Chapter 2

Having procured Lord Ergush's blessing, and completed his first task -
Caelferous has set upon his journey to understand Nature's Law. As much
as these things seemed like they would be self evident to him, he
discovered quickly that there are many nuances to the Law, that require
careful observation and clarity of thought. Studying the shamanic school
of revelation has proven to be more interesting than he originally
thought it might be, and after seeing his lord cast the bones in a rite
of fortune telling and reading the omens as he had - Caelferous decided
that he would also pursue a path as a diviner of sorts. He seeks to
learn the art from Lord Ergush during his studies within the copse.

Tasked with studying the lesser virtue of Pride, he has set out to
procure three objects which represent this for himself, his friend, and
his enemy. He has also begun to study various ingredients coming from
the land which have properties he might use later in some sort of
poisonous concoction against his foes. He is keen to explore, learn the
secrets of the land and hone his instincts.

He has also spoken with an Elf of the Fortress, who seems to have some
history with the Outlanders and the return of Thar-Eris. Posatalis the
elf spoke with him about some dreams he has had that seem to suggest
something may soon happen within the land that may involve both the
Fortress, and the Refuge. Caelferous wondered if perhaps an Ancient were
speaking to the elf through the Primeval Dream. He seeks to speak with
Ergush about the matter, and perhaps learn to throw the bones himself to
divine the nature of this encounter for the elf.

Role

Chapter 1

Caelferous grew up an orphan, never knowing his mother or father. It is
a miracle he managed to survive his first few years at all. As a young
child, at the tender age of only a year old he was cast adrift in a small
barrel on the Sea of Despair. Noone knows, including Caelferous, what
circumstances caused his parrents to abandon him. Perhaps they were
traveling as a family on a ship across the Sea, and the ship was sunk
during the terrible storm which Caelferous survived in his barrel.
Perhaps he was unwanted, unloved and set adrift. The only thing he knows
for sure is that he was found on the eastern shore by an old hermit a day
or two after the great storm and by some miracle of luck he managed to
survive the sea's within that barrel, wrapped only in a knit blanket.
Clearly, the god's had a greater plan for him. The old hermit was
hesitant to take him in at first, but decided that baby or not, some
company was good for him in his rugged and lonesome lifestyle. He lived
off the land, and with little more than he absolutely needed to be
comfortable. And so, Caelferous was raised the same way. At an early
age he learned to hunt, to build a shelter, to start fire from flint and
stone. He was more or less self sufficient by 11 years old.

The old hermit grew fond of Caelferous and despite his distaste for most
other people and seclusion from society, was a kind and gentle man.
Caelferous was quite fond of him, and knew him only as his father. As
Caelferous hit his late teens, the old hermit grew quite ill. He knew
his time was soon at an end and told Caelferous how he had found him when
he was a babe. How he had somehow survived the great Storm on the sea in
a barrel, and that he was not his real father. Caelferous was saddened
by the news, but thought of the old hermit as his father in any case, and
resolved he would not try to find his real parents. When the hermit
finally passed, Caelferous buried his body in their encampment, and
prayed that it would return to the land and the cycle of life would begin
again.

After this, Caelferous wandered and lived off the land, until meeting a
priest of Ergush. A child of the Storm himself, he took quickly to his
sermon, and decided to seek out Lord Ergush for himself. Fascinated by
nature's raw power, he asked Lord Ergush to take him on as a student to
learn Nature's Laws. He had also heard of a great Tree, where
free-people lived in harmony with the land. The Outlanders they were
called, and he sought out their Sunwarden, and joined them as a Warder.
