Ireswyn the Grand Mistress of Artistry, Enemy of the Refuge
The slender blonde wood-elf Ireswyn wanders here.
DescriptionA veil of blonde hair bearing a faint emerald tint flows down the sides of this elven woman's fair skinned face to her shoulders, before it is brushed back and falls midway down her back. On both sides there is a small silver clasp in the shape of a spider with tiny onyx eyes that keep her hair away from her face and back behind her narrow pointed ears. Her deep bluish green eyes and small nose are about the only features on her unblemished skin. She stands about the height of most elves, the slender frame of her race evidencing quickness over strength. She wears her attire in a way to reveal just enough to suggest what remains concealed without ever letting it show.

RoleChapter 7 The War's End Added Tue Aug 18 12:01:04 2015 at level 51:It had been many years since Ireswyn's personal war against the Outlanders had begun. Many against her had come and gone, and yet she remained. If she were in a war of attrition against those initially responsible, she could say she had won it, simply by outliving them all. Even the second and third generations of outlanders had largely come and gone, and yet she remained.
It was true, some outlanders took up the mantle of fighting against her, though those people were ever fewer. More and more, they wanted to know the story behind it, and once learned, most simply left her alone.
This respite from them had in turned caused her to seldom visit their Refuge. Though she still distrusted the Refuge, and may even remain their enemy for the entirety of her life, Ireswyn reached a decision. No longer would she make attacks against the Refuge directly. That only perpetuated the cycle, but now, with no individuals she truly despised among the Outlanders, Ireswyn found her passion for their blood had waned. They could keep their silly stick, and unless they reverted back to their old ways, she could not see her ever visiting the Refuge again.
Perhaps the time for her return to Evermoon was drawing close, or perhaps it was simply time for her to find the next challenge to overcome. The thought of becoming the unfettered minstrel she had once been made her smile far more than killing any Outlander ever had. Her freedom was hers again, for the foolish Outlanders were no longer her concern.

RoleChapter 6 An enemy of the Refuge Added Sat Feb 28 12:42:16 2015 at level 51:Ireswyn had found herself enjoying her rather quiet life for a time. There had been the tournament of champions that her Herald friends had set up, in part thanks to her own donation of funds for the winner. There had been more than a few adventures to far off places, and Ireswyn could honestly say there was little more she could want of life. Even the former Empress was no more, and it had been ages since she last saw the Harbinger. She grew complacent in her wanderings.
It was the reminder she got from that mage, one she had all but forgotten about in those years, that renewed her though. Reminded her of why she had made an enemy of a few of the tree folk. It was that mage that replaced in her that spark she had not known she had lost.
The Outlanders, even Liantae, one she truly had enjoyed the presence of, were all the same in her eys. Though she had forgotten them, it seems they had not forgottn her. She knew it had been a mistake to forget about them. They would never change their ways, not while those elders harbored their grudges against her. Well aware that her actions would only perpetuate that violent cycle, Ireswyn decided anyway. She would hunt them, when she could, she would aide their enemies in weakening them. The tree would be no refuge for them against their enemies, she would gladly see that all who would burn the refuge stronger.
In all other ways though, she remained unchanged, happy to idle her time with friends and others. But now, ever with an eye for those who she knew had not forgotten her, who she would not forget again.

