Chapter 5

Suffering a grievous betrayal by Aldon and confusion over what he views to be
apparent hypocrisy by the Jeede's mortal leadership of the Scarab,
Olachmhet's growing interest and faith in the enlightenment of the Cult is
wavering.

From Olachmhet's point of view, the following occurred:

1) Aldon asked him to slay the Huntress to regain the Icon.

2) Due to Aldon's incompetence, the Huntress was slain without the Icon being
regained.

3) Aldon betrayed him, slaying him in Hamsah after he was injured from the
fight with the Huntress. The Tribunal asked him about what happened, and he
had no problem with telling them - why not, if they might kill his enemy.

4) Jeede showed up shortly afterwards and attacked his guild guardian to lure
him out, then berated him about believing in Tribunal laws, and rejected his
pledge.

Olachmhet fails to understand the difference between manipulating the
Tribunal into enforcing his Will, and Aldon begging for his assistance with
the Huntress. He wonders that if such inconsistency and hypocrisy exists in
the very leadership of the Cult, then perhaps it is not worth his time after
all. He now considers various alternate futures which are worthy of his
genius.

Chapter 4

After spending time with Cainasir, Olachmhet has become very curious about
Scarabaeus, Saraba, and the general dogma of the cult. The idea of a religion
that encourages him to follow his own Will appeals to him, but he is still in
the process of locating texts and further information about it. In the
meantime, he intends to spend as much time around the assassin as he can,
learning what he can.

He has also grown incredibly curious about nightwalkers, seeing them as a
strange creature that is 'out of phase' with, or, 'beyond' time. He died in
Azuremain seeking information, and the inherent dangers only intrigued him
further. Having realized that the cult is somehow connected to these
nightwalkers, Olachmhet hopes to one day meet the Father of Devils and has
sent along an 'invention' (in the form of a poem about his recent experiences
and questions) to the god-lich, thinking that this might pique his interest.

His obsession with time and endings continues to grow - he often uses 'the
clock striking midnight' as a metaphor for when something -- a life, some
great Cabal or civilization, or even the world itself -- will end.

Chapter 3

Why sphere Destruction? Because there is no sphere time.

No, just kidding - more thought went into it than that. You might be
wondering why Olachmhet is sphere Destruction. Surely as an inventor - even a
failed, disingenuous one - he should be sphere Creation, right?

Olachmhet is sphere Destruction for many reasons. Firstly, while sometimes he
does actually invent new things, he mostly lies about it (both to himself and
others), and when he succeeds he often ends up destroying many things in the
process of doing so, and the end result is useless or not really an invention
at all.

The phrases that he pens on scrolls and refers to as his 'inventions' are
sometimes stolen from others, but even then are almost all trite and
meaningless. In short: Olachmhet ends up being the inverse of the famous
phrase 'destruction is a form of creation' - for him, creation is a form of
destruction.

On top of this, his obsession with time is slowly leading him to an obsession
with the ends of things. He sees time as the ultimate eroding agent. Time
brings everything to a close, once enough of it passes - it's the one thing
no man, no god, nothing in the world can escape. He believes that he is
special, and that, through his 'invented' clocks, a personification of time
whispers to him with their ticking and alarms about the 'right time' for
things.

Chapter 2

No one in the village cared much about his magical interests, and mostly told
him to keep it to himself. "That's okay", he thought, "I'll make my own
spells some day." So, one night, he snuck into the elder's hut and took his
fancy wall clock, an heirloom of the elder's father and his father before
him, home. All night long he tinkered on it, trying to learn something from
it - alas, fancy as it might be, it was just a mundane clock without any
magic to it.

The next day he stood in what served as the market square of the small desert
village. He had a small table set up, with the mostly-dismantled clock
sitting on it, and a big smile on his face. He had used some minor
enchantment to make some of the parts glow. A small sign sat on the table
which read "MY NEW INVENTION." A crowd had gathered, and the elder was
approaching. Bleary-eyed from a hard night of drinking cactus wine, his eyes
grew wide as he realized what was on the table.

"You little shit!"

The blows from the elder's fists came down like rain, hardening Olachmhet's
heart as they bruised his skin. He decided these people would never
appreciate his genius, and set out the next night to leave the desert and
make his on way in life.

As he walked in the desert, he thought to himself: "If I am to master time,
then I must mold myself to it. I am drow, but I've never known my house name.
So I will create a new house for myself: I am now Olachmhet of Kairos, the
House of Time."

Chapter 1

Raised by a desert tribe in the Araile, Olachmhet is a drow who never knew
his true parents or his true origins. A reclusive child, he spent much of his
time reading, and learned of his people. He was bullied quite a bit for his
heritage, and didn't even have true foster parents - truly 'raised by the
village', as he grew older he often wondered why they even bothered. His
repeated questions about his origins were always met with a stony silence.

Despite being raised by a relatively peaceful people, the evil and chaos
endemic to a drow's soul remained in him. But these energies were, for a time
in his childhood, directed towards intellectual pursuits. A traveling mage,
passing through the village, once left him with a minor book of conjuration
which he, as is his nature, obsessed over and memorized.

There were some passages in this book which made brief mention of time magic,
otherwise known as chronomancy. He immediately found himself fascinated by
the concept: what could be more powerful and mysterious than the ability to
control time? He sought to do some of his own experiments, and that's when
things took a turn for the worse.
