Chapter 6

Hope is a terrible thing, it forces us to revisit the tragidies of our past
over and over again. It is no different for Minverna Heizenhoff. In fact
the very reason she still carries her coward husband's name is for the hope
of finding her child. Takie had been just old enough to learn to say his
full name, Takie Ijuro Heizenhoff. It was possibly Min's fondest of memory
of her son, on his 6th birthday to be given a middle name at his
confirmation. To this day Min is hesitant to change her name for the hope
that young Takie might come looking for his mother one day.

While partially living in the past, as any mother would in her shoes, Min
understood that her best hope of finding out what happened to was to atleast
in part move forward with her life. She thought long and hard about where
she might serve, absent her family and her child Min fell upon the same
structures that had defined her parents. Despite repeated pleas from her
mother to join her in Darsylon, min decided that she would serve in a cause
grander than the fair city of elves. To protect the innocent, perhaps to
atone for the one inocent she could not protect and to continue her person
vendetta against the Empire... Min pledged herself to the Fortress. Mostly
Min just hoped that a life time spent in service of the light, however short
and violent, would give her the internal peace that had eluded her so far in
life

Chapter 5

It has been five years since the fateful afternoon, when Min woke to find her
two great loves missing. Eaeko vanished after assaulting Min in the night,
along with their baby boy. At first the towns folk and even the authorities
from Udgaard feigned interest and investigated the abduction. But before
long most parties involved were just glad to be rid of Eaeko and his
incessant scheming, and stopped searching for him or the baby boy. Min spent
better part of those years personally searching for her child , to no avail.
Where ever Eaeko had gone, he had done well to cover his tracks, she could
not track him by name or by description anywhere on the mainlaind and eastern
continent. Nor did he surface again anywhere in the known realms using the
same name again. A heart broken Min even went so far as to spend months
watching the comings and goings of boats, hoping to hear of any traveler with
a thick udgaardian accent and a raven haired baby in tow. Over the course of
time she still traveled frequently to Udgaard and her home town, each time
taking great care to reinvestigate the case all over again. Often times
getting increasingly violent and bitter towards the unsavory citizens of
Udgaard as well as the Udgaardian watch. Even to this day Min can be found
traveling through Udgaard, attacking watchmen and guildguards, ruffling any
feather she can in hopes of finding a clue about her sweet baby.

Chapter 4

It was not till his blind ambition began to sour his compatriots and
collegues that Eaeko's obsession took a dangerous turn.Over night it seemed
that Min's husband became convinced that his superiors and colleagues alike,
were conspiring to keep him from the promotion he deserved. He ranted and
raved to Min, that Udgaard and himself were both being betrayed by sabatouers
that could only think for themselves. He scoffed at any reason Min tried to
get him to see, after long accusing Min of being in on the slight. One night
he gave Min an ultimatum, he she loved him she would leave with him and join
the Empire, where true order reigned. Shocked at the absurdity of it all
Min, implored with Eaeko to see the light of reason. The Empire was purely
wicked, a perverse version of order that even Udgaard did not approach. As
they fought into the night, Min lost count of how many times she was accused
of horrible vile things by the man she loved. As exhaustion set in and she
asked him to leave, he turned on her with blunt weapon in hand.Last thing
Min remembered was how ridiculous her love looked, seething in rage, an iron
wok in hand and murder in his eyes. Before she could react a dull iron thud
ushered her into darkness, she would take late in the afternoon to an empty
house, and the horror set in.

Chapter 3

Still, Min did not mind it so much, the home life agreed with her quite a
bit. She found joy in being a mother of a beautiful baby boy that stole her
heart the moment he was born. It also allowed her to stay true to her
training, maintaing a strict daily regiment of exercises and movements she
learned from her mother's training over the years.

As the early years of marriage wore on Min's husband became much more driven
in his career. It was not just the fervor for the greatness of Udgaard that
she once found so endearing, there was now an unbriddled ambition steeled by
fanatical determination that seemed to define the man she loved. An early
warning sign that manifested itself is the frequency of official dinners that
Eaeko hosted, at each dinner it seemed it was himself and his family that was
on display. He would tout the elven lineage shared by Min and their child
and how the his family's bloodline would bond the mountain kingdoms together.

Chapter 2

Minverna, Min for short, grew up in a small hamlet in the mountains of
Udgaard, with a population that made up a surprisingly diverse group of
people.A small but busy hamlet at the intersection of elven, gnomish, and
udgaardian influence, a fair amount of settlers from the the kingdoms called
Min's hometown home. Min is a child of two kingdoms so to speak, her father
a retired guard of the udgaardian border patrol and her mother his
Darsylonian counterpart for some years.Though it is not Min's story and
perhaps better left to be told another time, it is worth noting that Min's
father and mother served their oposing roles for better part of fourty years
before Mins' mother followed him into retirement. By this time Min's father
was well into his middle age and Min's mother remained relatively young for
an elf.

It was during this phase in her life Min, fell for a fellow that reminded her
of her father. The same udgaardian sense of belonging to a greater entity,
that each citizen was a cog in the engine of greatness that was udgaard. Her
father used to regale her with epic tales of battles and adventures he
undertook for the greatness of Udgaard.In similar fashion this young man
Eaeko, won her heart with tales grand adventures in the service of his city.
Eaeko spoke often of battles against raiders in the east, barbarian tribes
that gathered for war on a regular basis. Eaeko spoke of adventures he had
traveling through the mines of Sitran, aiding in quelling of a dangerous
rebellions. With each story Min's love for this man grew, she found in him
what she had lost in her father. It was not long before the two were married
and settled in the same hamlet she once called home, a place that allowed her
husband to still tend to the greatness of Udgaard while she tended to the
home
