Chapter 7

When Ardish had reached 31 lessons within his druids guild, he went to
the guildmaster to learn something new and was told he needed
further empowerment from the Glacial Lord. Ardish knew it was time
to seek the lord out in his shrine to report back on his quest. The Glacial
Lord was busy with other matters for an elven week, but Ardish is patient
like the glacier itself. He was rewarded one day when Lord Deormdel was
visible for the whole world to see. Ardish traveled to the frozen north and
soon was speaking with the Glacial Lord. The Glacial Lord seems pleased that
he had spoken to five. The Glacial Lord asked Ardish why he thought he was
sent on this quest and Ardish did not have the right answer. Ardish knew
what the Lord told him next but he was unable to speak it. Balance and honesty
are for each to discover and for each to show the world. Balance and honesty
comes in many different forms and many different shapes. It is for each of us
to find our own balance and to show our own honesty through actions and words.
Both actions and words are needed and one is no good without the other.

Ardish was given the full empowerment by the Glacial Lord and told to go
and show the world his balance and his honesty. Ardish learned that he
will never stop learning. The process of balance and honesty are lifelong pursuits
and that the journey never ends.

Chapter 6

Ardish set out on the quest his lord set him on have balance and honest
discussions with two others. Ardish was never one to settle for the minimum
so in the end he spoke with five. Two of them were quite memorable and taught
him a lot. Golthazar is a duergar warrior of some renown who is the current War
Master of Empire. Ardish had never envisioned have to sit down and converse with
a duergar that stands for tyranny and oppression, but Ardish was quick to learn
that balance and honesty are personal things that mean different things to different
people. Golthazar taught him that we must be honest about who we are and that
through combat we learn the truth. Additionally, he taught Ardish that we
all have different things to balance in life. He is the balancing force against chaos
and the light, while I am the balancing force against civilization.

While Ardish also spoke with a ranger, a thief, and a duergar warrior in battle, it was
the elf paladin Tenyajn that stuck with him. Like Golthazar, Tenyajn had the mark
of the Glacial Lord. For Tenyajn balance was much more personal than being
the balancing force against evil, order, chaos, or the like. Tenyajns sought
to balance himself. To always be better and bring more balance to others
and turn others away from the darkness and toward the light. To bring truth
and honesty to the himself and the world. He sought to show the world
his honesty and balance.

Chapter 5

Having heard about the Glacial Lord, Ardish set out to find his
place of worship. Ardish knew the Lord has a Cloud Giant so his
initial search was in the mountains west and north of Udgaard.
He found paladins, yetis, and cloud giants but no shrine to Lord
Deormdel. He headed back down the mountain and decided to wander
south toward the skeletons. On the initial trail to Mount Caladryl,
Ardish notice a frozen cave to the west and immediately knew
he had found it. His was taken aback by the honesty of the glacier.
Everything about the shrine seems to invoke honest discussions.
While he did not reach the Glacial Lord on the first try, he returned
twice and spoke with him on his third try praying. While Ardishs initial
discussions with Lord Deormdel were brief, he did manage to get
the lord to be his patron and felt the freezing touch of nature flow through
him. Ardish was tasked with speaking with two others that worship the
Lord.

Chapter 4

Ardish had a brief discussion very early in life with Horner. Horner
told him about the Outlanders of Thar-Eris. A lose band of free spirits
agreeing on Thar-Eris and the return of the ancients. That is about all
they agree on. Horner indicated he was the Harbinger of the Outlanders.
Horner indicated if he was interested he should pledge to the Outlanders
at the great tree in the dark forest to the north of arkham. Next he indicated
I should seek out three rocks around Thar-Eris that told the history and the
story of the outlanders.

When Ardish had 15 lessons with his guild, he found this impressive tree in
the middle of the forest and pledged to the Outlanders and the Ancients.
Ardish then sought out to find the three rocks and learn what he thought
his role would be within the tree. The first rock was found in the Ashes of Nowhere
west of the Wealds. The second rock was found in a forest south of the great road
and the third rock was found on the north end of the Prosimy Forest. All three
told the story of the burning and ending of the Slyvan Warders, the bleak days
of nothing protecting Thar-Eris, and the forming of the Outlanders by the Ancients
culminating with the reavers branch joining the wardens and the sentinels.

