Chapter 4

One thing that i would like to point out, is that the tattoos over my body, have
been calling attention of many people. They caught the attention of Lord
Korsgaard himself. Also from the Captain of the Fortress, and many other people.
But there was one special one, who i met at the Inn of the Eternal Star. He was
an old gnome, with flacid skin who curiously was floating around me and watching
every tattoo with great care. His name was Gilversplitz.

He inquired my about my tattoos, and i told him its origins, and that what they
meant, was a mystery for me as well. He said with a smile on his face: I love
mysteries. And for me, they looks like conjuration symbols. Are you trying to
conjure something? And i said: No, as i told you, i have no clue of what they
are. With a grin, he said: Now you do! And soon he uttered a word and was gone.

I've been thinking a lot about his words ever since. Are this symbols i carry a
hidden formula of conjuration? Am I meant to bring something to Thera? Or was
a formula my spirit saw when was drawn to this realm? I hope to get more clues
about that in my future.

Those times of activity of Lord Korsgaard, for sure had a meaning, I believe he
has forseen something, we mortals cannot. And he was bringing worthy recruits
to the Fortress.

In one of this days, He came to the Halls of Light, and i had the Honor to see
Him make Aehwic our Captain, once more. In dark periods, he took the most
experient Maran to lead the Brigade. Another day, after i greet him, I said I
would stay vigilant to any event, and He appeared before me. A surprise and a
Honor once again. He said: Yes, this are times to be vigilant. And he teached
me to increase my vigilance and to use my temperance to defend myself.

And finally, personal appointments would force me to take a long travel and
to be away from my duties for some time. Lord Korsgaard, was the first in my
list to inform that. I made sure I would keep dedicated to my vows when i
return. I also had a request, to start his Second Quest. He readly agreed,
and when i asked if he had any advice, he said, extract the truth from every
place you go, and start exercising your hability to lead, bring others with
you. But be sure, noone dies!

I informed my brothers and sisters from the Fortress, and i left for a long
time...

Role

Chapter 3

I noticed, Lord Korsgaard was unusually active, in the days when i decided to
once more, visit his Shrine. I arrived before the altar of the Pathfinders, and
was alone there. I lowered my haed in a meditative stance and prayed. Looking
towards the sky, I noticed the valkyries in a mosaic in the top of the shrine,
and while lost in inner toughts, a brilliant radiance crossed the space before
me, revealing the blazing immage of Lord Korsgaard.

Instinctively, I dropped to my knees. Lord Korsgaard, with a powerfull voice
extended his hand and said: "Raise Devrena". And so i did.

And this day, i opened my heart to Lord Korsgaard, and i felt no doubt, no fear
or anguish. I found inner peace and resolution. His wise words, guided me to
starting to understand what is to be a Pathfinder, and the amount of work that
was before me. Me presenting itens that i tought would be good symbols of his
greater virtues, Strength, Honor and Courage and Him, completing my teaching.
One thing that really marked me, was that Honor and respect, must be earned.

After that, He asked me to follow him, and took me to the hall of Heroes, where
the statues of the only the three Pathfinders Thera has seen so far, are. He
asked me about the Pathfinders, and them, spoke a little of them too. Finally,
he asked me what were my plans for life, and i so i spoke.

First, to earn his blessings. Second, to apply as a Squire in the Fortress and
my hopes to become a Maran, like many before me. And finally, a little awkward
i said: And i have hopes to become a Pathfinder myself, before my days are gone.

For the first time, i saw a brief smile on his face. Lord Korsgaard said: I
like your plans. And so, he reached my hand and gently clasped it. My body was
suddenly infused with an energy i have never felt before, I had his blessing
to pursue my path. But He did not stop there, he asked: Are you ready to join
the Fortress, to join the war? And i again answered: Yes. If you find me worthy.

And again, i have seen the generosity of Lord Korsgaard. He said yes, i think
you are worthy. And inducted me as a Squire. I could not believe, that all was
happening to me. All this attention from Lord Korsgaard, his blessings, his
support to become a squire. It was like a dream for me. But soon, with blinding
speed, He transported us both to the entrance of the fortress, where the cold
snow under my feet, brought me back to reality.

