Chapter 5

After further deterioration of Imperial influence, Darvoderis begins
inquiries with other members of the council on how they feel about how the
Empire is fairing, and finds frustration among them as well. Darvoderis'
main concern at this point is not ending up with a vote that ends up with all
of them anathemad.


Darvoderis has struggled to maintain his composure recently, but with the
vote called, at least a personal truce with the spire, and knowing he is
nearing the end of his life, has found some degree of comfort in the things
he has accomplished.

Chapter 4

Darvoderis has risen to become the High Priest and earned the mark of his
lord. His choice for Emperor has risen to take the throne to replace a
leader who had become somewhat negligent and erratic in his decisions and
actions. Additionally, Darvoderis deadliest foes have passed from the
realm., so it would seem life could not be better for the High Priest.

However, Darvoderis feels like the Empire is entering its period of greatest
crisis during his lifetime. Instead of trying to maneuver to focus efforts
on the greatest foes of the Empire, the new Emperor has chosen to declare war
on the rest of the realm. Darvoderis questions the wisdom of this since the
Empire does not have the number to win the multiple wars, and much of the
time is only able to regain the codex with the aid of the Tribunals, who the
Empire is now technically at war with. Additionally, the new Emperor has
made interpretations of the Imperial law the Darvoderis considers
questionable, or at the least damaging to the reputation of the Empire as a
force for order overall.

However, without a full council, a recent vote,
and doubting he would gain support from the other members of the council for
any action, Darvoderis is resigned to wait out this period of chaos within
the realm until the death of the Emperor with hope the next to rise will
exercise better judgment.

Chapter 3

After a few obstacles, Darvoderis has risen to become a full priest of the
Empire and has obtained the full use of the initial gifts his lord has
bestowed upon him. The possibility still exists that he may rise to High
Priest, but Darvoderis realizes for now he must attend to the duties before
him and if his place in life is as High Priest, it will be granted when he is
deserving.

The tide seems to be turning in the favor of the Empire. Although numbers
have not risen significantly, the Empire is at least typically able to defend
the codex and shows signs of being able to resume operations of conquest even
without the Emperor present.

Darvoderis has been tasked by the Emperor to look into establishing an
orphanage which would serve to instruct and enlighten its residents in the
ways of order and civilization as an alternative to the one on Balator which
mainly serves to provide fodder to the fortress. This meshes well with tasks
given to Davoderis on reflections of his past by his Lord, so he expects to
secure his blessing in this endeavor.

Darvoderis is concerned of some of the activities in the Black Sect.
Infighting amongst them seems to be intensifying as they fight to see who
will rise as Dread Lord. Darvoderis went as far as demoting one member of
the black sect who was purposefully disrupting the progress of elder
Imperials and most likely trying to put their lives at risk by recruiting
additional storm giants to fight against them.

Darvoderis is also beginning to sense there may be some dark rituals
afoot amongst the blacks that may not be entirely in accordance with
Imperial law, and is starting to watch more closely for what may be betrayal
from their ranks. (note: this is a secret for now which Darvoderis does not
intend to mention to anyone until he knows more)

Chapter 2

Securing the initial blessings of his god, Darvoderis takes his initial steps
in finding his place amongst the Empire to spread the teaching of his lord
and to spread Order through Thera. He is focused on setting the initial
tasks given to him by his Lord, but he is also concerned about the lack of
influence the Empire has when The Emperor is not awake.The Village of the
Battleragers seems to be the biggest obstacle to progress at the moment, so
become a primary focus for Darvoderis.

Chapter 1

Darvoderis' earliest memories were of the orphanage. Long hours of being
taught of the power of light and charity all the while under the distrustful
eyes of those who ran the place because of the color of his skin while often
noticing those ran the place turned a blind eye to other children taking
Darvoderis' meager portions of gruel made him less than receptive to their
teachings.


Most of the children there stuck to the sheltered confines of the orphanage.
Darvoderis' fled its ground as often as he could. He often observed battles
between the Empire to the north and others who assaulted them and who they
assaulted. He found the ones who fought the Empire often reminded him of the
hypocrites who ran the orphanage, making him sympathetic to the Empire from a
young age.


Darvoderis fled the orphanage for good when a Imperial Soldier took him on to
care for his equipment.He did not pay him, but he had a very small room of
his own, and whatever food he was given, which was already larger than the
portions he was given in the orphanage, he as allowed to eat without fending
off others. He felt he was moving up in the world.


One day, the Soldier did not come back.By this point Darvoderis was old
enough he had developed his own world view based his experience and the views
he had heard celebrated in the Imperial Lands. He was ready to set out on
his own with the goal of spreading the influence of the best systems he had
experienced in his short life and to bring pain and vengeance to those who
would oppose him.