RoleChapter 5 Adventure on the Death Wind Part 2 Added Tue Dec 30 16:59:52 2014 at level 51:Wise commanders know that in a tense situation where lives are on the line, one should remain focused and alert, and that the last thing the person leading them should do is get drunk. Smart warriors know when to follow their leader and when to take charge for themselves. These three, aboard the bloodied deck of the Death Wind, are none of these things.
As Ireswyn walked over to where she could have sworn that locked cabin was, she focused far more on her wineskin than the ship. She walked right through a gap in the rail of the ship that night, and her devout companions followed her over, all three splashing into the Sea of Despair.
For a moment, there was nothing but shocked silence.
Then, a moment of dawning comprehension.
And then such a string of profanity erupted forth from Ireswyn once she fully realized what she had just done that it would have made an enraged drunken duergar proud, until even her trained lungs could hold no more breath and she fell silent.
"What else one expect when follow drunk elf around without looking" Hurk said as he began chuckling. Marintok nodded and joined in the laughter. The sounds of Marintok and Hurk's laughter rang out and continued on all the way back to the Eternal Star, and even Ireswyn could not hide her own smile as they slogged through the door to the Inn, Hurk rushing to the bar to share tales of their adventure with other patrons.
It was clear to her then, more so then ever before, that she had found true friends in Thera, for neither minded her misstep, both more excited in the adventure than the reward. It was they and the adventures they shared, that were becoming her focus. She cared increasingly less about the Outlanders, or the now Empress, then she used to. She hadn't forgotten their assaults against her, but she found now there were far more important things to spend her time on then the tiresome fools who were so rapt in their respective causes they missed out on all that was truly before them.
Evermoon, and her place beside Lady Moonsinger, would have to wait just a little while longer she decided.

RoleChapter 4 Adventure on the Death Wind Part 1 Added Tue Dec 30 16:57:55 2014 at level 51:The giant looked eager, even if he did not know what lay over that rail looming above them. Ireswyn smiled at Hurk for that, as she sat idly tuning her harp. "Relax my friend, the time is drawing upon us to strike, and besides, we'll find nothing but death on this vessel more than likely." Marintok glanced over to her and smiled as well, to which she smiled back. The Cliffjumper never shied away, a rather endearing, if not costly, quality. The three of them, at her suggestion, were below the Death Wind, the famed pirate vessel of the Hao'Kaan, with plans on plundering their riches (though she did wonder if that in turn made them pirates as well). The harp sounded perfectly as she finished, and with that she sung the final song to inspire them for the deeds that lay in front of them.
Marintok wasted no time, and slung his hook on to the rail, and sent himself up and over onto the ship. Not an instant before his form vanished did the sounds of battle sound as a pirate yelled out the warning. Ireswyn glanced to Hurk. "Come along Hurk, we wouldn't want Marintok to have all the fun." Hurk smiled again as they both propelled their hooks onto the rail and made their way onto the ship.
The battle erupted all around them, pirates and their slaves, all cast into the fray against them. Ireswyn settled into the background, singing for the warriors as they traded blows with the pirates. Quicker than she would have thought, the First Mate lay dead (a rather brutal strike of Hurk's axe had almost cleaved him in two) at their feet. The trio then set about the rest of the ship, engaging the pirates and the leaders of the ship, and somehow, finding victory in each battle.
The fighting was intense, but to Ireswyn's surprise the crew of the Death Wind, even the Captain, fell before them. Marintok even found a rather important looking key on the corpse, and handed it to Ireswyn, who smiled. "Let's go take a look behind that door shall we?", and visions of mountains of gold were gleaming in her eyes as she spoke.

RoleChapter 3 Life so far Added Sat Dec 6 04:59:25 2014 at level 51:Life had taken Ireswyn on any adventures, and through them all she had learned a great deal. She had made friends she trusted, fought battles where she found both victory and defeat. She had drank with the young and the old, commoners and gods alike. She had seen those she once considered friends turn to enemies. Among them all though, none did she trust more than Marintok, the warrior of balance. He had ever been willing to go on adventures to places with her, usually at great personal cost. In turn, she had made it a point to be equally helpful to him, to guide and protect him when she could.
It was to Ireswyn's own shock though, that she had found not allies, and certainly not friends, but perhaps willing acquiantances, among the Imperials. With the passing of the old emperor, only the High Priestess did she despise, but found herself more amicable towards the rest. It was for that though, that the new challenge had become apparent. The Outlanders had dared to challenge her, to strike at her even, and for that she would no more aid them. They would be her enemy from that day forward.
Ireswyn often found herself idling away her days roaming the land, and no matter where, she always kept in mind the home she planned to one day return to. She did not yet consider her a master, not one yet worthy to join Lady Moonsinger in the halls of Evermoon. It would not be until she was a true master, reknowned in all the lands, that she could return, to take her place beside the mentor that has inspired her. The journey had not been short, and rarely easy so far, but the challenges ahead were that which Ireswyn was embracing most, ever with the goal in mind without care or concern for much else.

