Chapter 4

Oniflond's entire understanding of women is skewed due to his unique
upbringing. Raised at a whorehouse, he saw women used and abused,
debasing themselves so that the men who ran the house could profit.

His opinion of femininity was not aided by his time with the merchant,
When forced to wear female clothing, makeup, wear his hair long, and
answer to "Girl" or "Girly-boy" was a daily routine for him, it became
ingrained - so long as he was forced to be feminine, he was also weak.

Ergo, he foolishly assumed, all women were weak and useless. Only there
to provide pleasure to men.

Luckily for him, shortly after entering the Academy he witnessed a female
fighter roll through several foes at once, without a scratch upon her.

While this did not necessarily temper his misogynistic views, it did lend
him the caution to keep such views to himself, for the most part.

After all, cowering and staying out of trouble had come to be his default
behavior.

Chapter 3

Oniflond was smart enough to gather enough of the merchant's things
to sell for passage to the Academy in Galadon. Once there, he read
about all of the cabals of Thera and quickly realized the Empire must
have been responsible for his freedom. He came to view them as a
twisted version of the tales of the Fortress - saving innocents from
terrible fates. He quickly learned, though, that the Imperials were
not the sort to do such a thing for the innocent. Nor for free.

This suited him just fine.

"Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money," Oniflond had heard
the merchant say on occasion. It had seemed stupid to Oniflond at
the time. But after scraping and saving to get the coin together to
pay the Imperial Recruiter and take the Oath, he understood.

The true currency in this land is power. And enough coin can buy it,
if you're smart enough to spend it the right way.

Chapter 2

The son of a whore and some unknown father, Oniflond was about
10 years old when the whorehouse sold him to a merchant with a
penchant for young boys. This particular man particularly enjoyed
emasculating the boys - dressing them up as females to serve...
and service...him. Oniflond's fair features did him no favors in
this environment, of course. Treated as female while forced to endure
the predations of a fat, wealthy bastard for years, whatever Light his
soul might have had was extinguished completely.

Oniflond was granted a reprieve from his hellish existence by the Empire.
Having been too cowardly himself to try to murder his merchant master and
secure his own freedom, black-armored men came knocking. They demanded
the merchant and, once he appeared, sliced his head from his body.

"That is the price you pay when you miss your taxes."

Oniflond did not know who the men were, but knew his moment to escape
had arrived.

Role

Chapter 1

This is a summary of various parts of Oniflond's character. For the reasons
behind each of these, please read on to further role chapters.

1. Abject coward unless odds favor him. Oniflond will likely keep to the
shadows and not risk himself against foes unless he feels confident in victory.
He may, however, do things that are outside his normal comfort zone in attempts
to impress those placed above him - Imperial superiors or the Gods above.

2. Misogynist. Oniflond thinks of women as the 'weaker sex' and generally not
worthy of his time. He may choose to strike at female targets (orphans,
shopkeepers) prior to male ones, all else being equal. He is either wise
enough or cowardly enough to keep these feelings to himself around anyone
who might reveal his misogyny to the wrong people, however.

3. Greedy. Money breeds power, and with more power comes more money. And both
of these things lead to greater safety, in general.

4. Imperial. Oniflond joined the Empire for reasons of power and safety. He saw
first-hand that the Empire was a place where he could come to power, if he had
the coin. And coin, when he had the power.
