Amaranda Des Chartres the Adherent of the Glade, Acolyte of the Golden Sun

Chapter 1

While exploring a swamp named Ysigrath, Amaranda ran into a
young half-elf named Caradoc. They instantly formed a deep bond
of friendship and began spending a great deal of time together.
Never having found a true connection with anyone before, Amaranda
quickly found herself in deeply love with him. She quickly devoted
herself to him, caring about him with something akin to worship.
He was a young member of the Fortress of Light, and he asked her
to join it with him. Feeling that she could keep him safer and be
nearer to him if she joined, she petitioned and was accepted as one
of the Scribes. From there, she quickly found herself accepted into
a very unique family of the Light. She met several worshippers of
Innis, Cytherea, Sessha, and Talianna, each of whom she developed
a strong friendship with. She met a young elven knight named
Solasarath, and she looked at him as a friend, and the epitome of
everything good the Maran should stand for. She found an elven
invoker named Kiel, who shared the same spark for the elements
as she, and took great comfort in his kindred spirit. The Lords of
the Fortress saw her devotion to this motley family, and granted
her the powers of the Acolytes so that she could care for them better.
While chatting with Cytherea one day, Cytherea asked about her
feelings for Caradoc, and Amaranda admitted that she loved him,
but that they were destined not to be together as Caradoc had
devoted himself to the Fortress, and sworn never to be distracted
from his duty. Amaranda was a bit miffed at this, but Cytherea
wisely pointed out that even if they were not truly together, she
still could be near him, and that nothing was lost when that was
the case. Cytherea had, sadly, just lost her love. Amaranda realized
the solid wisdom in this, and decided to confess her feelings to
Caradoc, as she did not wish to have regrets with how she dealt
with him. She told him the next day, and was amazed to find that
he also loved her. Even though his vows kept them from being
together, she was secure in the knowledge.

Role

Chapter 2

Amaranda was born to a very young couple in Arial City. Not
wanting the child, or knowing what to do with her, they recklessly
decided to abandon her in hopes that a good family would take
her in. They traveled far from their home, and left her in the
Center Plaza of Seantryn Modan, propped up on the fountain.
Many people walked past the little girl, and as time passed she
grew hungry and started fussing. A farmer traveling down the
road heard her cries and came to see what was the matter with
her. He saw a small note on her that crudely read: Looking for
a good home. The adorable green and gold arial child sparked
something in him, and he decided to take her home with him,
feed her and then find an orphanage for her. He brought her back
to his family, and his children were thrilled with the idea of
having such a cute little plaything among them. They built her a
small nest on their floor, fed her, and played with her.
The next day, the farmer looked for an orphanage, but could not
find one in the Seantryn Modan area. Going home after work,
he found Amaranda curled up asleep in her little nest. His children
told him how much fun they had had that day playing with her,
and the farmer decided to keep her and help her, at least until
she could find her own way in the world.
While never a true part of the family, Amaranda grew up with
shelter and food, good friends with the children of the farmer.
Her personality was bright and cheerful, and she was always
grateful for what little she had out of life. As soon as she was
old enough, she began working for the farmer to earn her keep.
She worked in his shop, entertained his customers, and ran
deliveries for him. He taught her a simple cold spell he had
learned, and taught her to make the ice cream that was a
specialty of his shop.
Often, in her free time, Amaranda would wander outside the City.
She would sit by the banks of the Western Aryth and gaze over the
waves lapping at the shore. She was fascinated by the elements
and enthralled by the cosmic energy she felt in them. She learned
to tune herself with them, work with them a bit, and found she
had a talent for elemental magics. She would find herself creating
bits at first, a flame to dance across her talons, a few drops of
water to put it out. Eventually, she went to the Tower of Sorcery
in Seantryn Modan, and offered to work for the guildmaster there
if he would teach her more. He sent her on jobs that took her off
the continent, and she quickly found herself immersed in a world
larger than her imagination. As she learned more about magic,
she found her niche in using it to help people and better their lives.
She went to many villages, using water magics to bring them clean
wells. Rather than using her magic for destruction, she focused on
creation and exploration. She used the power of air to help people
build their villages and cities, and used fire to help cleanse the earth.
Certain magics, she found, would help the earth respond better to
plantings of crops. She wandered more, helping where she could,
and finding contentment in her abilities.