RoleChapter 2 Ireswyn's place in Thera Added Thu Oct 23 12:19:20 2014 at level 31:Ireswyn looked down at the goblin's corpse, then over to the dark elf covered in its blood. She could not help but laugh a little at all of it. The goblin had never been a problem to her, but it had pressed matters with her beyond what she would allow, dared to assault her even, even though at that time they shared a common goal. If death the thing sought, she had little choice but to oblige it, and hence she relayed its presence to a dark elf she had never met, and saw it destroyed, perhaps earning her a bit of good will with the dark elf who she had no doubts would just as readily turn on her at any moment. And yet, the one she would have thought her natural enemy was amicable, the one that might have been her friend laying dead. And that was the humor in it, that she could never know what to expect, what might happen when she acted.
In those moments Ireswyn delighted in the randomness of it all, that but for a few wrong words the goblin might yet be alive and working with instead of against her. Instead she had offered him up to the dark elf, watched and aided in his demise. She knew then that life could offer her no greater enjoyments than the freedom to act on her whims, to revel in what results the unexpected brought her. She had no trust of the dark elf, no love of him or the goblin. All she knew was she could never allow herself to be tied down to any one cause, to any one group. She would live unbound by what others thought or wanted. While so many lived by rules, to her there could be none. How could she deny herself any experience when Thera had countless to offer her? She wished to live through them all. Only then could she return to Evermoon and regale them of all manners of music, of her own triumphs as well as her failures. Tales of a life she would consider worthy to have been led.

|
RoleChapter 1 The Aspirant Bard from Evermoon Added Thu Oct 23 12:18:07 2014 at level 31:Ireswyn's life in Thera had finally begun to show a hint of promise. Her family had been little more than average elves making a living in Evermoon, working in the Mushroom Tree Tavern most of their lives. Her mother had been a performer of modest skill, while her father had idled his time away serving drinks when Rythel wasn't tending the bar. Both had been loving parents to Ireswyn, if not a little plain and boring in her eyes. After all, Thera extended far beyond the gates of Evermoon and Ar'Atouldain, yet neither had the slightest interest in seeing it. For their part though, they had encouraged Ireswyn to make her own way, knowing their lifestyle would not be enough to satisfy their daughter.
Ireswyn had met with many fellow elves who lived within Evermoon in her brief time there. None had left more of an impression upon her though, than the reknowned master Ehlondara Moonsinger, who was known to visit the tavern for the occassional drink, and to the delight of the patrons, lyrical performance. Ireswyn always found those to be the most captivating times of her formative days, listening to the songs of the most wonderful things. Tales of love, bravery, loss and courage, no matter the subject they held her attention til the last note, always left her wanting to hear more. How any could hear such music, and allow themselves to remain idle in Evermoon was beyond Ireswyn's comprehension. If any one thing had inspired her to leave Evermoon, it was those songs. She envisioned herself as one day being the subject of them, rather than the audience. To do that though, she knew she could not remain among the halls of Evermoon, and so she had left, seeking her own life and adventure.
Music came naturally to her, though to her own amazement she learned how much more difficult it was to weave music effectively than Ehlondara had made it seem. While she could sing, a bard imparted more than that through their music, and she knew that was the secret of Ehlondara's music that had so inspired her that she still struggled to grasp. She'd learned many songs by now, could sing most of them well, given enough time, but mastery would be a long way off. In those times she was thankful for her elven heritage, for years spent mastering would lend themselves to centuries of use in her traveling of Thera.
