Chapter 7

It was very clear that I started this orc for fun, but I was underprepared
I did have a ton of fun, as Orc is my favorite roleplay.
As my first serious whack at a charcter after years away, though,
it was obviousl not a great choice for success.
Fun was had, but the ride is over.

Chapter 6

Now that Vokrem felt a little more comfortable running about the lands,
his chest puffed with pride and his heart grew with courage. Now was the
time to grow strong and prove his value to The Clan.

It wasn't long before young Vok first met Chieften Worthag traveling
about the lands. The chief was a smart leader. Wort, as they called him,
knew that he would need a new warlord by his side if he wanted to keep
The Clan strong, so he decided to help our little orcling in the way of a
new axe and some trinkets.

"Vok thank." Vokrem said, envoking his enormous vocabulary. "Vok grow now
and make Da Clan proud!"

With a bloodthirsty sparkle in his eye, and his new axe in his gigantic
fist, Vok set forth hacking and smashing everything he thought wouldn't
rip him limb from limb. What a glorious time it was.

It wasn't long before Vokrem found himself in a sticky situation. One day
he was strolling out of the Grinnin Skull Village, on his way for a
little afternoon elf-pillage, when right along the path was the nastiest
Dwarven Patroller he'd ever seen. Vok, by now, was a brave soul, but
fighting that war-grizzled dwarf would have been suicide. Having traveled
with some Imperials before, Vok found a strong one and hoped he would be
willing to help.

"Greets. Vok be friend o da Emper...Vok is in truble. Kowe help?" Vok
pleaded desperately to Kowelu the Innperial Shadow Ward.

"I don't care who you're friends with. I'll help. I like helping orcs."
Kowelu responded.

Vokrem smacked himself on the forehead. What a dummy! He heard of the
Imperial Shadow Lord, but this man was the INNperial Shadow Ward! He
wasn't from the Empire at all!

In no time at all a giant Orangutan came bounding through the mountains
and lept right ontop of the Dwarven Patroller, tearing him limb from
limb.

Vokrem and Kowelu shared a good laugh about the blood that had been shed
and they sat a talked.

"You know, Vokrem, I am a good friend of Worthag's. We grew together. Now
I like to help The Orcs." Kowelu told young Vok.

"Dis gud." Vok replied. It was good to know he would have a friend
looking out for him in the troubling times to come.

Chapter 5

Hacking and slashing about the elven forest of Arendyl quickly became one
of Vokrem's favorite pass-times. After a long day of pillaging the frail
and helpless elves of the Vale, Vokrem decided it was time for an Ale at
The Inn.

Standing slack-jawed at the doorway, Vokrem looked around at the crowd
crammed into The Inn, unlike anything he had seen before. Elves,
Half-Elves, Dwarves, Half-Drows (including who people had told Vokrem was
"The Emperor of Thera"), and a load of zombies, golems, and ghouls. Even
The Prince of Fools, Raltevio decided to show.

This certainly was no typical preceding. Vok had found himself upon The
Correnation of Gaspare, the new Emperor of Thera. Vokrem was hesitant to
take part of such fancy affairs, with such odd people, but was coaxed in
by the smell of all sorts of gourmet offerings.

Caecilius, the Shadow Lord, seemed to be the official operator of the
event, and kicked it off with a speech. Having no clue what the man was
talking about, Vokrem's eyes glazed over as the words passed from one ear
to the next. Next, Caecilius lead everyone to the corner where there were
3 statues and one painting to honor the new Emperor.

Knodeet, the sculpter went on and on in great detail about each of the
three sculptures he had carved to honor the new Emperor. With each
passing word Vokrem's eye began to droop more and more with boredom. He
was sure this was all very important, but the symbolism was quite over
his head so Vok decided it would be best to fake it.

Squinting his eyes and nodding thoughtfully with each passing verse of
description, Vok politely pretended to understand and appreciate this
high-art he was being exposed to. When the showing of the sculptures was
complete, the party moved back to the bar for drinks and the presenting
of a 13 course meal by Pudgan to honor Gaspare.

Course after course, culinary horror-shows were appearing from the back
room for the Emperor's "enjoyment." Passable for Vokrem, these dishes
were well beyond what most Therans would have considered edible. This was
great news for Vokrem, as it gave him chance to be noticed for his great
talents.

The Emperor was looking for a taste tester for these horrific dishes.
Wanting to please The Emperor, nearly everyone volunteered. Knowing the
true talents that lie with an Orc, Gaspare chose Vokrem.

Dish after dish, Gaspare grinned at the evil sense of the meals, but
declined to actually consume most of them, passing them off to who-ever
was willing, and to Vokrem for those which had no volunteer. The faces of
the party goers turned to obvious disgust as Vokrem gobbled down a bowl
of Elf "oysters."

