decided she is one.

She's been thinning the veil. She's looking for items Pininip said are
important. She uses potions and pills all the time. She's following some
leads on how to cast simple spells. She is a true believer in freedom.
The only thing keeping her out of the tower was waiting for permission. It
doesn't matter to her if she's recognized as a Baron. The other members
of Entropy don't seem to care, so why should she?

Chapter 6

Joining the Barons of Chaos is just one of two major decisions Leuoa has been
considering. The second decision being considered is to become a follower of
Nalasul.

Leuoa doesn't know much about Nalasul, but she finds most of what she's heard
to be abhorrent. Why would she follow a goddess she despises? It is because
Leuoa wants to fight evil with evil's own weapons. She wants to become crueler
and more deceptive. Immortals of the light would never teach her such
tactics. Still, she knows seeking such help comes with a great risk. So,
Leuoa will seek out the goddess Nalasul, but with extreme caution.

While Leuoa is determined to fight the wicked, she does not want to become one
of them. To ensure this, Leuoa will continue working regularly with the
Fortress of Light. This serves the dual purpose of helping her not to fall
into darkness and to inspire the Fortress to use more extreme methods.

Chapter 5

The Fortress had taken the Codex, since Leuoa said she would deal with the
Empire's assassin and shaman that would attempt to retrieve it. What she
didn't tell was the new method she would try. Knowing the combo would be too
much for her alone, she tipped off an anti-paladin baron of chaos as to the
location of the Imperials. She saw this as a way to help save the Maran
without adding danger to any of the light. While she did have to fight all
three at some point, it proved effective foiling the retrieval.

Once the Imperials had given up, Leuoa asked Neajes about the purpose of their
tower. She was impressed it was simple enough that even a fire giant could
explain it: Freedom. This caused her to do some serious thinking about the
Barons of Chaos.

Chaos and magic were both tools she'd always used. She would never ally with
an anti-paladin, or any of the wicked, but that was not a requirement of the
Barons. Neajes even encouraged her to join the tower and to continue to hunt
him -- he was going to keep trying to get her soul either way. None of them
would ever ask her to compromise her principles. She would not be given any
responsibilities or rules. It could also help her be seen as a terrorist in
the eyes of the wicked, while expanding her chaos repertoire.

This all comes at a time where Leuoa felt her life of nearly complete isolation
was beginning to limit her growth. Now that she knew what she wanted to be, it
seemed wise to seek guidance to achieve her full potential. For these reasons,
Leuoa has decided to start praying for the gods of chaos to allow her to join
Entropy.

Chapter 4

Still trying to find her place in the world, Leuoa
often reflects on the time she spent with her parents.
As the trio would slink through the shadows, they
would occasionally split for short missions. These
were some of her happiest memories. It was when she
would get to put all her training into action. Having
two very different parents, Leuoa learned two very
different types of lessons. Remembering the lessons
of her partents made her feel less alone in the shadows,
as she stalked her prey.

While her mother had vowed not to harm any of the light,
she did not hesitate to kill others to complete their
missions. She taught Leuoa leaving anyone alive, showing
mercy, put them all at risk. They never shared the
details of how they accomplished their missions with her
father. Her mother's vow not to kill was not a vow to
help. From the shadows, they watched many good people
die. While this may sound like typical, cold, dark-elf
behavior, in this case it was actually done out of love.
Leuoa now realized everything her mother ever did was an
attempt to protect her.

Her father took a very different approach. He was able to
see red auras, and they didn't kill anyone that didn't have
one. While they would always remain in the shadows, her
father would do what he could to help people they saw.
And unlike her nearly silent mother, her father would
constantly try to explain things, to help her better
understand the world and morality. During one of their last
missions, her father showed he knew much more than Leuoa
gave him credit for.

As a Maran, he had specialized in gathering information about
the enemy without engaging. He told Leuoa that he knows what
happeneds on her missions with her mother. It was going to
be her greatest challenge to balance what she learned from
each parent, he told her. She was challenged by her father
to forge a new path unlike either of her parents. She was to
balance the ability to kill like a dark-elf with the ability
to feel compassion like a Maran. He also told her the drow
were closing in on them, and soon she would be on her own.

As Leuoa was extracting her sword from Zinoza's heart, she
finally saw her path. With ties to no one, and the ability to
switch between compassionate and cold-hearted, she is in a
unique position. She is going to be a heartless killer that
terrorizes the wicked, or any other that would dare to strike
those of the light. Leuoa is going to make evil fear the
shadows.

Chapter 3

Leuoa has been developing her own rules to live by in
the years since her parents' death. She is no longer
completely isolating herself from everyone. She's also
been fighting more than her parents would approve of.
Most of her life is spent alone and emotionless as she
tries to atone for her greatest mistake.

The isolation ended with her warning a storm giant about
a dark-elf assassin waiting outsider his guild. Then,
she asked a paladin for help finding a necromancer. Now,
she regularly communicates with others of the light and
occasionally with those not of the light. Still, she
refuses to form any lasting relationships.

Her father was a thief and mother an assassin. They left
the shadows for short, well-planned battles and then quickly
faded away again. Her parents avoided others that could
see them and never fought to save anyone else. Leuoa actively
hunts duergar, thieves, and other assassins. To save the
lives of others of the light, Leuoa has even killed those of
a gray path. However, she will only fight someone of a gray
path if she catches them in the act of harming good or helping
evil.

Leuoa has killed many wicked souls, and a few not so wicked,
and feels zero remorse or guilt. However, she's haunted by the
memory of killing an innocent arial shortly after joining the
assassins' guild. A good-hearted child tried to save his
wicked father and Leuoa killed him before she realized what was
happening. This is her only feeling of guilt, but it haunts her
badly.

As she stalks her prey from the shadows, she thinks of the arial
boy. It is her reminder to be careful and patient. She's had to
learn to watch others of the light die. It bothers her, but she
sees it as necessary to make sure she perfects the art of a clean
kill. Innocent people are always going to die, but never again
by her fighting recklessly. Some part of her is trying to wash
the blood of the innocent from her hands, using the blood of the
wicked.

I thought I roled a male. I either accidentally roled a female or did something IC to change
my sex. I'm just going to pretend I've always been female but wanted to explain why my first
chapter is about a male and now I'm female.

Chapter 1

Two spies meet in the shadows. Forbidden love between drow
and Maran. Giving up everything. Constantly hunted. The
only way to be together. All worth it as their son is born.

The boy grows. Always on the move. Stealthy and patient.
A family in the shadows.

Noises in the night. Father buys time. Mother and son in
secret chamber. Red spiders on the cloaks of drow. They
knew this day would come.

Father tortured as bait. Family waits in silence. Timing
is everything.

The moment comes. Mother moves. Not a rescue mission.
Weapons clash. Blood spatters. Many drow and one human,
all bleeding to death. Mother smiles. The boy is finally
safe.

Remembering teachings. Attach to none. Judge by action.
Wait for opportunity. Make the world safer. Remain hidden...
