Chapter 4

It has been years since the horn of fate was sounded
and the dismantling of the Nexun Island. Following
a few meetings with the Master Mage of the High Tower,
Koelegh has taken up a role to recruit mages of all
walks of life to join the High Tower in hopes they
would bring back the results of their journies and studies
to further preserve magic in the lands.

Following the recruitment of the initial cohort, Koelegh
took a long trip back to Hillcrest to meet with his family
so that they might discuss his travels, accomplishments
and his failures. It came as no surprise that the horn
was heard in every reach of the lands, including Hillcrest.

Koelegh reported on the continued wanton violence from the
village and his new role as Adjunct Member to the Tower.
He also spoke of the scrolls he transcribed from the Isle
in an effort to preserve the knowledge of past keepers
and the lessons they learned throughout their travels.
The discussed at length the meaning behind the dismantling
of the Isle, and how the Gods must recognize the balance
of the lands to naturally stay at equilibrium.

The direction he received from the council of Hillcrest
was fairly straightforward: Return to the populated areas
of Thera and take further action to preserve the state
of magic to ensure it has ample opportunity to manifest.

Chapter 3

Through numerous conversations with travelers of all walks life
Koelegh's knowledge of the lands, the races within, and their
perceptions has vastly increased. In discussions with pledges of
the Isle, he has learned that many people see balance differently,
yet their definitions, at the root, is the same. The preservation
of the lands, as it is and naturally evolves, is what he strives
to protect.

In efforts to ensure the keepers mission is endured by others, and
to ensure the Isle grows in strength both while he rests and beyond
his final rest, Koelegh has set out to accomplish three goals:

1) Ensure all newly inducted Keepers are assigned a mentor. The goal
of this endeavor is to ensure keepers collaborate in their growth,
to instill comraderie, and to provide guidance to each other as
as their travels bring about various trials and tribulations.

2) To keep a written record of all Keepers past and present. This,
Koelegh believes, will help to instill a sense of timelessness to
the service provided by the keepers. To become part of something
greater and everlasting will hopefully provide the motivation and
the will to act at all times, guided by the Key.

3) To leave a symbol representing the vision Koelegh had during
his slumber. The missive has been sent to Lord Deormdel but no reply
has since been received. Koelegh slowly grows worried that he has
angered the Patron Lord of the Isle and will seek an audience with
the Lord soon.

Chapter 2

Years have passed by and Koelegh has been nominated to serve as
the Nexus Meter of Mind for a third time. As time passes along
he has had the pleasure and honor of serving next to several
keepers of various race, profession, and background.

To Koelegh, it still seems like just days prior that he was joining
the Isle based on guidance from his parents. He has sent numerous
letters to Hillcrest explaining his findings and once traveled
home to more formally present the state of affairs as he has observed
them. Most of the reports included supporting facts that the hatred
of magic did indeed exist, though it ebbs and flows based on many
factors. He has seen many lead the village and even many more
demonstrate their immense hatred for the magics. Azure-touched,
duergar, dwarf, minotaur and even wood-elf, they all seemed to
be capable of hate.

Koelegh has come to learn that all walks of life, like forces in the
lands, serve a purpose. All walks of life are capable of hate and
love, even if it be in their own way. To this end, Koelegh continues
to take a more passive role in maintaining the balance. He believes
this method will allow the true intent of others to be revealed.

The keepers that have served by his side and elected him to the
position of Meter have shown confidence from what he can tell. His
most frightful thought is that he will not be able to take
successful action when it is necessary, as he has instructed them to do.

Chapter 1

Koelegh Sprywhistle was born to a family just outside of Hillcrest.
His mother, Kadilyn, and his father, Yoelegh, studied invocation magic
and were active members of the Hillcrest Invokers guild. Koelegh is the
first and only child born to Kadilyn and Yoelegh.

The Sprywhistle's were known to monitor the happenings of Thera outside
of Hillcrest. They were also known to be the first to consider
the likes of conspiracy theory, worldly doom, and various other less-
than-proven ideas. The family planned their only child meticulously
to ensure he was born under the sign of Magic.

During the fall harvest season of the year Koelegh was to demonstrate
for the guild his mastery over the elements, news of unbridled rage
and wanton disregard for the Magical balance of the lands came
from a traveling merchant. Kadilyn and Yoelegh, now too old to venture
much farther than Udgaard, send their only son Koelegh to investigate
and take up arms, if necessary, against the threat.

Koelegh traveled south and registered with the Galadonian guild of
Invocation and quickly became attuned to the Nexus, following the
direction of his parents.