When the party was over the Emperor thanked Vok for his help in
consuming, and showed his thanks by giving Vokrem a Mace of Water.

This strange party seemed to have been worth it after all.

Chapter 4

I don't always have the time or inspiration to write roles, but I've got
the ideas goin in my head to go along with the timeline. Sorry if my
submitting doesn't quite match up with my character's actual timeline.
Like say, for instance, submitting a role about how I first learned the
cities of the world when I'm level 46.

Chapter 3

It wasn't long before our little Orcling followed the signs and found
himself upon "The Academy."

"Dis weird place." Vokrem thought to himself peering around the hallowed
halls before him.

"Where da muck in da ground if Vok get thirsty?" He said to the attendant
who was busy welcoming young students to The Academy.

"There are several fountains that can be found here. Feel free to drink
from them." She replied quite politely, but unable to hold back a
disgusted grimace at the thought.

This idea of clean drinking water was a completely new concept to our
young brute, but one he supposed he would just have to get used to.

After some time smashing this thing and that, Vokrem came upon a man
named Simon who needed a favor. Feeling quite lost in this place, Vokrem
took this as an opportunity to learn the lay of the land a bit, so he
accepted.

Errand after errand after errand it went on and on.

"Damn dis. Why Vok had tuh get himself into dis mess." Vokrem thought as
he began to grow tired and angry of this endless task.

Finally after countless journeys through Galadon, Hamsah, Arkham,
Volarian City, Tir Talath, and even the Halfling Lands Vok handed over
the last errand and the recipient asked nothing more of him. He was free
at last!

"Now can find more stuff fer da bashin!" Vok said to himself as an evil
grin grew on him from ear to ear. Happy to be through with this chore,
Vok knew in his heart that this task had given him an invaluable look
around the world which would soon be coming in handy as his travels about
Thera begun. This new confidence brought Vokrem a great sense of pride
and the courage to move forward to whatever would be coming next.

Chapter 2

Ahhh...the story of Vokrem The Couragous...where do we even start. I
suppose we'll start where things start best: the beginning.

Our young hero Vokrem (Vok for short), grew up with a single father and
no siblings. Vok was the first (and last) born of his family, as his
mother passed in the process of birthing him. His father, the village
drunken pig farmer, never quite forgave Vok for the clearly malicious
role he had in his mother's death.

Vok was never the brightest of the village whelps, he often got teased
for getting lost even within the confines of the village, but the teasing
stopped when Vokrem found his larger than average fists easily turned his
brethren's toothy smiles and laughter a little less toothy and a lot less
laughy.

After the second time Vokrem delivered a beating to another youngling of
the village he returned home quite happy with himself, but his father
didn't seem to share in his pride. Drunker than usual and jealous of
Vok's victories, his father challenged the now adolescent Vokrem to an
arm wrestling match. Orcish cowardly instincts would tell Vok to back
down from a challenge from such an elder, but a strange sense of courage
and a desire to put the old drunk in his place had Vok eagerly pulling up
a chair to accept.

*SLAM* the drunk old orc's hand hit the table, only moments after
grasping with the oddly massive palm of Vokrem's.

"Hah pops. Yuh drunk couldn't beat 'little Vok?'" Vokrem mocked his
father.

Distracted by the after-glow of victory, Vokrem failed to see his
father's rage building up as he grabbed his butchering cleaver and
started flailing it wildly towards him.

*SLICE* The butcher's knife caught Vokrem across the right cheek and
through the bridge of his nose and the repugnant stench of orc blood
filled the room.

*SMASH* Without thought Vokrem's fist collided with the old drunk's face,
knocking him out cold and bringing him to the floor in mere moments.

"Vok nuh need dis! Yuz small! Yuz weak! Vok lead his own life now!"
Vokrem shouted at his unconcious father on the floor.

It was then that our young Vokrem decided to gather all of his courage
and escape into the world. No longer would the village protect him from
the dangers of the world. After all, nothing could be as bad as living
with the old drunk just one more day. He would have to be brave (to a
point), but it would be an adventure!

Role

Chapter 1

As I haven't played in over 8 years, and even then I was quite a newb I
have pretty modest goals for Vokrem. I likely have no business playing
such a hated/dangerous class right now but I've loved Orcs in the past.

I'd mostly just like to play around with the ironic duality of being an
orc with sphere "Courage." Should be a fun mentality: "Hey I may run away
when things get too dicey but I am challenging myself to go out there and
face my fears to begin with."

If time and convenience permits I may seek the arms of the Lucky Lord,
Whiysdan.
