Chapter 3

Zdrostal left the shrine of his Lord Korsgaard feeling inspired. He had the
chance to express himself and beseech his Lord for his blessings upon the
crusade. The path had merely begun. He bought before him three items that
would show the start of his Pathfinger's journey and he was eager to place
his feet upon the road. Before he left he was allowed a decision. To choose
an aspect of his faith to enhance with holy virtue and he found himself in
a moment of worship and meditation, wondering which direction he should be
focusing his faith.

For Zdrostal was all about inspiring hope in the innocents by his actions,
bringing them peace and allowing them to feel safe and secure in their own
homes. But he knew this came at a cost, a cost that demanded retribution to
the enemies of the light. It was a hard decision which must come first. It
it retribution that inspires hope? Is it hope that empowers retribution? He
thought about his days since leaving the Tahril Mountains, his path to the
Fortress and induction into the Brigade. He had felt the sting of war and
had seen the despair Thera had fallen into and he knew at once that he must
first follow the path of retribution. The need was dire.

So he chose his path of faith, hoping that one day his actions would show a
new hope to Thera. With his sword and shield at his side, his Lord behind
his prayers he felt empowered and ready to face any challenge upon the road
that lay ahead. For a Pathfinder, now is always the time to act.

Chapter 2

Zdrostal packed up his belongings with purpose, strapping an old ceremonial
shield over his back after engraving it with three runes that inspired him
upon his new crusade. Strength. Courage. Honor. He would carry this shield
on him always, as a reminder of his new pledge and a symbol of hope for the
innocents and a promise of retribution for the wicked. As be beings his new
crusade in Thera, it is important to note the following:

1) Zdrostal was born under the sphere of strength and he personifies it not
just in his own actions and enduring spirit but has a gift in seeing it in
others. He has a passion for helping others bring out the strength he sees
in them and helping them along their own path. He inspires hope through his
ability to lead and burdens the duties of leadership well.

2) He is plagued by his inaction in the past. He was a watcher upon the top
of the Tahril, protecting pilgrims that came to see the storm. After dark
news reached him and he saw the rebirth of an ancient evil he wonders if he
could have done anything to stop it. This train of thought brought a change
in his beliefs, he now believes he must walk the path, not just guard it. A
belief that will lead him to worship the Lord Korsgaard to portray the ways
of the Pathfinder with strength, courage and honor.

3) While he has an orderly soul, the code of paladins comes before the law
of the Blood Tribunal. He sees the Blood Tribunal currently as failed and
fallen, as it did not protect the people of Thera when they needed it most.
He will pursue enemies into the city grounds if he is confident he can find
closure in that particular hunt and no innocents are harmed. If he becomes
warranted by the law, he would take his own life instead of bringing risk
to the innocents.

4) He will seek out a place in the Fortress of the Light. Taking his faith
and his gifts of refining strength to a place where he believes he can make
the most difference. He also believes this war can not be won alone. Strike
swift and true for in a long war, the innocents never prosper. He has found
great comfort in the two sides of the Fortress, even dedicating his own way
of fighting with sword and shield to better encompass all paths within.

Chapter 1

The Tahril Mountains was a peaceful place where storm born giants ventured
in a holy pilgrimage to the eye of the storm. They found faith here, in the
contemplations of their creation. It was the storm after all, that woke the
gentle giants from their slumbers. While many giants ventured to and from
this holy place, there was a select few who remained to watch and to guard
the pilgrims that would venture to the Tahril Mountains in times of need.

Zdrostal was one of these watchers. From up high he stood firm and strong
with his faith and his shield, guarding the vulnerable as they expressed an
interest in their own belief. But as the age grew dark, the pilgrims became
rare, those that made it appeared haggard and burdened by dark news of the
New Order lead by an undead Provost who had banished those who walk in the
Light from serving the people of Thera. He was greatly troubled by the news
the people brought from the lands below and his persistent worry began to
erode his faith, like the sea claiming the towering cliffs above.

He ventured to the highest pinnacle of the Tahril Mountains and began a new
contemplation. What if he left this place? What if the inaction of people
like him was the cause of this perversion of hope. Surely he had a purpose
here, protecting the path from those who would need him. A sudden flash in
the desert below broke him from his meditations. He squinted his eyes as he
witnessed the scene before him. Flocks of Ccul'gra swarmed the Araile below
as a palatable darkness took root in the ancient Chasm of the Scions. Vile
nausea took hold of Zdrostal and something within him was also born in this
moment of darkness. Call it faith. Call it strength.

Or perhaps call it the determination not just to guard the path but to walk
it, and restore hope to the innocent and bring retribution upon the enemies
of the Light.