After seeing the visions and learning the story from the three rocks,
Ardish knew he had to continue to bring honesty and balance to the tree.
The tree needs the wardens to protect the tree and give it life. The tree needs
reavers to destroy civilization and bring the death required to cull the weeds
for Thar-Eris to grow. Ardish though was a sentinel that needed the strength
and balance to keep the tree together and recognize the need for all
branches. The honest truth was a lot of these outlanders did not like each other
and it was going to take lots of balance to keep the tree together and have
Thar-Eris grow.

Chapter 3

Ardish struggled knowing his brother was dead and failed to find the balance he had
previously in life. In between teaching him the very basics of the ways of a druid,
Bfendar told Ardish about how combat can be a balance factor in not only his life
but in the world. Ardish learned about the cycles of nature and how honest combat
can be used to keep Thar-Eris in balance. He learned about the balance between life
and death. More importantly he learned the role that a druid can play in balancing
these forces through combat. Ardish learned the importance that celebrating the
balance of battle. To never defile the combat with complaints for both sides would
do whatever it took to win.

Ardish decided he sought to balance the ways of civilization and the wilds. He has
seen enough of the cities, enough of the lies. Ardish liked the honesty of the wilds
and he decided to dedicate his life to being the balance factor against civilization.
Ardish had to be honest with himself that civilization would not change. It would
always be a corrupt, oppressive society that used lies and deceit.

Chapter 2

Ardish fled into the nearby forest to the north. The forest he knew well. Eltor had
given him strict instructions. Make his way to the Aryth Ocean and there would be a
boat to take him to Arkham. There would be a small gnome there to aid him. Ardish
started making his way through the light forest, but the two Seantryn palace guards
where starting to catch up. Finally, Ardish saw the boat and a small frail looking
long haired gnome. The guards however had caught up as well and there appeared
no way Ardish and the gnome would escape. Ardish had given up all hope when the
gnome started saying a prayer and the two guards suddenly had thorny plants
all around their legs. Next thing Ardish knew the nearby tree came to life and fought
as a treant against the two guards. The gnome continued to say prayers and fireseeds
were thrown from the gnome to the guards. After several of these fireseed communes
the guards lay dead at their feet. The gnome and Ardish quickly fled on the boat on
their way to Arkham.

The gnome was fairly quiet on the initial part of the trip. Ardish watched as the gnome
used herbs to heal his wounds and aid in his resting. Ardish learned the gnome was
named Bfendar and he was a druid. Ardish learned a druid was a priest of nature and
had once met Eltor. Bfendar owed Eltor for his life and this was his repayment. For
Eltor knew of Ardishs passion for nature. Bfendar had agreed to take on Ardish as a
student and teach him the ways of a druid. Furthermore, they changed his appearance
as best they could so few would ever be able to recognize him. They hoped.

Chapter 1

Ardish grew up on the southern continent in the city of Seantryn Modan.
He was born with an identical twin brother, Ardive. The two boys were
always together. Ardive and Ardish provided the balance that each of
them needed in life. They were exact opposites of one another, but
there was something between them that each of the other needed.
Ardish was the one that disliked living in the palace though. He
preferred nature and was often sneaking out of the palace to the nearby
forest to breathe the fresh air and live out under the stars. Ardive though
was born first, the prodigal son, heir to the palace when the Empress stepped
down or died.

All was not as it seems though within the palace though. The invoker advisor
was the younger brother of the Empress and he had designs on the palace itself.
The plan he put into action, started by first poisoning the mind of the Empress.
He convinced the Empress that the twins were plotting to kill her. This took years
of planning. Years of lies and deceit. The full plan was to get the Empress to kill the
twins and then plot to overthrow the Empress herself once all the heirs were out of
the way. The initial part of the Advisors plan might have worked if not for the Priest
of the King, Eltor. Eltor uncovered the plans of the Invoker Advisor but only manage
to only get Ardish out of town before Ardive and Eltor himself was murdered.