The dream to be beside my Lord, will have to wait. Before i, and if i earn that,
will be after a life of duty, that is now open before me. And i am sure, that my
dedication will be focused on this path and Lord Korsgaard.

Role

Chapter 2

Dedication, is a characteristic that has been with me since childhood. Whether
studying, practicing or pursuing a goal, I can say it have been a mark upon
myself. Dedication is a sphere of influence, that is ruled by Lady Ishuli. As
I visited Her library, i found inside a mummy. I found out, many of her follower
were famous vile creatures. As my code says, do not assossiate with the taint of
evil, in any way, that caused me great disconfort. I could not pray to the same
Lady that empowers and have so many evil followers.

I choosed to Dedicate myself to the Light.

Choices we make impact us all our lives. Now, it's no different, if i continued
my pursue on Lady Ishuli's blessing, I would end up in a path that would keep
frustrating me, as the taint of evil somewhat permeates her shrine. But that
decision, also brought emptiness inside me, as faith is the strongest weapon a
paladin can have.

It was time to study once more. I bent over the guild's tomes, learning the
precepts of religions and the God's teachings. I found out, many interesting
things about the Lords, but specially about Lord Korsgaard. A bastion of purity
and virtues. One who pushes his follower to greater deads, even more than can
imagine. A true challenge, a true Lord of Light. Lord Kosgaard is the one i
will dedicate my life for. I look forward a chance to prove myself to Him.

As to my flaws, while no innocent was harmed, i know i broke my code regarding
respect the laws of the land. For a mistake, tracking an anti-paladin who was
very habile taunting me, i misplaced a step and striked him in town. I was
marked as a criminal and i served my warrant in shame. Another time, i had a
very tough decision, as two commandments of the code had been put to test, I
just could not watch an bloodoath murder an innocent commoner before my eyes,
I choosed to interfere, striking another time in a protected town.

I know i have to live with the consequence of this acts, but I have hopes I
can work on my virtues and on my temperance so this events become a minor
part of my being. I hope of a path, that pursuing great virtue, can help find
my place in the world. I have hopes, to become a Pathfinder.

Chapter 1

I am twenty three years old, and I have not found myself in life yet.

That does not mean, i have not became a righteouness person. I seek to excercise
the development of my virtues, my potential to become a true inspiration to those
in need of guidance. I am very dedicated to the paladin's guild teachings, but, I
am not flawless, made mistakes and also learned a lot.

When i say i have not found myself yet, I turn back to my childhood. Upon birth,
I was touched by celestial essence, or perhaps, the spirit of an archon sent back
to the realms to a specific quest. That i may never know for sure. What i know, is
that when i was still very young, images used to cross my head. Images that i have
drawn at my skin, and they have became attached as tattoos. Today, this images no
longer cross my mind, but i have them marked within me so i may find their meaning
in the future. It is strange what children can see on theyr first few years.

Another thing i can say for sure, is that i have this feeling of nonconformity
that burns strong inside my hearth. Even if i have joined the paladin's guild, and
consider myself a dedicated follower of the code and the guild's teachings, when i
see an injustice i cannot hold myself without interfering. That have caused me
troubles that i will talk about later. But, with time i have been learning to use
and channel this feeling, towards what i call a crusade against the vile.

I seek no fame, no glory and no fortune. But i seek to be there for those in need.
For me, those in need, are the good families of Thera, the simple farmer, those
who cultivate love over hate and are always willing to help and take care of the
ones around them. They are what is pure and sacred. They must be protected, must
be defended and must be followed by their example of goodness.

In the other hand, i have have been imbued by this essence of heavenly energy, and
I believe I can endure more than the simple man can. So, i must bear this burden
without complain or second toughts. The burden is to protect them and fight the
war for them. And so, without calling attention to myself, I have started my own
personal crusade against the vile of heart. I have putted myself, and those who
seek harm to the light, to test.

But that alone, is not enough. I still feel an emptiness inside. I need to find
my place in the world, and I need a Patron Lord.
